  1. You are making me jealous with all the places you have been, especially Galapagos. It is great that you had a terrific time.
  2. It could be either or both. I am sorry you are having this problem. I hope you feel better soon.
  3. I will post who Tandori is made by when I get home, which will still be about 3 hours from now.
  4. What I should have said is that some will not leave a specific part of the grill clean. You are correct the salamander cannot be cleaned when the restaurant is open. Some places absolutely will not adjust anything. Others are willing to help. Worst places are restaurants or food courts in malls.
  5. They are an american product and I bought them from the Salon here. There are many others but one I thought was safe I had a horrendous reaction to.
  6. You have a chinese restaurant in Edmonton, Pearl River I think it is,if you let them know ahead of time they will make the things that aren't usually gluten-free gluten-free for you. They have many things that have no gluten in them and they will use Gluten-free soy sauce also.
  7. I use Tom's natural deoderant but I am also starting to make my own. I make all my own shampoo's, soaps, fabric softener, I am now working on makeup. I am so sick of finding wheat in everything, now I know it will be safe because I know what is in these things.
  8. I have gotten violently ill and broken out with horrible dh on my eye and face from just a few crumbs. The longer I am gluten free the sicker I get. I have to wipe down my desk and everything on it at work because a couple of crumbs are enough to make me sick for a few days. Granted some are not as sensative as I am but if it makes me that sick you know it...
  9. Okay, Tandora is okay and so is one called Echo. These ones are especially for tanning beds.
  10. I have used arrowroot many times. I also use cornstarch but if you are doing a white sauce I would definitely use arrowroot. Cornstarch is a little bitter for that type of sauce.
  11. Definitely give them a call or talk to the manager or chef. Many restaurants unfortunately do not and will not do anything special or different for us. I have encountered ones that will not use clean separate bowls or clean the grill. Some do things to the potato or keep them with buns.
  12. It seems to be an American company that, now says they have a Canadian list also.
  13. I was under the understanding that Clan Thompson was America and therefore no good to Canadians.

    ARCHIVED The Makers Diet

It sounds more like Celiac than Crohns. Let's face it, tons of people are misdiagnosed with Crohns when it is Celiac.
  15. Karen, where did you get your pedometer and was it expensive? Having the big d all day never helped me lose weight. You think it would have but all I did was gain.
  16. I thought about caving but the horrible extreme reactions that happened with just crumbs is enough to stop me for going off. If I didn't get so sick and have dh so bad I probably would have cheated a thousand times by now. I am not one who likes to suffer and that is what I go through when I get the smallest amount. I would rather live without than live...
  17. Hi Jody, Welcome to the board. This is a great place for support. At first your symptoms sounded like mine when I was suffering from pernicious anemia and sometimes I still get them. It is hard to tell they could be associated with celiac disease or not. That is the problem this disease can affect many areas of your body and with over 200 different symptoms...
  18. Hi Betty, I know where you are coming from. Today at work there was a small foil wrapped easter egg. I popped it in my mouth without thinking. Then it hit me, I did not know the ingredients ,I spit it out quickly. Then I really wanted a pizza, so I stopped and got pizza pizza crusts so I could make my own. I hate the pain and the dh and thoughts of falling...

That is the way it should be. People helping people, not trying to make their life hell.

How did the bread turn out?
  21. I would like to do the walk here but I am not in my former race walking shape.
  22. I wish all of you who have problems with your coworkers could work with the people I do. Today in my mail slot, some of the other men and women I work with had found on the net and printed out gluten-free recipes for me. The coordinator may be a pain but I certainly would miss my coworkers if I left here.
  23. I will prefer which ever one will mail to Canada and Living Without won't. So, I will ask GFL if they will.
  24. I worry about it but I will not obsess about them. If you obsess you can defeat yourself and end up with what you don't want.
  25. Perhaps it isn't DH but eczema. Does it look like all your other dh?
