Oh me-o-my-o it IS hard to quit coffee.
Yes indeed! I haven't had any since November. I STILL want it...there is an expresso machine in our small kitchen at work, and every day it reminds me that I want a Starbucks Sugarfree Vanilla Latte so badly.
Donna, I am thinking nutraceticals are the Samento, Noni, etc.Hum, I wonder what happens if you take it within two hours. I am taking cumanda (alternating two weeks on/off with banderol) and I suspect chlorella might be considered a nutraceutical as well. Sheesh...I'm taking a whole bunch of herbal stuff.
Hum, maybe I should contact the manufacturer and see what they mean and what happens if you take them together. There is no way in the mornings I can take them separately...I have to leave my house by 5:15 and I can't bring them to work with me.
-
Rinne!! What's a nutraceutical???!!! I asked this a few 100 pages ago
I think and I don't think we ever came to a consensus. I have one liquid vitamin that says not to take within 2 hours of nutraceuticals, and for the life of me I don't know what it is.

I cannot hear myself sing in a group. I hear everyone else around me instead. I am really not the church choir type.
I really do best with songs like "You Know I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse, "Karma" by Alicia Keys, "Don't Speak" by No Doubt, anything by Alanis Moriessette, Sheryl Crow, or Toni Braxton. My voice is not suited for those church songs. I am a second soprano.
I actually sing Tenor or alto, but alto is sometimes a bit high.
I am so busy trying to learn choir and small group songs that I haven't listened to any other music in about 7 years.
I don't even know what's popular anymore.
I'm remembering my favorites like Led Zeppelin, Journey, Aerosmith, etc. If I hadn't told you all how old I was, that'd do it.

Donna.....I got the emails!!
Great detective work.
I cracked up "Rachel...is this you?"
OMG....thanks so much...you're the best!!
I have to go back to work but as soon as I get home I'll be heading straight for that article.
Yeah...I know I'm expressing my nerdliness a bit too much right now.... but I've been wanting to read more about this since when I first posted about it.
I know of somebody whos done it very recently so gonna try to find out how it went for her.
I liked the article a lot...I read what you posted a while ago, but somehow this just excited me!
And, at least if it WASN'T you, there wasn't anything personal.
I think Miamia also has a low appetite.Me and Donna pretty much rachel everything in sight.
Oh yeah, Mia with no appetite!
Yep, you and me...so similar in so many racheling ways.
OMG--me, too! For how sick I usually feel, you'd think I'd be much thinner--but even when I'm nauseous--I have an appetiteOMGosh yes...I have to be hurling to stop me from eating and even then I have to think hard about NOT eating.
-
Oh man this so reminded me of how much I miss performing.
And Donna! Belt it out! He wouldn't have asked u do it if u weren't capable!!
Yep, that's right! You'll perform again soon, I can just feel it!
Um, nope....I think he likes to give new people a chance...and besides, he hasn't heard THIS yet. He may change his mind.
Actually, my voice isn't horrible and mostly I can stay on pitch, but it's not great either and I don't think I can keep the nerves out of my voice...I do okay with the group, and they'll certainly be up there with me, but sheesh, all eyes on me for what, like 30 seconds... yikes.
[oh BTW, last night, I got scared, saw that Scott was on, I skee-daddled, dingo tale betwixt legs, I was certain that we were going to get busted for too many shenanigans and too much goofing off - and it was TOTALLY tom's fault, I had nothing to do with it, harrumph]Yikes, that would have scared me too, lol!
Bev...wow...I'm trying to think about when I last didnt have an appetite.I think I'm pretty much always hungry.
Glad you feel better and got to go to the park with Angus.
I think I might have stole the german shepard puppy if I were you though.
Well at the very least I would have given him a hundered kisses on his cute little nose. I'm known to totally smother baby kittens, puupies, ferrets, etc.
Ditto on all this. I almost always have an appetite and am not afraid to show it.
The very few times Carla is probably a good one to answer this since she's said before she frequently doesn't have an appetite. I usually just eat something I like that is easy to fix (as in no fixing), digest and eat.
And ditto on the animal thing....baby animals especially! Dogs in general bring out the fool in me.
:LOL

Jin, is that one of your drawings??? It's wonderful!
I'm quoting myself cuz it's a DOH moment...I see now where Jin explained what it was...don't know how I missed it.

Hi Marlene...here is your post.

Jin, is that one of your drawings??? It's wonderful!

Rachel - sent the article in one email as a Word doc, and in a separate email with just the text in the email...let me know if you don't get them, cuz that means I sent it to someone else.

