  1. Mamaw, What a wonderful post. In the middle of everything that we go through it is important to step back and look at the big picture. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Tracy
  2. Did these go flat on anyone besides me? Maybe I kept checking too much? Approximately how long did you bake them? I have them in the oven now..........
  3. I don't think I was clear in my original post. Most shapes are available in both organic and rice bran. The only reason I noticed the difference is because the way the store had them displayed. I just want to be sure to buy the type that has the best taste and texture (regardless of shape). From reading this thread it doesn't sound like there is much...
  4. I had my GI appointment Friday and as I anticipated he now wants a liver biopsy, specifically to determine if I have PBC. (This is what I have suspected my liver problem is and it has taken since my first appointment in June to finally get to the point of a biopsy). I searched this board and saw a few postings from a couple of years ago, but I am curious...
  5. Open Original Shared Link Here's a link to Ener-G website. They are a sponsor on this board and you can find a link on the message board page if mine doesn't work. You can order directly from them - there is even a section for those living in Canada - I did not read it though. I have been eating the Tapioca and after I tried the Papa's Loaf I have...
  6. Most of the shapes were available in both organic and rice bran (both are brown rice). I wasn't sure what the diff was. I bought organic since I wasn't sure what rice bran would be. Thanks for your input. Tracy
  7. I finally found some Tinkyada pasta and could not decide whether to buy the Organic or the type with rice bran. For those of you who are loyal Tinkyada customers, which type is the best?
  8. I am in gluten-free heaven! Yesterday, after my GI appt in Columbus, we journeyed up to Westerville to check out the Raisin Rack. I printed the map that is on their website but it was not a very good one for those not familiar with the area. Needless to say we took the scenic route(s) I bought four six-packs of Bards Tale (#1 priority), some awesome...
  9. I think the Tapioca is OK. I have to tell you though - I but another EnerG type of bread yesterday and it is AWESOME! It is called Papa's Loaf. I just made a grilled cheese sandwich and I cannot believe how good it was! The slices are closer to traditional white bread than the Tapioca.
  10. I have been on Dapsone for a year now. I take 75 mg a day and have tried numerous dosages - anything from one 25mg pill per day to finally taking three 25 mg pills per day (all at once). This seemed to be the magic combination for me - but as you both said everyone is different. I have tried to go off of it a few times and within 2 or 3 days of stopping...
  11. I am the same way - I have been lucky though that the itching is not as frequent. Last night and this morning was really bad though. Mine is mostly my calves/shins and my feet. My feet drive me crazy - I do the twist on the roughest carpet that I have in my house - my fiance thinks I am nuts I take Zyrtec every day and that has helped some, but...
  12. Nini - can describe what Yogos are? I have never heard of them. Thanks, Tracy
  13. Happy birthday Deb - I hope you have a great 50th - and many more! Tracy
  14. Lip Rescue with Shea Butter, made by Desert Essence is really good. I have not called the company, but all ingredients look ok. I had a terrible time a few months ago with really, really, dry lips that nothing helped - until I tried this. I bought it at my local health food store and it is also available online.
  15. Mamaw, So sorry it wasn't what you had hoped. But at least you got to buy some good stuff! And tell Rocket I thought he did a mighty-fine job typing! Broncobux - I am going to Columbus on the 17th for my GI appointment and we are planning on trying out one of Cameron Mitchell's restaurants. I saved all the info that you posted a few weeks ago...
  16. Mamaw and others - how was the Columbus Conference? I missed it if you posted an update. Hope you had a blast! Tracy
  17. Many people with Celiac Disease have many skin issues. DH is typically symmetrical, raised, and oozing blisters that are intensely itchy. I say typically because there are some people that do not have symmetrical breakouts. Mine were typical - both arms, both legs, etc. DH has an itch that cannot be relieved - the more you scratch the worse it gets. ...
  18. I am finishing my Bachelor's Degree and just have a few more classes left (yippee!). I put off Public Speaking because like many people, I have never been comfortable speaking in front of a group of people. I just had my last class today and thought I would share my experience with you. We had to do three speeches - a demonstration, an informative, and...
  19. WHEW! Thank you psawyer and Richard - you are always there with the facts. The day that I find out that I cannot have Hershey's is the day my life is over Tracy
  20. I have DH and for the most part my itching has subsided. But, it seems like it comes back every period. I scratched my legs and feet so much the other night I have bruises. (This was a common occurrence every day before being diagnosed.) I have not kept track but I think I need to start a journal of what I eat and how I feel each day.
  21. Here's another one - what about ice cubes? We have an ice maker but it is internal. I am sure that other ice cubes get touched besides the ones that are actually making it into someone's glass. I cringe every time someone reaches for the ice. I am about ready to quit using it.
  22. Thanks. After my GI appt on the 17th I hope he gives up and refers me. If not I am going to have my GP refer me to someone else. My GP is the one that sent me the GI for my liver issues and also enlarged lymph nodes in my abdominal cavity. After 2 CT Scans, an MRI, and numerous blood tests, I hope this guy gives up. He wanted a 3rd CT scan and I...
  23. Mine are high also - have been for about 5 years, with Alk Phos being the highest (677 vs. normal range of 45 - 126). I have had many tests also, and go back to my GI 11/17. I hope he sends me to a surgeon like he mentioned last time I was there ...... I am so disgusted with this.
  24. Karen, I looked at the Delphi List this morning before I posted and I know what you mean that it is confusing. The container that I bought is 32 oz. which is not on the Delphi List. But reading the ingredients it appears to be ok. Thanks, Tracy
  25. I am so glad that you asked this question! I have been searching and have not found the answer. I have a carton of Swanson Chicken Broth - 32 oz size - and I have not been able to find anything. Reading the label, everything looks OK, but I thought that Swanson was not safe (don't know why I thought this). Thanks for asking - and thanks for the information...
