  1. I am with you on this. I told them when they came the interview that there is no cure, eating anywhere is tricky. I gave them an extensive list of symptoms that I have but of course most end on the cutting room floor. I believe it should have been at least five minutes long. They always seem to give much more time to things other allergies or conditions....
  2. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Starfish Trelawny resort in Trelawny, Jamaica. They would point out everything I could and could not eat each day for every meal in the buffet.
  3. I had three on my thyroid. Four endocrinologists refused to see me because "they weren't big enough" yet. Then they would take them out. I got my non endocrin and non family doctor to give me synthroid and I got rid of them. Why could the other doctors say, "well let's see if we can get rid of them with synthroid," well, because they would rather do surgery...

  5. You may not get a reaction but it will still do damage to your villi. Perhaps it is waiting till you think it isn't going to react then it will whack you with a whammy.
  6. I don't know where you are but if you have a Planet Organic nearby. I think they are only in a few places in Canada. They have a gluten-free booklet that they will give to Celiacs, with their own brands that are gluten-free in them. I won't touch anything that has been produced in a facilty where wheat has been.   7. We may have some crap on here but it is good crap. Especially when we haven't been glutened then our crap is good. Mature, sometimes. Whacky, most of the time. Believe in fun, all the time. Stick around and party down with us.
  8. Everytime I go to worry I worry that I will be glutened by accident.
  9. You can get glutened by a couch if by mistake you ingest any of them. They could get on your hands and you could touch your mouth or eat something a few tiny crumbs could be on your hands.

I just called them about why the barley malt in the mni's and they said they are made on the same machines as all the mini bars.   12. Beware the bite sized Mars bars. I thought they were like the big ones and I did not read the package, I just ate one and I have broken out in DH on both sides of my mouth, the big C and feel gross.

I have to wear gloves when I clean off my desk at work with alcohol wipes but i know if I ended up with hidden crumps by if I get a reaction. I never eat in the lunch room at work because it is loaded with gluten. All our desks and equipment except our headsets...

You know you are Celiac if ... ...you do the happy dance when you find some place that has gluten free food. ...you get excited if you find something new in the store that is gluten-free. ...you hug the store manager when they give you a book of the gluten-free products in their store. ...you find yourself explaining to the cats why you have changed...
  15. Bee Hive and Old Tyme and any syrup made by the company that makes these is gluten-free.
  16. They had to do the skin test on me three times because with some it was immediate, many I reacted 2-3 hours later and some a whole day or two later. Being a delayed reactor is somewhat unusual so they tell me but I believe it is more common than they think.
  17. Can you describe this rash. It maybe be an allergy to the soap or it may be dh but you would need to describe it so that we can could ascertain which it is.

  19. I think you may be delusional, I know the gluten did it. They made a mistake on your birth certificate just like they did on mine. I think they made a mistake on many of our birth certificates. You are probably young enough to by age or my slightly older sister. You are a spring ostritch, look at that perky look on your face.
  20. I went to a movie with a friend and had about ten pieces of popcorn with that buttery topping. Boy was I sick and I had an outrageous breakout of DH also.
  21. When I was pregnant I drank lemonade and ate salads, everything was coming back up anyways. The only thing I could keep down for any length of time were those things for ten months.Oh and huge bottles of green olives, never liked them till I was pregnant.

  25. I was in the new Planet Organic by my house yesterday and it was awesome. They have tons of gluten-free stuff all over the store. The manager was so helpful and they have a booklet that they will give Celiacs that has all of their own products that are wheat/gluten-free and it has recipes in it also.