Hold me, I'm scared!
I got a check from my insurance company yesterday for $267. I thought it was a mistake at first, but went through all my paperwork and indeed, it was for one of the first claims I submitted when I started seeing the HN doctors from NOVEMBER!!!!
Okay, so I guess I'd just written off that money and forgot about it cuz I had to resubmit it two times after they rejected it the first time (lack of diagnostic codes, which were clearly printed on the receipt--stupid insurance co). So, it was fun to actually get it in the mail yesterday.
Here's the scarey part, lol. They sent me an interest check! Now, I got one of those before but it was for 36 cents! This one was for nearly $11!! Freaky!
OMGosh, that fudge recipe sounds great!
Julie - I see that Rachel answered you about ART...I tend to agree with everything she said about it. I am quite amazed with the whole thing, and if you saw a session in person you'd wonder about our sanity, but it really is accurate. Can't explain how it works though!
Hi Donna--No weaseling outI know you're going to blow everyone away with your solo. How I wish we could all be there in the first row to hear you!
Well, now that would be fun! Having so many people in the front row who have overcome so much would definitely be an inspiration to overcome my stage fright.
Donna,I'm totally dying to read the article Scott put up on LED. All his articles are in PDF now....which I cant open on my mom's computer.
I was hoping he had posted the article on LymeNET but it was the same link...so I still cant read it.
Is there any way you could copy it and send it to me?? Dont know if you have my email?
He told me the article is a long one....lots of info so I'm hoping I could learn more from it.
Rachel - I don't have your email, but I think I know what it is.
I think I saw you on Laura's list. Can you open a Word document that has pictures in it? It's four pages. If you can't open a file that large, I can scan it to a Word or rich text document.

just emailed all you lovely ladies. xoxo
Got it!!! I'm printing it now, and when I'm done here I'll read it. (I'm limiting myself to two hours on the computer at night and I've got just a few minutes more, lol)
Hi, everyone--Just got back from my first appointment with the naturopath. I was there for two hours, plus a four hour round trip to get there, and now I'm very tired. There was a lot to take in, and he thinks I have a lot of issues (tee, hee--I already knew that), but he thinks he can definitely get me sorted out. He's going to do a work up of my symptoms and come up with a regimen for me.
He definitely thinks I have a leaky gut, which is why I have diarrhea and nausea all the time and react to all foods. Until he gets my stuff worked up, he has me on three things. My question for you all is, have you been on any of these things, and any advice/suggestions?
First, a stomach acid helper--he thinks I basically have no stomach acid, which means my food is leaving my tummy not well processed at all--it's simply HCI and pepsin, manufactured by Pharmax.
Next, is a multivitamin with digestive enzymes in them, to be taken twice a day--it's manufactured by Integrative Therapeutics, Inc, and it's called Nutrivitamin Enzyme Complex.
Last, he wants me on a probiotic because he thinks I have some bad bugs in my tract. It's HLC Mindlinx, also by Pharmax.
I've never taken a probiotic or stomach acids, so I'm a bit nervous, but we'll see what happens. Then, I'll find out soon what he wants to go with. We're keeping in touch via email in the meantime.
I've been sick for three years, and I'm almost scared to get my hopes up....but I'm hopeful for the first time in a long time. And that makes me happy
I think you should be hopeful. It may be a long process, but you will get there and this is the first step. Having someone who listens to you and takes an active part in helping you get better is a great first step.
Hum, I'm taking HLC Intensive from PHarmx (a probiotic). I'll probably be switching soon though because this just doesn't test well for me in ART...it's not horrible, but it's not great either.
I haven't heard of the others. Tomorrow I'm going to look up the enzymes...the ones I have do not sit well with me and they tested badly in ART (my confirmation, lol).

