You know, I had suggested that to him a while back, I thought it was a great idea. He told me that if I did that I would have to get rid of our On Demand HBO/Cinemax/Showtime. I know, I know, he's like the hardest person to buy for. He's kind of very practical, anti luxury... I already bought him a water cooler for his shop, a c.d. he wanted, a box set for...

I would LOVE to give him a day off. Unfortunately, there's no way. Racing season is about to start and he's already about two weeks behind on systems to deliver. No one else can do the wiring harnesses but him, so he HAS to work. It really sucks. I was thinking about maybe having her give him a gift certificate for the movies. He always wants to take her...

ARCHIVED How Do I Add A Coment Under My Avatar?

I think you have to have a certain number of posts before it lets you... I'm not sure though. Are those your girls? They're beautiful! -
ARCHIVED American Idol Fans?

Yeah, Chris S. has worn thin on me too. I used to be a huge fan, but now I just think he's kind of boring. There's something about his voice that irks me. I don't know what it is. Too bad, he cracks me up... Maybe he'll get a talk show or something. I'd watch. -

Sanjaya... Well... There's just nothing I can say other than I HOPE HE'S GOING HOME THIS WEEK!!! I actually didn't really like Blake's performance this week. It bored me. And I really like the Cure, but I just didn't like it. I mean, it was ok and I was glad he didn't beat box. I think that would have ruined that song. I just thought he could have done... -
ARCHIVED Do I Really Need Potato Starch?
Guhlia replied to boho*mama's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I agree with Larry. Just use more tapioca starch, the same amount you would have used for potato starch. I think that will work nicely. I've done that before in recipes and couldn't really tell a difference. -
Amy, being a teacher, do you think the other kids would make fun of a kid named Gunther (Gunn, Gunny)? I really like the name. The more I think about it, the more I like it. Keep those ideas coming guys. I'm hoping something will jump out and grab me.

Okay, I have everything for my husband's birthday, but I can't think of anything to get him from our three year old daughter. This is a special birthday, he's turning 40, so I need to think of something special to get him. He's not sentimental, he works at home (no desk for pictures of her), he doesn't like sports or going out or anything like that, he doesn...

How about that weather today?!?!?! It was spectacular outside today! My thermometer is reading 77 right now. It was very warm and wonderful. It's a shame Tori had school today. It would have been the perfect day to play outside all day long. We like to have picnics in the driveway. So... Only an hour and a half until Idol! I can't wait to see what Blake... -

As others have said, you can replace with corn starch. You may find that it changes the texture though. I generally don't like things made with corn starch. -
ARCHIVED 1st Party Invite For Celiac 3 Yr Old

Try the New York Style Foldable Pizza Crust recipe that's floating around. It's the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. It's even better with some Hormel pepperoni on the top. Yum! I bake for 25 mins, then top and bake another 10 minutes. I've found this to be sufficient. It really is the best pizza recipe I've tried yet, including any of the... -
I'm actually hoping that people will give their opinions, both good and bad. I'd rather hear bad things about a name before I name him that rather than after. BTW, I think Stratton is cute for a little boy. Also, very regal for a grown man. I tend to like those kinds of names, like the last name names, Spencer, Mason, Carter, Cooper... All cute.

:) I think my husband would probably strangle me if I named our kid that. :)

ARCHIVED What To Do With The 'pharmacy'
Guhlia replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Definitely don't flush them. I just read an article in last month's Parents magazine about how to dispose of old meds. It said to not flush them. Perhaps they have the article online??? -
We've been really watching initials. Luckily, middle name selection will be the only issue. Like GAG, BAG, SAG, FAG... We just need to mostly stay away from middle names that start with vowels. Amanda, if we name him Donovan, it will be Donovan Axel. Then he can share Don's initials, DAG. I'm really open to suggestions because we just can't narrow...

I thought Melinda looked much less surprised by the judges compliments this week than in previous weeks. I really like her style. She's so confidant when she's singing. Her voice gives me goose bumps. Only ONE more day 'til Idol!!! -
If we named him Gunther, we would call him Gunn or Gunny for a nickname. We have a very German last name, Guhl (pronounced ghoul, like the halloween type), so it's hard to find a good combination. I like the way Gunther sounds with Guhl. I'm set on Annika for the girl. I want to call her Annie when she's little, then she can grow into Nikki, Nika, or Annika...

Ok, so I'm pretty sure we're having a boy, we'll hopefully find out in a few weeks at my last ultrasound. If it's a girl I'm naming her Annika Emily. We're undecided on a boy's name. I'm kind of leaning towards Gunther Henry after our grandparents. Is that a cruel name for a child? Any additional suggestions would really be appreciated. We really can't make...

ARCHIVED Dog Shampoo
Guhlia replied to wowzer's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My vet recommended using baby shampoo. Many baby shampoos are gluten free. He told me to dilute the baby shampoo with plenty of water and then use that. I think we have a vet on board here, so perhaps she'll have a better solution. -
Either you're not inserting it far enough or you may have to do kegel exercises (sp?) to tighten up your muscles so that it will stay in place.

ARCHIVED Hors Duorves Ideas For Party
Guhlia replied to bhart's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have a fantastic recipe for mexican dip. It's good hot or lukewarm, though it won't keep for too long since it has meat in it. I'm sure it would be fine for a birthday party. We use tostitos for dipping into it. Open Original Shared Link For the taco seasoning I use McCormick's mild taco seasoning packet. For the salsa I use Pace. I then top it... -
I don't have anything of substance to add. I just wanted to say I am sooooo jealous... I love the Franklin Institute!!!

Here are my ideas... Is your prescription gluten free (some aren't)? Did anyone else dip anything else into the sour cream or salsa. Tostitos could be a very likely source of CC. Did anyone else eat them while eating a sandwich or pretzels? Plus, Tostitos, while being naturally gluten free, are not gauranteed to be gluten free (CC). Do you have gluten eaters...
