  2. Hi Freesa, I get numb mostly my upper left arm and my big toes on each foot with gluten and fall out from gluten. 20 years ago of course before I knew of my issues I had a wonderful chiropractor who told me about Epsom salt baths. Prior to that I always loved baths but never took an Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) bath. Once I tried them I was hooked...
  3. Welcome Cheryl IA, I too avoid oats. In fact since childhood I hated oats. I spent 20 years thinking I was IBS, but in 2016 a gi Dr said no that diagnosis was not correct . In fact many former diagnoses were incorrect. I was unable to finish my gluten challenge past day 6, and since then my intolerance s are a plenty. In fact today I determined I can...
  4. Wow some of those sound so good I think I get why people are eating them. All joking aside, she left out that people can make their own or use basics like the African black soap and not shell out $68. She also could have mentioned that sometimes it's not that one can get in the mouth, but an immune system on high alert may not deal well with a lot of additives...
  5. Getting pretty heated everyone. Deep breath . Don't forget we are here to help and support one another. You all make valid points that are from each person's experience and perspective. Wise people can decipher the difference and apply all your posts as needed. Hopefully my comment helps to mediate not further inflame the fire. Some are able to take...
  6. Hi and welcome. I was told I had Gastritis and Barrett s esophagus as well upon immediate follow up after my endoscopy/colonoscopy. I was put on ppi' s and zyrtec prior to my celiac gluten challenge. I am never certain what role they played in my testing stage or results. I do know my symptoms while on the two were not as extreme bloating wise but...
  7. I am not diagnosed POTS. I believe I have a body that can be subclinical test wise and that fights hard to maintain homeostasis which has its positives but not so much in western medicine. I am enigma test wise and then get diagnosed with one of the top 10 misdiagnosed/celiac diagnosis. I think I'm 8 out of 10. I haven't pushed tor POTS testing as I couldn...
  8. Thanks Ennis. An issue at the heart of AWOL. I know the FDA tries, but often I fear that due to budget restraints etc the issue requires the village GFWD says. I believe some companies can be confused and delayed about understanding allergies, celiac, food intolerance s, and the need for transparency and vigilance in labeling for consumers. Sometimes I fear...
  9. I don't personally drink it. I am unable to drink alcohol of any kind since my gluten challenge. My husband who is NOT celiac drinks this since my illness sensitivy has made us a completely gluten free home. He tried many Beers gluten-free sorghum based or gluten removed. He enjoys Daura the best. The gluten removed he reports taste better. It does...
  10. I have had a variety of cats in my lifetime. I was raised with dogs and cats, but cats and I seem best suited. Many do enjoy the window more than tv, but I do find most like when I watch nature based shows especially about the big cats. If they hear the big cats they do sit with interest. They especially enjoy the hunting scenes or the social calls amongst...
  11. Hello I was misdiagnosed for 25 years as IBS before I realized with my husbands help I was celiac. I believe I was celiac longer than that. This was coupled with simultaneously and unbeknownst to me my cousins gold standard 2 year quest to confirm her celiac diagnosis. That's the back story As for my recent 2016 gluten challenge after 3 1/2 yrs gluten...
  12. This link is from 2013 so be sure to verify with your local AMC ask if they will show you the package Open Original Shared Link even if it is gluten-free I would caution on the possible cc. The local amc near me sells ice cream with cones and hot pretzels that are in the same counter area. good luck
  13. Thanks Ravenswood. I need the strength and encouragement to keep going. The last sessions fall out was 4 days of my body revolting on a nervous system level. I'll look into your acupressure book suggestion. I have done sinus acupressure for myself and my daughter for years but did not explore more. In the past when gluten-free my fibromyalgia...
  14. Thank you RMJ. It is helpful to hear kind/ encouraging words. From my symptoms I likely have had (undiagnosed) fibromyalgia for over 20 years, my celiac (misdiagnosed as IBS I likely had longer) Additionally, in 2016 I was diagnosed with Barrett s esophagus and multiple food intolerance s as well as gluten being an issue. Thanks for the link...
  15. After my crash and burn gluten challenge of 2016, I wander off yet again Into the land of eastern and alternative medicine to heal. While I am grateful to many (not all) western medicine Dr s of the past , for the past 2 decades the ones who give me relief for my lifetime ails are the alternative/eastern practitioners. I'm not starting a debate as both branches...
  16. Thanks for giving us the heads up. My gluten and corn issues make this place a land mine for me , I have not eaten in there in years. This is great info for others to know for it was at one time one of a few potential options (with the burrito bowl option ) in the fast food world someone could watch them make your food upfront.
  17. I still have difficulty drinking alcohol since my 2016 gluten challenge. I can't even do wine which was just fine and a go to drink prior to challenge. I can't even do watered down wine. My gi tract dislikes every attempt. Not sure if I'll ever be able to imbibe again. I hope things improve for you soon.
  18. Happy weekend Ennis. To me -I ponder your question and go conspiracy theorist. Could it be more people are celiac/ncgs and try the diet in frustration due to sub par testing parameters for MDs or MDs that test at inappropriate times, tests, etc. Desperate go gluten-free. themselves. Still much to be done there testing wise . yeah one should look out for...
  19. Hi Kathleen, Sorry you are unwell. I find recovery is slow for me (gluten challenge/testing 2016) this time around versus the first went gluten-free in 2012. It's much harder in my opinion since my body had dialed downed my immune system for 3 1/2 years. I had to really simplify my diet it is still nowhere near pre 2016. I have tried alcohol on only...
  20. "Traditional literature I've read (in passing, as a nurse) said diarrhea was a defining feature, but now I've read that that's not true... ie.; I thought I couldn't have celiac disease, because I thought you had to have diarrhea. That was the main reason I never considered it a possibility." That's why some of us were diagnosed IBS amongst other things...
  21. Ditto as cycling lady says. However not to bring scary to horror level but.... I too am glad about them too but my fear is sometimes quite a bit of damage can be done to more people then their should be etc. Before that recall occurs. Transparency, vigilance of sourcing and testing, and proper record keeping. The regulator can't regulate if the above...
  22. Emma 6 gave you great info on your test question. I just wanted to say I am sorry for your losses . I hope that you are able to get the help and healing needed to move forward to better health and future conception. I look forward to the day you post that things are progressing in a positive way in your desire for a family. I went through 3 pregnancies...
  23. Hello and welcome. It can be frustrating to have things moving (yes my body likes this gluten-free thing) and then shuts down suddenly. Like Ennis said magnesium is so important to support your body. Supplement as he suggested and focus on magnesium containing whole foods as well. Staying hydrated with water is crucial as well. Sometimes drinking a mug...
  24. Ms. Frilegh authored piece explains it well. Here it is if you haven't read it. https://www.celiac.com/blogs/37/Outnumbered---Celiac-Disease-and-Multiple-Chemical-Sensitivities.html