Ha, someone was just telling me this weekend that Agave Nectar was okay...I've been trying to remember who whilst I've been quoting away here...it was the man I met in the waiting room at BioSET on Saturday.
Anyway, I've always heard that NO sweeteners were okay except for a little stevia...and even that is usually limited.
Donna, just bring five of your BEST friends (well, second best, WE're your best!!) to the Church. Then sing your solo in front of them. When you go back to sing for a bunch of people you don't know as well, it will be much easier.
It's always harder for me to play if I see my friends in the congregation so I just don't look.
Well, the first time I had to sing the solo in practice my heart was in my throat, so I can't imagine singing in front of my best friends.
I may ask my choir director to listen to me. If I can sing in front of him I can sing in front of anyone.
Donna- YOU ARE GONNA ROCK THEIR SOULS!Well I'll rock something.
Maybe not their souls though.
I really CAN'T sing well guys and girls.
Chloe is doing the six hour urine collection. She came to me and said that I didn't tell her what to do if she overflows the cup! I told her to go to the bathroom more often! She's having a blast ... not really, but she's being a good sport about it.Silly girl! I hope I can be a good sport...I am certain there is an orange jug in my future. Probably not so distant future!
Hope Maranantha almond butter is ok.......Ow I think that's the one I almost broke a tooth on from pieces of shells in it.I think it was months later when ANOTHER jar had shell bits in it too!
Never a problem w/ WhF 365 brand.
OMGosh, yes...had the same thing happen with Marantha and shells!!! I also use the 365 brand and have never found a shell and I actually think it tastes better. The one I buy is also organic.
Think I ate a half a jar of the 365 cashew butter yesterday.
If she tests something and it totally blocks your system then that wouldnt be good at all. On the other hand she might test something and there is no negative reaction whatsoever BUT....its also not having any desired effect on the infection its meant to target....so basically not a good option to take...even though its not rejected by your body.Yeah, the EFA was totally blocking my system. Scott first tested it and it seemed okay, but then I mentioned that that was the one I thought was causing problems for me...he had me do something with my hand, and sure enough it was blocking me. I guess there are three different ways they can check the stuff.
Scott always tries all my supplements by themselves then with whatever my "core" stuff seems to be.
He is having me rotate two kinds of drops and at first he had them both on the plate, but it was not working well for me...then his friend says, well she won't be taking those two together they are meant to be rotated. Yep, both worked well with my other stuff as long as they weren't together.
The whole dang thing is pretty interesting and pretty accurate!
Hi, Andrea (and the rest of Rachelville)!I've been trying to keep up with you guys--boy, are you prolific these days! Sounds like lots of answers have been found. Hooray for answers!
Just so we Lymies/Wheaties/Glutenies (Gluttons?) don't think we are alone in the Treated-Badly-By-Doctors Club, a friend of mine had such an awful experience with a PODIATRIST, of all things, you'd think it was a Lyme experience!
She broke a bone in her foot. The podiatrist told her to stay off it, which she did for a month, hobbling around on a pair of crutches a friend loaned her, wearing a boot, and elevating her foot as much as possible.
She went back for her 4-week appointment, and the doctor saw her for maybe a minute, looked at the new Xray, said, "Hmm, healing slowly, see you in 4 weeks, stay off it," and left.
She called him back after she got home, because she never had the chance to ask him if it was healing at all, and should she be doing anything different?
The nurse called back, said the doctor NEVER called patients, he was too busy, and that he had told her at the appointment that the foot was WORSE.
My friend was in shock; he hadn't said anything of the kind. The nurse (who hadn't been at the appointment) insisted that he HAD. And the nurse wouldn't tell her anything different that she ought to be doing, simply said, "It says here in your chart that a friend loaned you crutches, why don't you try using them?"
Finally, my friend decided it was time for a second opinion. Can you believe, they made her jump through hoops to get her X-rays? ("You can only pick them up between 3:00 and 3:30, even though we are open all day and you requested to pick them up in the morning!") And the first orthopedist she called refused to see her if she was the podiatrist's patient!
I'm so glad a lot of you seem to have doctors who actually want you to get well!
Okay, I'm going to try posting this....(holds breath)
It really makes so much difference to have someone who is really TRYING to find out what's wrong, who listens! Good to see you back!
Donna, I checked out your toes, very nice. And keep the artwork coming.
Ha, I think I've just about had all the ones I'm willing to post...I may try to scan the Chinese and Japanese stuff I did even though it was just practice stuff.

Yay Donna! What song?
I sing with a small group at my church and they have elected me to sing a solo...never done that before. Can you say TERRIFIED!! Can you say gagacious!!!
Actually I just got an email and we have been moved to August 5! PHEW!!!!!

I need some help. I started on a new medicine about 4 days ago. It is NABUMETONE, generic for RELAFEN. I feel like I am being glutened from it. I have stopped taking it as of today to see if my symptoms change back to normal. I know am 99% sure I have not gotten any thing else that is gluten. But what I need to know is if any one knows what is in this or if any one knows where I can look on the internet to find the ingredients.
Thank you,
Grump
I found this PDF file which has all sorts of info, but it MAY depend on the non-active ingredients which probably depends on manufacturer.

