  11. When I get glutened, my blood sugar spikes and I get a fever due to the hyperglycemia. The fever stays around until my blood glucose levels start coming down which may be several hours. I drink water to stay hydrated. I also take 100 mg each of thiamine and niacin which the body needs to process those extra carbohydrates.
