And since we are all vying for jobs on our cult-farm utopia thingy....I'd like to put in for town handy man. Not that we'd need one if everything is supposed to be perfect.
Trying to get caught up....
Oh, we'll need one...I am good at breaking things.
I got a question, and this is prbly to far of topic to get an answer... but can Rachel have dairy now? -
I just might go to this. Looks interesting and fun. Now, if I still have a job and don't have to have surgery around that time I'm set.
-
That sounds pretty close. I can't tolerate anything more than a gentle backrub. Even a light massage on my shoulders HURTS LIKE HELL!! Not just during it, which could be tight muscles, but for a good 2-3 minutes after the touching ceases.
Wow, fortunately for me it doesn't happen very often, but I can think of two other times recently where I was nearly in tears and in one case felt kind of nauseated. Did you notice it happening when you were gluten-free? I'm wondering if maybe it will get better once you're off the challenge.
Guess what? My son, daughter-in-law and my baby grandbaby Ana, are flying in tonight at midnight... can't wait to hold Ana again... they will be here for good now, they moved back home to sunny Florida!!How exciting!!!!!

Rachel- I don't know if you ever said what your OMG moment was yesterday, maybe I missed it?
I feel like I am missing other things, I apologize if I left anything out.
Yes, I must have missed it too, unless it was the follow-up on the C.Diff thing...Rachel?

I posted in another forum about bizarro pain I've been having. Does anyone else hurt a lot when someone scratches your back, gives you a massage, or you scratch your back? Or when you slide out of bed in the morning and your calves rub against the edge of the mattress? It's an intense soreness, like you just hit something really hard, only all of this is with avergage pressure. I've had it a few years, I never realized it wasn't normal
Haven't really had that kind of pain, but have had the kind where it feels like a really horrible sun burn when the skin is just lightly touched or even when clothing brushes against it...there's never any redness or rash or any other outward sign of anything amiss...the spots tend to differ from time to time.
I fell about a month ago and the bruising is gone, but my leg still hurts like it is bruised even with very light pressure...is that close to the pain you are feeling?
I had a massage on Saturday and thought I was going to die. Its a deep tissue massage and I always have her use heavy pressure and it's usually not a problem, but almost every spot she touched...even with lighter pressure on my feet hurt like crazy.

Tika is autistic, so she's mostly interested in hunting for lizards and staring intently at people to get what she wants...
Um, off topic? I am so consistently off topic that I"m sure to be voted off the cult farm....
I can't help but be off topic today, lol. I had a dog named Teaka! We spelled it differently obviously. Neat name!

Our geese are so highly skilled and trained. Not only can they detect auxigro, they keep us safe from all kinds of poisons and toxins that threaten to enter our healthy clean environment. They keep all the "loonies" out and all of those clearly of sound mind in. Plus they have the ability to fly and swoop in pretty formations.
I guess you could say our geese are multi-purpose/multi-talented.
Someone else will have to teach them to keep me away from the Bumble Bars because I can't be trusted to do it.

My son can be the offical medence bottle opener! At 2.5 years old he opens his own vitman bottle, yes the kind with the "Child Safe Lid"
Oh good, because I sometimes CAN'T get them open, lol!
Hey, if we are misfits and our paradise cult farm is a place for misfits...just call me misfit with a capital M! I'll take it any day!!!!

