  1. I think stainless is okay, they just have to be scrubbed well. I don't think the stainless is porous(sp??) enough to retain the gluten, so if you are cleaning them very well after making the biscuits it should be okay. I don't have a dishwasher so it seems that no matter how hard I scrub my pans I always seem to find some spot on them later, so maybe it...
  2. Yes. I work out regularly or I USED TO until the last year. I've felt so awful in the last year that it's affected my work and my work outs. Many days I was just too exhausted, some of the time it was from sinus infections, some of the time it was from joint pain, some times just felt yucky. I haven't lost weight though, I've actually gained, but hoping...
  3. Oh heck, lol. You know, I've been really dizzy and nauseated for about a month and I've been using an old non-stick pan that has a lot of scratches...I mainly use my stainless steel pans, but I pulled this one out a few weeks ago. Looks like a trip to the store is in order.
  4. Well I don't know if it's normal, but I've sure been feeling nauseated for about a month now. I just went gluten free in November and gluten/casein free in December.

    ARCHIVED Would You Believe?

Claire what a great post! Wow, this guy sounds great!
  6. I don't get up to San Francisco much, but in the South Bay Area we have PF Changs and Outback. I'm so new all all this that I haven't really ventured out to eat much yet...but I understand PF Changs and Outback each have gluten free items/menus. There is a health food store in Cupertino called Cupertino Nutrition which stock a lot of gluten-free stuff like...
  7. Hi and welcome! I'm fairly new to all this myself but I'll give my opinions on as many of your questions as I can. 1. You do need to be careful. A little bit of gluten can definitely hurt you...you may not feel the effects right away but you most assuredly will still be damaging your intestines even with a little bit, if you truly have celiac or an...
  8. I'll play too. I've been very dizzy and feeling nauseated for over a month now, and finally went to see my GP. I normally see her for annual exams and referrals to other doctors, but not much else. I think I was her last appointment of the day and had been added in that morning. Oddly, the guy who took my appointment turned out to be more concerned about...
  9. Pacific Creamy Potato Leek Soup and Thai Kitchen Rice Noodle Bowls (but be careful, they have a couple of flavors that add wheat--they'll be clearly listed in red on the label ingredients).

    ARCHIVED Disneyland

Thanks Hez, yes, we're going to Disneyland in CA! I never did call when I got home yesterday, lol. I wonder if someone is there on weekends? Thanks for the link!
  11. I have DQ8. Also have seasonal and year round allergies. I have lots of intestinal symptoms and a lot of lightheadedness and brain fog, joint pain, acid reflux, and many more, lol. I am also casein intolerant and have other sensitivities which I haven't nailed down yet. I only showed 4 slight reactions when I had my food allergy test about 3 years ago...

    ARCHIVED Disneyland

Hez, that is exciting!!! I'm going next weekend (12th)!!!! I really must call today when I get home from work. I'm going with two other friends so I'm not sure where we'll be eating (one likes fast food and burger type food, the other likes just about anything) but if they can give me an idea of which places, that would be a start! I was planning on taking...
  13. Well, I HAVE had them, but it was over a year ago and I wasn't gluten-free then so can't tell you about any reaction.

    ARCHIVED Hi

Just wanted to say welcome! Wow, I'm glad they finally found what was wrong.
  15. Okay, sorry then, I don't know...I was thinking Shingles, which is a painful rather than itchy rash that follows a nerve. You may want to have a dermatologist look at it.
  16. {{{{{hugs}}}}} I'm sorry that had to be a cyber hug. Grief is a hard thing...there's no time table to getting over it, so don't be so hard on yourself, cry as much as you want. It also makes everything else we have to deal with that much harder to deal with! I'm sorry you're feeling so bad, I hope you'll feel better soon.
  17. Wow, thanks for the link...it has some great information! Cupertino Nutrition is WONDERFUL...they are so helpful and they did indeed have a great selection. Pturse - I've had one of the Whole Foods employees joke about Whole Paycheck, so something tells me they've heard that before.
  18. Yep, I've put on about 4 or 5 pounds, but I know it's mostly because I've been eating the gluten free products instead of the basic meats, fruits and veggies. I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly!
  19. I think it's true in my case....I don't know about the egg substitutes, but I am definitely feeling like I'm going through a detox!
  20. Thank you!!!
  21. I get a burning sensation in my skin....feels like a really bad sunburn but there's no redness or rash. Does the rash go around your rib kind of like a belt? You know, in a thin strip around your waist/rib area?
  22. Bingo! And, then it becomes a serious craving, then I have to start all over again with trying to break the habit, lol.
  23. Rachel, I've sent you a PM.
