  1. I'm near San Jose. I'm with you on the not knowing what to eat. I'm going to Disneyland in about a week and a half and am terrified even though I hear it's one of the better places to eat if you have special dietary needs, lol.
  2. Better go nationwide! Seriously. We need a good restaurant.
  3. According to my Clan Thompson list Ben & Jerrys Phish, Hershey's syrup and Junior Mints are gluten free. It didn't list the Real Branch Whipped Cream (at least I couldn't find it).
  4. I noticed that you had another thread started and saw an additional question...you asked about how soon you get the results. I believe I had mine in just slightly over 2 weeks from the time I sent it in.
  5. Whether it is worth it is probably a personal decision, but I do feel it was worth it for me. I had been on a low carb diet for a few years, so any damage would have probably been hit or miss in an endoscopy. I'm not sure if a blood test would have worked because while I was basically eating low-carb I did eat some (not a lot though) low carb products which...
  6. I use Natrol "My Favorite Multiple" Original (without iron). My body is sometimes sensitive to vitamins and this seems to sit well with me.
  7. Thank you! Yes, I have a new toaster oven. I don't use makeup everyday, just on weekends and then use Bare Minerals, except for mascara which is Maybelline and a lip liner which is Mary Kay...hum, maybe I need a new lip liner. I've been using Gluten-Free Sav. soap and alternate their shampoo/conditioner with a huge bottle of Bumble & Bumble that I...
  8. Yay, improvement is really good.
  9. I was hoping I would skip this part, lol. I've been seeing so many small improvements since going gluten/casein free, but for the past few days I have been very off-balance and feeling nauseated. I'm also having some problems with low blood pressure which produces a different kind of feeling--more like the blood is draining from my head type of thing. ...
  10. I just want to send {{{{hugs}}}} to everyone! Group {{{{hug}}}!
  11. Oh I LOVE that it said a "COMMON" gastrointestinal disease!
  12. I just wanted to send you cyber {{{{{HUGS}}}}}. I've been spending a lot as well, and it definitely can get overwhelming. I do believe it gets better. I've been spending a lot on some of the foods I CAN have that I normally wouldn't eat, but have just felt like I needed to treat myself. Hopefully my "need" for those will decrease soon, lol.
  13. Hi Scott, just wanted to welcome you to the boards. I have not had that test but it seems like something I should look into.
  14. Yep, my favorites are Lara Bars and Bumble Bars. Love me a Chocolate Bumble Bar with some natural peanut butter on it.
  15. Here is the link online which explains them: Open Original Shared Link
  16. Tropical Source makes one. I found them at my local Whole Foods market. They have some very yummy flavors. My current favorite is rice crisp, but they have an almond, a hazelnut and a raspberry in my store.
  17. Not stupid at all!
  18. I've had a skin scratch test for both environmental and food allergies...my environmental test showed MANY things, and I went on weekly allergy shots to fix that. The food test only showed 4 mild reactions: canteloupe, white grapes, yellow squash and barley. The skin scratch test won't tell you whether or not you are intolerant, just whether you are allergic...
  19. Have a great cruise!
  20. Oh shoot, I think I just threw out a bunch of these...didn't even think to look at the engredients, lol. I just assumed they weren't okay for some reason.
  21. I had a skin scratch test for both environmental and food allergens...I did not show any reaction to wheat, oats or rye, but did show a slight reaction to barley. I am NOT allergic to them, but I AM DEFINITELY intolerant to them. ETA: I didn't show any reaction to milk either, but likewise, I am definitely intolerant. I have the antibodies in my system...
  22. I didn't actually vote using the buttons, because I don't seem to fit the categories, lol. I was actually "diagnosed" by Enterlab as Gluten Intolerant and Casein Intolerant. I have seen positive response to the diet and have one of the main genes predisposing one to Celiac (along with any number of stressful events in recent years to act as a trigger...
  23. I buy the 365 brand cranberry trail mix in the celophane type resealable bags...I'm wondering if those are okay...the dried fruit seems to stick together a bit so I'm hoping that means they AREN'T dusted with anything, lol. Maybe I'll have to call on those.
