  1. Me too - only mine feels more like a sword than a stick.
  2. I have been gluten-free for 2 years about 4 months ago I started vomiting in the middle of meals - every meal . I was diagnosed with GERD and am on medication. I'm down to throwing up once a month.
  3. Cornflakes with tuna and mayo. I first did that about 20 years ago when that's all I had to eat. It's good. I also like cream cheese as a dip for potato chips.

    ARCHIVED Amazing

This site has been a wonderful blessing for me. People who know what I'm going thru without me having to spend (make that waste) time explaining why certain things are a problem. It's helped my mental health so much - I don't feel like a alien being who got left on the wrong planet at birth. (Surely there is a planet out there that is completely gluten...
  5. I confess I'm a life long teeth grinder too! My childhood dentist used to accuse my mother of feeding me rock sandwiches.
  6. I've been gluten-free 2 years - I don't cheat. The consequences of cheating are so dire that it doesn't enter into the realm of possibility.
  7. I had a problem with Dove so I ended up buying homemade soap from a guy here in town.
  8. Harvest Muffins page 51. It's good as muffins and as a cake. We used a bundt cake pan.
  9. Okay, I've got another story. Today, I thought I would call the people who run food services where I work and ask if they knew what I could eat. (My schedule is screwy on Thursdays and I'm tired of eating cold leftovers - they don't clean the microwave at work so I can't use it). I asked the woman "What do you have that is gluten free?" She said "You...
  10. If I was too tired to cook I would take Vincent's suggestion and go buy one. Otherwise I would do as Nini suggested bake a gluten free cake. I had a gluten-free cake for my birthday and it was so good the gluttons who could eat gluten tried to eat it all. The recipe was from "Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Cookbook for Kids and Busy Adults" by Connie Sarros.
  11. I can't have sugar so Pamela's cakes aren't for me. My favorite gluten-free sugar free recipe for cake is the Harvest Muffins in "Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Cookbook for Kids and Busy Adults" by Connie Sarros. It is wonderful. Everytime it's made I have to fight my family and friends to get a piece (I'm the only gluten-free person).
  12. I have the small problem. I wear clothes that are too big in the morning, but by the evening they either fit just right or a little tight. I'm gluten free too. It's really frustrating. Hope someone has the answer. I feel like the Michelin man.
  13. Charlotte, I thought I knew until you said no pain. I have fibromyalgia. I'm stiff as a board at first, but once I get walking I usually can walk it out, but there is pain involved. Canary
  14. Great article! I had the same reaction you did Nini - no birthday cake - that's so not true. I just had a birthday a few weeks ago and had a wonderful gluten-free cake.
  15. My co-workers often will offer me cake, cookies, crackers...etc. The offers slowed down a lot when I stopped saying "No, thank you." and asking "Do you hate me that much, that you want to kill me?" They ALL know I can't eat that stuff - they just somehow think it's polite to offer me poision.
  16. Congratulations just doesn't seem to be appropriate. Welcome to my world seems a tab sarcastic. How about – glad you have been validated by having a professional confirm what you already knew. That doesn’t quite get it either does it. Oh well, my heart is in the right even if my words are quite right. Canary p.s. I thought of ano...
  17. Colgate's toothpaste for sensitive teeth is gluten-free.
  18. I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. It was close enough for my swiss cheese brain to get the point.
  19. Well, CeliaCruz, all I know for sure is... she isn't my uncle.
  20. ChelsE, You are too funny!!! I too have a problem with thinking. I've been gluten-free for 2 years now and it's starting to get better. I still could use a lot of improvement. Good news: I no longer get lost coming back from the grocery store (it's 2 blocks down and 1 block over). I sometimes have to describe the word I'm looking for i.e. Isn't...
  21. This has great potential! Wish there was a way to adapt it to use in a restaurant.
  22. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all we had to do was stay away from celery?
  23. Of course I asked. I also have mind fog - I just don't remember if it was baked or fried. I did explain about cross-contamination. I got the cook and the manager involved. I told the wait staff to bring my food out separately from all the other people's at my table - and they did. I am very very careful. The manager each time came to my table to talk...
  24. So did my mother when I told her
  25. I had a co-worker ask me the other day about Celiac and what it was. I was so thrill that he cared enough to ask that I was happy to explain. And then...when I told him that it was genetic he said that means your mother and father were related right? This from a man with a masters degree. I had to wait a few days to gain perspective before I posted this...
