  1. Mine still gurgles. Last night during dinner it was going wild and I asked my husband (not a celiac) if his does that and he said "yeah all the time." you mentioned stress, and I feel you there. When I'm stressed my belly is unhappy. Gurgling tummy isn't always because of celiac. Plenty of people have gurgling, indegestion, etc and they don't have celiac...
  2. Hi all, i need some ideas for upping my calorie intake without eating processed crap. I posted back in January about weight loss, as I was kind of chunky before I was diagnosed (weird, and this was why I knew I couldn't have celiac - I was never skinny) and I have lost about 19 lbs since November. I haven't tried. Before I was diagnosed I had to work...
  3. Getting tested for Celiac is a really easy process. It drives me crazy that people with ongoing GI issues aren't tested, because it's a simple blood test. Compared to other AI disorders it's a breeze. I think it's worth looking into it. I never thought I'd have it and I did. It's overwhelming, but you can still eat like a champ and have Celiac. You may realize...
  4. I had an endoscopy. I just had the TTG antibody screening and my result was also >100. I have a family history of Celiac. My gastrointerologist did tell me that regardless of what the biopsy told us, treatment would be the same - a gluten-free diet. Period. I kinda thought it was pointless to do that, but looking back I'm glad that I did because it's important...
  5. I highly doubt you have refractory celiac. I've read research that suggests that, though it's real, it's highly unlikely. Even people who had been diagnosed but were put on a strict gluten-free diet ended up healing, which proved that they were accidentally ingesting gluten. That's not to say people with refractory celiac don't exist, because they do. But...
  6. I thought maybe it was nightshades, but I don't eat them everyday. I definitely could have little issues with them so I'll stay away for now. But even on days when I don't eat them I notice issues. Nothing's been consistent which is making me nuts. All I can think is: I'm still healing and this is just part of it; or, I'm a basket case and my belly can't...
  7. Can eating too much starch when you're healing cause gut issues? I posted about a week ago about white rice (didn't rinse it and it was super sticky) giving me loose stools, and that same week it happened after eating a lot of mashed potatoes. Last night I ate roasted red potatoes (a lot of them) and I had D this morning. When I was eating them I remember...
  8. Oh she did?! What a relief!
  9. I noticed that squirmingitch hasn't been on lately. I tried to send her a message and it wouldn't allow me to. Anyone know if she's ok? She helped me so much after I was diagnosed and I miss her! Faryn
  10. Never heard of it! Great to know!!
  11. I hate having days like that. I'm sorry. You're doing so much and I get that you're discouraged. I'm glad that it passed though and that you're determined to keep on keeping on. I don't know what to do about dinner. Seems like this happens more when I'm upset or stressed, and then even when the stress subsides the GI issues stick around for several...
  12. Hi Cristiana, first, I'll just say that i just dealt with a canker sore and I know how yucky they are. I've been getting them since I was a toddler. I have no idea if mine are related to my celiac or not. My grandma doesn't have celiac and she gets them too, so maybe it's also genetic. i am positive that this last one was a fluke. I wasn't contaminated...
  13. You sound like me. I've been going over and over in my head what could be going on and I can't figure it out. If it's dairy, it's only sometimes. If it's corn, it's only sometimes. Basically, the bottom line is, regardless of what I eat for dinner my dinner is passing through me too quickly or isn't forming a solid stool like every other meal. It's just dinner...
  14. I apologize but thought that I could come here to ask for advice and input. I don't have anyone else to ask sometimes. I guess I expect people to be sort of empathetic since I'm new at this, and hope they remember how they felt at 7 months into this. I'll just call my doctor.
  15. Every morning I chew up two vitafusion women's gummies. They are gluten free and I called them and they don't process anything with gluten in their facility. You can easily find them at Walmart. Alive gummy vitamins are also gluten free. I take garden of life Dr. Formulated probiotics (30 billion) once per day. I don't know how much difference that's made...
  16. Ok, don't panic. First of all, panicking about this will only make it worse. It's amazing how your mind impacts your belly. Know that 3 months is nothing when we are talking about healing from Celiac. I am 7 months in and I still don't feel super. I remember coming here at 3 months and telling everyone how frustrating this is. But I went to my GI 2 months...
  17. You'll probably notice really weird things with your stool for the next few months. Be prepared for ups and downs.
  18. Do you feel like the anxiety over going and having a fully formed stool are causing loose stools? I just can't help but think it's a factor for me. Because I know for a fact I'm not eating gluten. We basically have a gluten free kitchen, and what's not gluten free stays far away from me and from my products. I'm compulsive. I don't eat out. I don't eat much...

    ARCHIVED Frustrated.

I think that when I have anxiety or IBS flare ups dairy is harder on me. But I don't think dont think I have issues with casein, as i can eat whole milk yogurt or cheese and feel fine. This issue I'm having seems to only hit in the morning upon waking when I start feeling really anxious about it. Today I tried some guided meditation and it didn't happen....

    ARCHIVED Frustrated.

Sometimes it's hit or miss. I've wondered often if I have issues with dairy. But I'll eat yogurt for breakfast and feel fine the rest of the day. I haven't had milk in ages, unless it's in something else. But I've often wondered if dairy is a problem for me. Is casein in all things that contain milk or dairy? Even breads or crackers?

    ARCHIVED Frustrated.

I'm frustrated and worried. For the past week I have felt like I did when I was first diagnosed. I feel fine all day and then first thing in the morning I start getting intestinal cramping and gas, and then I go to the bathroom and it's loose. I just go once and then I'm fine the rest of the day. If I go mid-day it's formed. I don't know what it going on...
  22. I seem to have all kinds of questions lately! Did anyone notice that after going gluten free and healing for a few months that you got full faster when you ate? Before I was diagnosed I could eat like a horse. I joked that I could keep up with a linebacker. I was also always battling my weight. When I gave up gluten the weight just slowly fell off and I'm...
  23. I ate certified gluten-free oatmeal a few months ago and it bothered me. I haven't eaten any since.
  24. That kinda seems to make sense. I ate a ton of rice. Like probably 2 cups worth.
  25. My husband and I ate dinner after our kids went to bed (they had mac and cheese), so little man didn't have any of this. But, we did make rice out of the same bag last week and he ate that and didn't seem to have any issues. I'm not so much concerned it's gluten, but that maybe I'm having some weird intolerance to rice. I just didn't know if that's even a...
