  1. Is there something wrong with tongue piercing in some areas? I've had my tongue pierced for almost 10 years and it's very common where I'm from.
  2. Also, Hersheys has changed their gluten policy. They used to say that they would clearly list gluten on the package. Now they say you have to call each and every time to check the gluten status of a particular item.
  3. I just thought this was so cute, I had to share... My daughter has been having a really rough time with her lunch today. First, she dropped her fork on the floor. Then, she dropped a forkful of macaroni on the floor. Then, she stabbed herself in the cheek with the fork. Then, she choked on her milk and spit it out all over herself. Finally, she started...
  4. I'm actually not very surprised that Gina went home. There's always a really good person that gets voted off early. This year it was Gina. It's sad, but this is generally the turnaround point for voting. From now on things shouldn't be nearly as weird with vote-offs and such. At least, that's generally the way it works.
  5. I was suprised too that Gina got cut. I thought for sure it would be Haley with the two of them standing there. I thought last night was one of Gina's strongest performances. I especially can't believe that Chris R., Haley, and Sanjaya beat her out. That's just SO not cool. But... I guess I'm happy because Blake and Melinda are still there. If Blake gets...

    ARCHIVED Starbucks

Hmmm... We just got a brand new Starbucks in my town. I haven't been there yet because I'm pregnant and trying to avoid caffeine, but I wonder if they have that gluten free brownie. I may have to go check.
  7. I think it's a combination of the caffeine and the high doses of B vitamins in those things. I'm not sure though. I just know that a few people on the board recommended it to me when I get glutened and I tried it and it worked. It didn't make the D go away, but it sure did help with the mood swings, the fatigue, and the brain fog. It helped more than I would...

    ARCHIVED Rain Forest Cafe

Actually, there were two restaurants in Downtown Disney that did not have gluten free items, one of those didn't know what gluten was until I finally got a manager on the phone who just told me no, we don't do that here. And the items available at Rainforest Cafe were very limited. We were able to choose from a couple of fish selections, steak, and chicken...
  9. Red Bull is also an awesome tool for getting through a glutening. It doesn't stop the symptoms, but it sure does help.
  10. Sanjaya second?!?!?!? Ugh... I will be so po'd if that happens!!! Though I agree that Blake should win. He's awesome. I haven't really enjoyed him the past two weeks though. Been kind of bored with him, but I'm sure he'll step up his game soon. The last two weeks have just been really boring mostly cuz of the songs they had to choose from. Anybody know...
  11. I can see this popping up on YouTube... Jerry, find a video camera and make us a rap!
  12. She will be in our thoughts and prayers. Please let her know that we are all thinking of her and sending her well wishes.
  13. Thanks for your responses. There's a little girl that I care about very much who was just diagnosed with apraxia. She is tiny in size (I think she's still wearing 18month clothing at 2-1/2), constipated all the time, eats like a horse with no gain in height or weight, and only has a few words at 2-1/2 years old. I absolutely adore this little girl, but I...
  14. Oh my gosh, Betty, I soooooo would have come from PA to meet Sundance!!! He was one of my favorites on the show since the auditions! I'll be buying his c.d. as soon as it comes out!
  15. Is everyone gluten free? If so, will they have a fridge in their hotel room? If so, one loaf of Kinnikinnick bread, one toaster (easy to travel with), a super pack of oscar meyer lunch meat, a pack of cheese, one box of cereal (they can buy milk wherever they go), fruit, potato chips, gluten free pretzels and peanut butter, raisins, and Lara or Kind bars...
  16. Oh my gosh, Melinda was AWESOME!!! I think that was probably my favorite performance of the whole season so far! Even better than some of Blake's!!! Gina was totally awesome too. I really wish Chris R. would go home. I think I'd almost rather sit through Sanjaya at this point. He just bores me to tears. Jordin was awesome too tonight.
  17. Yeah, that does kind of suck. Especially since they won't pass the savings onto the consumer. Greedy, greedy, greedy...

    ARCHIVED Rain Forest Cafe

We were at the one in Orlando at Downtown Disney. Typical of all Disney restaurants, they accomodated my gluten free family. I don't know if other Rainforest Cafes would be that accomodating though. BTW, my daughter was terrified!!! The only thing that got us through that meal without major tears was the ENORMOUS slushie I ordered her. I know, I know, a slushie...
  19. Momma goose, I e-mailed Hard Rock Cafe about a month ago and they told me that they absolutely cannot cater to those choosing a gluten free diet. They were actually kind of rude I thought.
  20. Welcome to the forum! Don't forget about the silly little stuff like hand/body lotion, makeup, shampoo, hair mousse, lip gloss/chap stick, old cutting boards, etc... Those are easy places to get glutened in addition to what Amanda said.
  21. What are they doing to Hershey? Yeah, I've been trying not to support Hershey Foods ever since they said they would no longer be listing gluten containing ingredients clearly. Ugh... That made me mad. But, I'm still craving a Skor bar.
  22. Woo-Hoo!!!
  23. I was so in love with fun dip back in the day. That was my candy of choice. Well, that and Skor bars. Are Skor bars gluten free? I am SO majorly having a craving for one now!
  24. I went on the Willy Wonka website and this is their gluten disclaimer:
  25. I should have mentioned in my earlier post that, in my opinion, Kinnikinnick has the best flours. For some reason my baked goods turn out with a much better texture if I'm using Kinnikinnick flour rather than another brand. I don't know if their rice flour is finer or what, but I always like it better. Also, sometimes I sub some brown rice flour for 1 part...
