ARCHIVED Breast Implants And Celiac Disease
Rusla replied to Mayam's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I had breast implants for 15 years, they had broken shortly after being put in, although I did not know till 15 years later. During that time many things happened along with constant illeness and sore throats, weird spots that have never left my body. They were afraid I had cancer and now I have two horrifying scars on top of my breasts. The silicone oozed... -

I am so sorry for you Lynne and Tinker. I am so glad it has not gotten to that point with me. I put in for a full time position here but my fear is if I get it, will I be able to work it. I am under severe restrictions by my doctor that I can only work day shifts and not after 6 Pm because of my bipolar. Also if I work usually more than three days in a week...

ARCHIVED For You Law Savvy People Out There
Rusla replied to NicoleAJ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
From 2001-2003 in Canada it was considered a disability because of the fact we had to trudge everywhere to get food, the making of the food the fact that this disease could interfere with daily living. Then all of a sudden so bright individual who doesn't have this decided that it isn't a disability because we don't need a feeding tube. So, now it is considered... -

ARCHIVED America's 10 Hottest Food Trends
Rusla replied to Claire's topic in Publications & Publicity
This can very well be a double-edged sword for us. In one way it could get more gluten-free food into restaurants and stores for us but will it be made totally that way or will they take it as a fad? Which means they will not care if there is a little gluten added into it from a machine or whatever, because they think this is a fad. Yes, this could diminish... -
ARCHIVED Why Celiac's Are Special, Heavenly Creatures
Rusla replied to fairydust's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome to the board Celia Fairy dust. Yes, celiac3270 is a fact- based person, so am I but I think we could all use some fairy dust from time to time. Now I believe that anyone who has the health problems we do, diabetics do, anyone who has these problems is in tune with their bodies. They have to be because the medical profession isn't in tune with many... -
ARCHIVED Doc Called Enterolab "quackery"
Rusla replied to Jocelyn357's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You should print all of these off for that quack of a doctor. I had a dermatologist say the same thing to me about weight and Celiac so, I had him do a skin biopsy for Dh well, the end result was him eating crow. He didn't think an overweight person could be celiac, he also didn't believe dh was anywhere but on knees and elbows. Boy are doctors lame. Needless... -
My fatigue gets in the way of me being able to get a full time position. If I work five days a week I am so tired and exhausted it is not even funny. Then I end up getting real sick and end off work for a week.

ARCHIVED America's 10 Hottest Food Trends
Rusla replied to Claire's topic in Publications & Publicity
I was never part of the in crowd and now I am. We are so posh. I can't imagine why anyone would intentionally want to be like us but now they have made us all the rage. Nothing worse than being the flavor of the month but who knows, maybe in some perverse way this new "trend" will help us food wise. -
Nothing on the site yet.

I got so good and so fast at catching the retainer when I was talking to someone, all they would see if my hand come up and shut. They never knew I was catching my retainer. I always thought that retainer catching should be an Olympic event.
-
Well between my thirty year stint with tmj and my life long clenching and grinding issues. We tried every type of retainer but I would either choke at night or my tongue would flip it out during the day. I ended up breaking two of them before I became adept at catching them in mid air while talking to people. Now, thanks to all of that and Celiac, I don't...

So, you are shafted like me.You have no benefits or recourse if you are sick a day. I lost all of mine when I had to move from driving bus to the office. I was not suppose to lose my status but the union did not do anything to help the two of us who got shafted. I am worse than part-time right now, I am what they call on-call. That is why I have other things...

I would suggest adding a bit of guar gum. xanthan gum is expensive and I don't find it as binding as guar gum or add more xantham gum if that is what you have on hand. -

What is sucanat? I have not heard of that before. But this looks great. I know tofutti does say that they can't guarantee their cream cheese but I have had no problems in the past with it but things could change.
