Ennis and Cycling lady hit on the issues I experienced well. After the gluten challenge I was in pain and could not sleep my joints, muscles, organs, and neuropathy made it hard to sleep. Then as Ennis explained even once the pain subsides the vitamins and hormones are often out of whack. I experienced both the magnesium and b vitamins are...

Overwhelming isn't it? As the above posters say there are benefits to knowing earlier rather than later. Knowing earlier can be tough but I am glad my son found out earlier in life than I did. I know he is better off for it. As all the movies and books portray youth should be invincible this can initially rock your world and provoke deep thoughts...

Well put Ms. Morton. I am diagnosed midlife, although I know my symptoms were around easily & early as 5. I can only imagine how challenging college would have been for me (although I would have liked to been told what I had earlier) We were required to live in the dorms 2 years, which only had a microwave available and mini fridge, I couldn...

I use San J tamari . I am careful of soy since my gluten challenge as I have not healed enough and don't want to get another intolerance. Many also use coconut aminos as well. -
I have problems with corn so I have to be aware of that when shopping for spices and gluten-free baking products as Raven pointed out. I use Badia which states certified gluten-free As for encouragement drink lots of water and rest. A nice soak in tub sometimes is soothing. I hope it passes soon. If you find out it is gluten-free after all ask about...

Gluten found in gluten reduced beers
Awol cast iron stomach replied to kareng's topic in Publications & Publicity
I was suspect of this. I did try a sip of my husbands gluten removed Daura Damm during my gluten challenge, since well if there was barley in it I was adding to my challenge. It tasted too good ha ha like gluten beer ?. So I determined I would not drink it concerned about undetectable levels. I was grateful the company made it for my husband to consume... -

Dear AWOL Cast Iron Stomach, Your husband is right bread is bad for you. Of course it's more than bread and gluten, until now it was amateur hour trying to self diagnose and tame this "lion". However they let you down. You slipped through the cracks over and over again it is not your fault your not the Dr. You made mistakes and errors acting like a celiac...

I could see the damage to my stomach from the photos I had at my endo besides what I felt. I am sorry your young one is going through this, but I am glad she has you as her loving advocate to be her support. I have gone decades misdiagnosed with other issues for my rag tag revolving symptoms that run the gamut of the 300 possible symptoms. My son at 10...

"One Post by Allison on May 7th states "You can't say it is gluten free and then say oh well celiacs can't eat it. Make no sense......." Marketing vs. quality control "The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness supports the availability of Domino's Gluten Free Crust, but cannot recommend the pizza for customers with celiac disease." Huh...

Good to know I would like to get more nuts and seeds but find many retailers by me have the shared equipment claim on package so I've held off other than some almonds. My daughter and I are battling over all the fresh pumpkin seeds I've been roasting so I should see if nuts .com sells some a 5 lb bag would fix the ordeal likely a need for magnesium... -
No period after stopping gluten
Awol cast iron stomach replied to GlutenMama's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My cycle is sensitive to gluten. As my conditioned worsened misdiagnosed after the birth of my second child I suspected my thyroid was off. A primary care Dr tested it per my request and I was determined normal results. Even as gluten-free now if I get CC my period gets knocked offline and I sense my thyroid and adrenals are not functioning at full throttle... -
I'm still very predominantly whole foods post challenge 2016. I still struggle and am sensitive and awaiting healing. I eat eggs, apples, bananas, pears, chicken, beef, ground turkey, ground bison regularly. I just only introduced potato back recently, I struggled to digest complex carbs for almost a year as the challenge knocked my Gallbladder and pancreas...

Awol cast iron stomach replied to meeegun's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Your son is very fortunate his mother is a wise, instinct listener, advocate. Ravenswood gives excellent sage advice. Good luck with the remainder of testing and best wishes on healing. Welcome to the forum. -
"Mandy grew up in the public eye, so she's definitely been thickening her skin for a long time now." Great -Mandy for this illness in my opinion requires one. I wouldn't claim to have one based on my religious based school upbringing and often the way many of my celiac symptoms including mood was missed and dismissed as an overly sensitive child that...

Welcome I can get a whole basket of symptoms with my gluten and other food intolerances in addition to gi, cognitive, nerve, mood. As a woman somehow my autoimmune and nerve issues if I'm not fully in remission is tied to flares and hormones of my cycle.