Protective auxigro detecting geese....THE SECRET TO EATING DAIRY AGAIN!!!!
-
Protective auxigro detecting geese!!!!!!!!!I was wondering why in the world you would want to taste it anyway.
LOL
Nothing would surprise me after reading all 165 pages of THIS thread!!
-
Rachel - are you still at work??? Did I miss your post on your OMG moment?
-
Good Lord, girl! They make you taste it? What the h*** kind of doctor do you have?
Cissie
-
Susan - I'm so sorry...will be praying.
Celia - I'm sorry, we were posting at the same time earlier and then work happened. I hate it when they make me work at work, lol.
Anyway, I am so happy your doctor thinks you are making progress. Sorry about the lifer shots.
Oh sheesh, I already forgot what I was going to respond to, lol.
Back in a minute after I re-read the pages I just read.
Donna - is it you that gets itchy from sugar? that's nuts! but glad you figured it out....Yep, me. It is nuts, but in some ways it makes sense....I thought for a long time that I had a problem with candida, one of the reasons why I went to low carb in the first place, but after 3 years or so figured it might be taken care of--it never shows on any tests. It did show on my allergy tests 5 years ago though.
Has anyone had a problem with pickup by DHL? I'm having the complete workup offered by EnteroLab, IF my specimen ever reaches them!!! After I received the kit, I had to wait three weeks before I could use it, for valid reasons too boring to mention. Finally made my "deposit" last Wednesday; called DHL and was given a pickup time for that same afternoon. No one showed up.Called again - pickup date was set for Monday (yesterday). No one showed up.
(Mind you now, the entire, 3-layered-hermetically-sealed package was sitting in my freezer. Shudder, shudder!) Called their customer service office this morning and raised cain.
Success at last; package was picked up half an hour ago. HALLELUJAH!!!!!
I've been on completely gluten-free, msg-free diet for a week, and already feeling much better. I didn't need to be hit over the head to figure this thing out, but wanted to wait until after I had my specimen before going on the strict diet.
Needed to vent, so thanks for being there. (My daughter L. says there's a fine line between venting and whining!)
It's never whining here, lol! I didn't have any problems with them picking up my deposits, lol. They came as they were scheduled, but because of circumstances and my work schedule the deposits did have to sit in my freezer for a while...so I understand the shuddering.
My GI and my ENT both said that diet is a valid test, and while my GI won't go so far as to diagnose with Celiac, he does recognize I can't eat gluten, lol.

Rinne - yes, there will be dancing!
I haven't danced in a long time, but I used to LOVE it.
Evie - have prayed for your husband.
Patti - LOVE the picture!!
Celia - Okay, I'll try to take over the rollcall, lol. As soon as I find the page it is on and copy it and then go over the 100 or so pages afterwards to make sure I didn't miss anyone.
Ugh, stool tests, lol. I've had enough of those.
Needles - I think I actually should have been a nurse. I don't mind and I can look at blood and all, but about half of the time when I have blood drawn, I can feel the blood drain from my head down to my toes. I was mentioning that to the nurse on Thursday while she was putting in my IV and my mom was looking away, lol. The nurse said it is a real condition, although I can't remember what she called it. My mom is just afraid of needles...I just pass out from the blood drain, lol.
I think I had my own OMG moment last night...can't wait to hear Rachel's. I think I may have mentioned my severe itching on my legs. The coconut oil seemed to help slightly but only for a few minutes. I read on another board yesterday where someone said sugar may play a part in it (heat also). I have been plagued with this itching for years, but a few years ago it kind of went away....guess what...I was on a low carb diet during the time it went away. I thought about that as I sat at work yesterday and noticed that my legs didn't itch...I hadn't had any sugar yet...didn't have any for lunch or late afternoon snack either. On the way home from work a small spot on my thigh right above my knee started to itch...I'm pretty sure that was from the sun hitting it, but it still wasn't bad. I didn't have any sugar yesterday until dinner time, where I had frozen pineapple and a couple of squares of chocolate. It took maybe an hour, but my legs started to itch more and more as the evening went on. I had more sugar as a snack, and by the time I went to bed I was stratching like crazy. Another grasping at straws thing, but hey it's worth a test I think.
Again this morning I haven't had any sugar and my legs aren't itching!
I also think I figured out why I had glutening symptoms yesterday...I ate a tiny communion wafer at Church on Sunday. DOH!!!!! How idiotic am I anyway?!
-
To save our thread: I haven't had the big D in weeks, but have had a few floating stools.
Yep, I'm starting to get the pain in my abdomen...I'm wondering if I didn't get glutened somehow. I did eat out on Saturday, and I had some of the new Lundberg Brown Rice Pasta I found at Whole Foods. I'm thinking it was the eating out thing even though I eat there every Saturday...maybe someone messed up.
-
donna - - have you tried Clif Nectar bars? I like them very much......the berry one especially.
Oh yah. Had one on my way home from my biopsy last week...it had been in the car while my procedure was taking place so it was like a warm brownie! (can you guess chocolate is my fav)
Can we have unlimited dairy free chocolate on our cult farm?
-
Will do!
-
Oh hallelujah!!! I'm covered...shopping and hair! Woohoo!
Christina - how awful to have to go through two weeks even.
ChelseE - definitely powerful fans, air freshners and noise reducers, lol.
I promise not to sneak in any contraband Bumbar Bars.
-
Spoon theory??? Please explain.
Cissie
I'm having brain fog, so won't do the theory justice, but in ChelsE's post above, the word spoon is underlined...that's actually a link, so if you click on it it will take you to the spoons theory page.
-
Donna - sorry about the D
Would somebody kindly explain Bumble Bars to me?
It's okay...sh** happens, lol.
Sorry, I usually don't swear, but I couldn't resist!
Bumble Bars are a type of energy bar. They have flax seeds, and other stuff which I can't remember now...hum, wonder if I have brain fog too. My favorite is the chocolate to which I add some kind of nut butter. Yummy. I am truly addicted to them. Truly.
Here is a link to the Bumble Bars:

Did you have problems with bumble bars themselves or just wanting to eat too many....I forget.
We just got into Lara bars...need to add some more fiber...especially when my daughter is off rice for a week. She seems to be doing ok. I also wonder how corn is with her since she still has a few tummy troubles. Would a glutening last this long...it's been almost 1 1/2 weeks.
As far as I know just wanting to each too much. I did get a mouth blister after eating one, but it seemed like a one time deal. I love the fiber in the Lara bars! I haven't noticed any kind of problems with them for me. I don't have a problem with wanting to eat too many either.
...and a tv, I need my tv....Donna, do you tolerate nuts? I can't remember who all could or not. What is it about nuts? I would really like to eat them.
So you have been sober (Bumble Bar sober) going on 8 days now. One day at a time Donna, one day at a time
I seem to tolerate nuts (well mostly nut butters) well too...I practically live on nut butters. I don't eat a lot of the whole nuts though. One of my doctors (the one who wouldn't touch me when I was extremely dizzy and had extremely low blood pressure, so don't know why I'm listening to her now, lol) once told me the whole nuts are hard to digest, great for fiber, not great for those of us with intestinal problems.
-
Wow, I love that spoon theory! I'm sending that to my friend who has fibromyalgia really bad...I think she starts the day with less spoons than I've ever had on my worst days. I know people don't understand and that is a great way to visualize it.
-
Okay, to get this thread back on topic...I have D today, lol.
I haven't even had a Bumble Bar in over a week! (Maybe the intervention worked after all--I have 4 or 5 in the cupboard!)
We will definitely need modern facilities in our farm!
-
and I can be nice to everyone, like the Walmart greeter. I'll be the Rachelville greeter
Yes, yes, we'll need this after I finish putting the attack geese after unsuspecting glutenous folks who wander on to our cult farm!
Donna, was the book on inflammation you were looking at Dr Pericone's by chance?? Just curious.I don't think so...I think I would have remembered Pericone...I think I did buy one of his books a couple of years ago, but don't remember if I finished reading it, lol. I'll have to see if I can find it online. Course, guess it would help if I could remember either the name of the book or the author.
Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Wow, cool Rachel!!! Hope you can eat dairy again, lol!
I forgot what all I was going to respond to so I'll just go off on my own little tangent.

Fibromyalgia...I've suspected I might have it for a while, or at least a "mild" case of it. I have extreme muscle tightness and pain in my neck and jaw area (especially the left side) and get terrible tension headaches. My chiropractor is the one who mentioned it because everytime she pressed on one of the pressure points there was a knot and she could tell it hurt although I tend to have a high tolerance for pain. I actually think there are 18 spots if I'm not mistaken and I think she said I had 11 of them. But I've often suspected those roving sunburn like pain things were nerve related or fibro related. Sometimes even my teeth hurt. My back is definitely tender...the massage therapist hits every darned tender spot too.
The pain has been a little less since going gluten free and dairy free.
I so want to eat dairy again, lol. Rachel have some ice cream for me too! Describe every bite.

Okay, I think I have to go back and reread again so I can respond specifically....and what the heck is up with limiting our emotions anyway.
I tend to have a sarcastic sense of humor, so I think that helps, lol.
Who is the cutie on the right...that one looks like my last dog, Chip. Chip was definitely a mix of something, but looked remarkably like your little cutie on the right. My Teaka was a teacup poodle, lol...hardly a good guard dog, but awfully cute.
Yah, I fell a few weeks ago and my whole foot turned black...it was kind of scarey. Now the bruising is gone but I can still feel the bruising pain.
Oh hells bells...I was trying to reply to a post and the darned server won't let me so I had to copy the stuff and then edit this post.
First emotions and now talking.