How did you figure out you were intolerant to Buckwheat? (or the other things you mention in your post?)
thanks,
grey
It was kind of a combination of an elimination diet and alternative muscle type testing. I used the muscle testing to get a base diet for myself then am finding all the intolerances through adding things in a little at a time.
I actually started with an elimination diet, which works for most people, but I couldn't get to a point where I wasn't reacting to stuff, so had to search out some alternative type stuff. It turns out that most of the "safe" foods most elimination diets start with were exactly the stuff I was having a problem with. Once I cut those out and I had a good base diet of safe foods, I have been adding a new food in here and there and seeing how I react to it.
Needless to say, I try to stay as unprocessed as possible to I can tell WHAT is causing the reactions.

Okay, so maybe it's a good thing I didn't know what Munchausen was.
OMGosh!!! Super hyperventilation going on here... I may have to sing my solo as soon as June 24th! It was scarey enough when I thought I had a couple of months to go...that's like NEXT weekend.
Okay, I need everyone's expert weaseling out techniques!
-
Did anyone else have to go look up Muchausen?
-
Carla that is too funny! See, you know someone REALLY cares when they will take care of you when you're sick!
-
Rachel,
Yeah, it makes sense to be off the supplements. The only thing really different in my case though was that this time he didn't find a viral infection...last time I had some sort of viral thing happening.
I thought one of the main purposes to NOT taking the supplements before testing was to see how much your body really wants them...this time Scott found a couple more things I didn't need or my body doesn't like, BUT I'd been taking my other supplements...so maybe with those things in my system, my body didn't need the other stuff. Phew, I think I just confused myself.
I sm so excited for you to get your sauna. I really want one too...so yours is a sit down model? Cool.
Oh, and I just called to put my name on Dr. Amy's list...but Amy (the receptionist) isn't there today...some guy took my name and phone number.
Said he'd give it to Amy tomorrow.

Ah yes - wet feet, a cold drink, and a big white Adirondack!
OMGosh...I didn't even know that was there and the picture looked heavenly! Where's a dreamy smilie when you need it.
-
I wish I had those slippers! You are so lucky to have them all!
Well, I COULDN'T NOT get them...they were on sale for $7.
Oh no- not one day- more like 5 (started literally immediately after I took my first pill). Scared the heck out of me. I'm feeling a *little* better today.called my LLMD and haven't heard back. Just wondering if the first is the worst. Or if I should brace myself for ALL of them.
Yes- Carla- you can come to Camel back but Susie is MY nanny. Can you bring Morgan?
Saw your question on LN...said hello to you to keep it near the top!
-
Welcome Katheryne! Yes, I can't believe that doctor said that.
Besides the fact that Celiac is often missed, children aren't the only ones who develop it. Many, many people don't develop it until adulthood! Crazy doctors!
If you feel better without gluten, then there is your answer.
-
Jin - I actually took a Sumi-e class. It was fun. Hum, I still have all the inks, I should pull them out...can't be MUCH toxic in ink sticks can there?
Yes, the purple slippers are quite nice...haven't worn them yet though.
Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Well I found the answer to my nutriceutical question. I found a FAQ section on the manufacturer's website. Basically, I shouldn't be taking it with ANYTHING.
The reasoning behind why they said that is because the technology involved intensifies the nutriceuticals/pharmaceuticals. Whatever process they use (and I had some great snippets from the site in a Word doc temporarily, then someone bothered me at work, I dingo-d and exited out of the doc without saving)
Anyway, whatever process they use binds with stuff and causes it to be intensified. So basically don't take with any other vitamins, medicines, herbs, etc. I don't know why they just didn't SAY that.
I'm actually not supposed to take it within 30 minutes of eating either. Crazy!
Maybe, that's why the chlorella started bothering me, and actually maybe why I've had more bad D lately...everything is being intensified. I'll try taking all the capsuled supplements at work tomorrow. I usually take some before I leave the house then more at work...I'll just take them all at work, but I can't cart all the liquid stuff with me, so that'll just have to be taken close to this other stuff.
Sheesh...can't imagine how much fun it will be if I have to take antibiotics for the lyme!
Yep, that would be dingo-ing alright! Welcome to the club!
Yes, I certainly think you can molden youself...
You said molden!
Unfortunately my reactions are always delayed so I don't always associate it with the mold, but I know I get reactions from it.
OMGOsh...so glad I'm not the only one.
Very nice!!!
I will visit your link just as soon as I go look up this word.
English was/is NOT my forte!
You said malfeasance!!!
