  1. I also live within a half an hour from the park. I will agree with the previous sentiments about bringing your own food. It is way too expensive and it isnt good at all. The last time I was in there, they now have a McDonalds and such, but even that is more expensive than any other Mickey D's I have seen. (not that we would eat there anyway) But like...
  2. I am sorry.. I had to giggle a bit when I read this topic. I no longer work, I am a stay at home mommy. When I was at work, before I was dx that happened all the time to me! I thought I was the only woman in the world it happened to! I worked for Wegmans, so you can imagine my alone time to "relieve" my pain! I was in constant contact with the public...

  8. I wanted to go to a restaurant that I had been to before on my birthday. I called a few days in advance to make sure they could accomodate me with a gluten free meal. I got the response "Whats gluten?" well this did not make me feel good about the place. I then took a moment to explain in laymans terms what gluten free meant. He then proceeded to say...

  10. I have been gluten free since Oct 2005. It took a while to be able to digest even the simpliest of foods. I think everyone is different. The one thing that this board helped me get thru and remind me time after time, is that it does get better. It may take some time.. but you will feel better. Welcome! Any questions you may have, just post them...
  11. Thank you for the list. I am printing it out and leaving a copy in my purse.
  12. I heard a show on tv stating that strawberries are in the top 10 of allergens people can have! I had no idea that they were like that. So maybe it was the berries.
  13. wow! sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. I hope you feel better soon. Thank you for the info on the store brands of acid reducer. 14. I too, "only" have celiacs. I guess I am amongst the lucky ones for just this one problem so far. Right after my hospital stay and diagnosis, I was a bit intolerant to a lot of different foods. I am pretty sure that was just b/c of the mess in my intestines. I hope to stay this way. Tinkerbell
  15. It is the same with me. I have no quick remedies or solutions. I just have to ride it out. I hope you feel better soon and enjoy your birthday! Have a great one!!!
  16. I have read on here that we can have grits. I have been using the Quaker instant with no adverse effects. I have been reading though that Quaker is a major source of CC. So, my question is can someone point me in the direction of another brand of grits that may be a bit safer? I found I like grits a lot and its something different for breakfast. Thanks...
  17. Lisa- Again you are such a strong woman! When I was in college I didnt know what was wrong with me. I just missed classes with no real excuse. I didnt do well at all. 20. For my sons first birthday party, I am doing some dishes myself too. I am making my gluten free staple, sausage and peppers w/ onions. You can make that with or without red gravy.. they always make a great hit for me. Another half tray I have decided to do is kielbasa with sauerkraut. A yummy alternative to regular sweet italian sausage. Those are the...

  22. We can have autolyzed yeast.. its the torgula yeast we must stay away from. I made that mistake once, I wont do it again!
  23. Thanks for all the help!
  24. I ate the most wonderful chicken salad from Whole Foods deli. I had no adverse reactions to it. I feel just as comfortable there as I would at a restaurant. Actually I feel a bit safer there, they at least know all about cross contamination. Tinkerbell
  25. I have been having an issue with my hands and being dry. This year has been particulary worse than previous years. I think it may have something to do with my celiacs. My question is what type of over the counter lotions can I use to help with the dryness? I dont know which lotions are safe. Any help would be appreciated! Tinkerbell
