  1. Can't you order sorghum flour online? Anyway there are a lot of other flours but I haven't looked for a match in this case. I'd guess you'd want to look at the fiber, carbs and protein content, and see what is close to it. Of course the taste/texture it imparts will matter, but that's probably more subject to preference.   4. I can relate to this issue. For me it turned out to be nightshades, as odd as that may sound. Took me a long long time to figure it out too But the muscle/joint pains, and the twitching and spasms that accompanied the C were a nightmare I never want to see again.   7. The deficiencies will vary from person to person, but it seems all of us need to get more of something or other in order to keep from having even more problems. That's the nature of a compromised gut. I doubt anyone can tell you which nutrients you lack without a ton of tests, and even then I doubt it would be entirely accurate. Your doctor shouldn't say...

  9. I had something similar, along with joint pains/weakness, and even spasms until somewhat recently. I found out it was caused by nightshades. It's taking awhile, but I usually don't have that problem now. I'm sure it's different for everybody though. One thign I know is that the toxins in nightshades are bad for everyone, just that most people don't notice...

  12. Mine are completely gone! Though for me it was largely due to yeast. If your gluten-free diet contains specialty/prepared foods, you might want to watch out for yeast and/or MSG. The latter is often imparted into such foods by way of a yeast ingredient. They do this purposely so they don't have to say MSG on the label. Here's some info for you to consider...

  16. I was looking up something and ran into a reference to a root vegetable that seems a lot like a potato, only it isn't from the nightshade family. It's called "Corm". The description makes it sound like it would taste similar to potato, only somewhat sweeter. Might this be a good alternative to the common potato? I'm thinking it is! That would be so great...

  19. I'd never do that since nutrient absorption is already troublesome. Without proper, complete nutrients each day I pay for it. And one of the first things is a slowdown of the gut. So in my case there'd be nothing cleansing about it.
  20. Interesting. I had not given it much if any thought, but I've been grinding my teeth for years - 24/7 too. But now that I've been gluten-free, and figuring out the other no-no's in my diet, it has noticeably lessened. If I eat the wrong stuff it begins to increase along with the other symptoms.

Sounds like a good excuse to pile on blueberries, blackberries, and others onto rice cereal, desserts, or just a yummy snack.   24. Oh? I never noticed fresh meat turning like that on the inside, but then I never kept it a week either! The suggestions I've heard are that even cooked meat shouldn't be kept more than four days. Fresh is like two days or something unless it's frozen, though it has been awhile since I have purchased or eaten any. I think I recall seeing some meat get forgotten...
