ARCHIVED Very New To This And Needing Some Help!
Rusla replied to diva-u-k's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Have them check your B-12 and folic acid. I would stand in the shower and watch my hair flow down the drain. I could fill up a brown paper bag with my hair. They picked up on my very low B-12 (pernicious anemia) but never picked up on the Celiac until last year...only because I yelled and screamed for tests. -
You should be happy with big icons Susan, many women pay thousands of dollars to get big icons.

ARCHIVED Does Anystill Eat Gluten?
Rusla replied to uhmanduh's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
First welcome to the board and there is a great deal of support and recipes on here. Well then let me explain the joys of a extreme anemic condition or in otherwards pernicious anemia. Outside of the extreme pain in feet, toes and hands you can become paralyzed, I was within two points of that. After paralysis there is brain damage which is not reversable... -
That's nice, now take rice away from us...way to go jerks.

We know his type, we are just passions gluten-free playthings to him.. Let's face it poop may be a crappy subject but if you can't discuss it with the one you are married to then what is left in life. Whatever was wrong with that counsellor for not bringing it up? How did they ever get their certificate? That is number one in counselling...

ARCHIVED You're Know You're A Celiac If...
Rusla replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had a miserable dream that people were holding me down and feeding me gluten. I woke up crying it was so awful. So, I can relate to that a whole lot. -
Richard--wishful, sinful, wicked you. Imagine you having friends and gluten-free ones that are also women, how could you. Such a disgrace, your wife must have thought you were the only gluten-free person in the universe. We know that you are just using Celiac to flirt with all of us. We all know how stimulating a discussion on poop can be. She will think...

Rusla replied to theprincess's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Ashley, Your mom is a great person, her and I talk often and she is a wonderful friend. Like Karen, her and I have never met as I also live in Canada, but hopefully some day we will. Now, I have come upon something that may have correlation to your TB case. My grandmother on my mother's side died from TB when my mother was 4 years old. My mothers sister... -
ARCHIVED Need Tips On Negotiating A Car
Rusla replied to debmidge's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
First of all I leased my vehicle to begin with because as a business owner I use my car mostly for my business. With a lease (in canada) you can take the full lease amount each month the portion used for business. This also includes gas, insurance and maintenance. On a lease vehicle when you turn it back in if you don't go for the buy out they will charge... -
Congratulations Carrie! So where are you off to? Don't say BC or I will become very jealous. If you say Jamaica or Cuba I will become murderous. LOL

ARCHIVED Mouse, Candiankaren, Mtndog I Need Your Help
Rusla replied to theprincess's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I feel like I weigh 1000 pounds. All those children are high caloric intake. They are quit fatty you know, especially with the bbq sauce or sweet and sour sauce. -
It could be both. I got sciatica after some extreme surgery but could it have been also caused by celiac, I really don't know. I always say my psychotic nerve is acting up.

Ashley, welcome to the board. Tell your mom to hurry and get a new monitor she is missed. I hope you don't have this but if you do then you can hang with us and you can hang with us anyway. Karen, I don't want it that moist. I see you avoided the 1000 pounds issue which means yes. -

Are these good and moist? Will they make me gain 1000 more pounds? Hugs, Rusla -
Well let's see the other day at work the head boss brought in some donuts for everyone. Then the union came by with KFC and Pizza. They asked if I wanted any and I said, I could not have it do to extreme allergy to wheat and gluten. Well their answer was oh, sorry but that doesn't stop them from doing it over and over. I wonder if one can't brand this as...

Congratulations! Eat gluten-free and make the world eat gluten-free with you. If they dine on gluten then, they dine alone. They never knew and now I think I would break to them so they won't go "ewww it was gluten-free."

ARCHIVED I Cheated And Nothing Happened!
Rusla replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Susan, Depression is a way of life for me, even worse with gluten and eggs. Just when I get an urge to cheat I think about the things I mentioned and really don't need cancer to throw into the pile. I also think about my pain and my leper face. Yes, I know not everyone has that ability or can combat the urge of gluten when it is everywhere. How many... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Curl Enhancer?
Rusla replied to mamaathome's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I hate to say this but eating ones crusts does not curl your hair. In my gluten eating days I always ate crusts and had poker straight hair. Now, I have curly hair, the only good thing I got from Hypothyroidism. -
ARCHIVED Can I Slap Them ? Please ?!
Rusla replied to Mamato2boys's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I think they need their butts kicked, some people are so very dumb. How about buying him some Enviro Kids cereal and putting his name on the box in big letters or packing some in his lunch box. -

ARCHIVED I Cheated And Nothing Happened!
Rusla replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sure, what's a bit of cheating here or there. What's a little damage to your villi. What's a bit of cancer here or there. So what if you have to walk around with you BM's in a bag via cather it is worth the donuts. Not for me and never will be, therefore I will not intentionally cheat, ever. I feel it is bad enough when it happens accidentally. This is... -
I love the sesame ones, they are killer good.

Welcome Claire, Being anemic is part of this fun stuff. Hopefully your doctor has given you some sublingual b-12 or some shots. Now as for bones aching, could be arthritis, have they explored that yet? Or perhaps fibromyalgia which is not bones hurting but sure can feel that way.
