  1. Good point, and I agree. The point, though, is what we want them to KNOW when we go in to eat. Is there something you want your server to know about gluten free before you even walk in the door?
  2. Good Luck Girl!!!!
  3. Hi Srokie. I am not on this board too much, just pop in now and then and answer the questions I think I have an answer to, and discuss those things that I have something to add to. I just read the toilet paper/paper towel thread, so I am late to the drama, but I just want to say that I, personally, try to always add "my opinion" or "I think" just to cover...
  4. It is Texas Roadhouse. I don't want that to change your answers though. We still need to know what you would ask the server or want the server to know. (I just don't want this thread to turn into "tell your worst Texas Roadhouse story" because they are trying to get information to get BETTER and fix things!). But I do want you to know what chain it is incase...
  5. I got a phone call today from a large chain that I had previously contacted about their gluten-free menu status. They asked if I would give them a "top ten" of the questions/concerns that we deal with when eating out. They want to educate their servers and staff (so we don't get glutened for stupid reasons). I asked to have a week or two to do some research...
  6. I, too, have had great experiences at Outback, Carrabas, and Bone Fish Grill. I have had a few problems over the last year (being gluten-free), but considering how much I eat out, I have had far more experiences that were wonderful.
  7. Yeah, check them out, and you can return anything within 30 days if you don't like it. So if they give you an upset stomach or something, then just take them back. Some people have a hard time with vitamins while their gut is healing. I really like how "local" they are. I don't have to go out of town! Plus, I know that they are backed by a HUGE company. Hope...
  8. I don't know about the liquid iron, but GNC B12 is gluten-free. Check them out. Good price. They might have the liquid iron too.
  9. I take GNC!!! Regular, at the local mall, no big deal, no shipping, and they are gluten free (says all of this clearly on the label), "No Artificial Color, No Artificial Flavors, No Preservatives, Sodium Free, No Wheat, No Gluten, No Dairy, Yeast Free" is exactly what it reads. Lame Advertisement I take the prenatal, since I hope to be pregnant soon. Love...
  10. I have to take my vitamins in the AM or I will not be able to sleep, because I get an energy surge. I also (like bluejeangirl) recommend taking them in the AM and see if that helps. Also, take them with food, which will help with absorption (something with FATS, like olive or flax oil, for the fat soluble vitamins, and WATER for the water soluble ones). ...
  11. I agree. I don't know what I am missing here, but if you have trush, you need Diflucan (generic: fluconazole). It is ONE pill (though you might need two if it is bad). If you don't get it under control, it will spread, and be BAD. ONE PILL will fix it, if it IS thrush. Note: Many (actually, most) antibiotics will kill the normal, healthy bacteria that...
  12. Thats ok! I'm fine. I really only took a couple (I can never remember to take those pesky vitamins!). I got GNC's again. I used to use those, and switch, and I just went back. They say gluten free right on the label, along with suger free, soy free, dairy free, etc. Works for me!
  13. I haven't had a problem like that. More than anything else, some solutions make my eyes itchy and dry feeling. The only time I get the pink-eye looking effect is around cats . Sorry Lynn!
  14. If I were you, I would keep a stock of Diflucan on hand! That will kill the thrush. Might help with the eyes, but I don't know. That is more the opth. field.
  15. I just want to add, that the place I went to in Vegas (can't remember the name, but it is a sushi place in the MGM Grand, really nice, really expensive, next to Emerils New Orleans Fish House) the cook came out and told me about the vinegar. I didn't ask many questions, just said "ok, what should I order then?" and he said he would make me "special rice"...
  16. Have you contacted the direct company that you see on the RX bottle?? I doubt that there is gluten in the flavoring, but you never know. Most often the stomach problems are caused by the antibiotic itself. The antibiotic kills the healthy flora in the intestine and will disrupt the normal digestion process. But if you are still worried, look for the manufacturer...
  17. HI there Judy! From what I understand, you can get it anywhere, but you have to "transfer" it there. Meaning, you would have to have touched the area that you have it now, and then touched your eyes. If you are on Diflucan, it will kill it on your eyes also. (That is a one time pill. It is pink. Fluconazole is the generic name.) I don't think there is an...
  18. I don't remember which one it was, and I took it back to Whole Foods, so I don't have the bottle, but I had it next to the computer screen when I was typing the post. I know it was Rainbow Light, and it was the prenatal. I remember that they wanted me to take SEVERAL a day, so I don't think it was a "one" multi. Sorry I don't still have the bottle!!! I just...
  19. I know I am REALLY late, but Eye Drops can not contain gluten. Gluten is not sterile, and is not isotonic (as eye drops must be to be placed in the eye area). Something that is isotonic will be able to pass through/into/around mucus membranes. There for it must be a certian salt/water ratio, so as not to change the blood pressure/salt content of the blood...
  20. I ate at a Sushi place in Vegas (in the MGM Grand)...can't remember the name....anyway the sushi chef was really great, and he told me that their rice was NOT gluten free, based on my dining card, b/c they used a MALTED(?) water/juice for the rice, to make it taste better and make it stickier. He did make me special rice with plain water.
  21. Welcome Better Belly! I am so glad that you are feeling better on a gluten free diet! I know that for ME, I went gluten-free before having tests done, and then had to eat gluten to have the blood tests, and it was so horrible to eat it again after not eating it for a while (as it sounds like you went through over the holidays). After my blood work I went...
  22. (I can't remember everyone that I have chatted with over the last year, but thank you all so much for your advice and your help. I do remember those listed above, but I KNOW that I am forgetting some people.....) I have been gluten free for a year now and I just want to thank Scott and all of the wonderful board members who answered my silly questions...
  23. Someone here recomended Rainbow Light Prenatal Vitamins. I got a bottle, and on the back, in VERY small print, it lists Wheat Grass (300 mg) and Barley Grass (300 mg). I know some people consider wheat grass to be gluten free, but there was a recent article about how wheat grass may contain gluten, and should be avoided (I think it was in Living Without)...
  24. Ursula and Georgie, Just wanted to let you guys know that I was diagnosed with hasimotos thyroiditis (sp? it is late....). The doc is calling me tomorrow with the lab values. I actually saw two docs. The first appt with the first doc's PA, so I go back to see that doc in a week. The second appt was with a different doc, and she diagnosed me on the spot, and...
