When I read your post what came across to me first was YOU have to be your own best friend. There might be the exception but people subtly take their cues from the way you handle it. See yourself as person who is sick and needs the medication of a certain diet. Don't apologize or be embarrassed in anyway. I think you deserve the best and no one should...

ARCHIVED Touching Bread And Then Eating
bluejeangirl replied to jesscarmel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It might border on OCD but when I'm grocery shopping and I'm touching the handle of the grocery cart commenly infested with bacteria, cold germs, and who knows what I won't even put my hands near my face until I get into my car where I have those wipes and I wipe my hands down. Not only that but you've touched packaged meats. I would think some of those... -
ARCHIVED Dairy Free Specific Carbohydrate Diet?
bluejeangirl replied to CantEvenEatRice's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I find this diet hard to follow being dairy free. Eating the yogurt seems to be key. You can find out how to make the yogurt by using coconut milk or almond milk but I don't know how its done. I only have that advice so invest in a yogurt maker and google yogurt made with other milks like coconut and almond. gail -
Open Original Shared Link About the Whole Soy Story Here's a book about soy. If the link works,...sorry if it doesn't. gail

ARCHIVED In A Bit Of A Mess
bluejeangirl replied to taz sharratt's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I don't think you got rid of the infection and sadly you have to get back on the anti-bac.s. Get to doctor and deal with it because it will only get worse. Then when your done with the meds get a good gluten free and it helps if you can eat sugar free yogurt. Just plain yogurt. It will bring the balance back in your intestines. You will of killed off... -

Lisa, How special that bond must of been between your uncle and you. That tells me he although his life on this earth was brief he bonded with those he was close too. It makes me want to be a better aunt to all my nieces and nephews. I love them but I don't think they really know that. Its funny how it just takes a moment to go up to a little one look... -
I've noticed the trend seems to be getting away from highlighted hair and finding the natural hair color. The only example I can think of is Kelly Preston, John Travolta's wife. I think its healthier. But you hair looks healthy from your pic.s Carla. I'm also one that hates people messing with my hair. My hair is thick, curley and very tangle and I...

ARCHIVED What Does Your Username Mean?
bluejeangirl replied to mythreesuns's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Can you tell I like jeans. I must have about 30 pair. I won't buy sweats cuz they only look good the first couple times you wear them then they shrink and look sloppy. I have two sisters with the same obsession and we always talk about making a trip to Chicago and spending the whole day trying on jeans and eating. Gail -
ARCHIVED Where To Buy 'green' Household Items
bluejeangirl replied to floridanative's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
This is what I use also. What it has going for it is the tea tree oil because it kills bacteria. Very good to know when your in the mist of the cold and flu season. I love this stuff. I didn't have time today to take a shower in the morning although I took one last night I didn't worry about it. But I did something I never do and sprayed just alittle... -
ARCHIVED E-coli On Raw Bagged Spinach
bluejeangirl replied to GFBetsy's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Today I was at a large grocery store here in WI. and noticed that all the spinach was gone except the organic in the clear tubs. So just to be sure I asked if these have been safe. He told me the organic is not on the list (the brand they sell is Newmans) of banned spinach. He told me that they knew spinach was causing problems since late august but they... -
I do have a theory but I think its a bit "conspiracy" but not really conspiracy. Basically I think we are trained to eat what is easiest to produce, store and transport in bulk. Of course marketing and advertising play a huge part but I think it goes beyond this. Firstly economics has shut out the small producers, its cheaper to mass produce and...

ARCHIVED Husband Is A Celiac And Now I Think I Have It Too
bluejeangirl replied to CelticGal's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
The theory behind food combining is your body digests a potato rather quickly, almost as quickly as sugar. The protein is much more complicated taking more enzymes and a longer time in the stomach and small intestine. When you eat the same two in a meal the sugars from the potato gets held hostage and starts to ferment. The fermenting produces gas and... -

ARCHIVED E-coli On Raw Bagged Spinach
bluejeangirl replied to GFBetsy's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
A person died from Wisconsin and they are telling us to throw all bagged spinach out. I eat spinach every week but get the stuff in the plastic containers. I'm not sure if its any safer. There's no way I can handle having e-coli in my gut. I'm to immune deficient. I'm wondering if frozen spinach is safer? Any comments? Gail -

ARCHIVED The Truth About Splenda
bluejeangirl replied to justjane's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I copied this quote: " In the coming months we can expect to see a river of media hype expounding the virtues of Splenda/sucralose. We should not be fooled again into accepting the safety of a toxic chemical on the blessing of the FDA and saturation advertising. In terms of potential long-term human toxicity we should regard sucralose with its chemical... -
The one thing that I keep trying hoping to find one that doesn't nauseate me is B-vitamins. It gets me everytime. They say gluten free but still there is something in that vit. that gets me sick even smelling it. I won't try anymore. I've bought so many brands. I just have to get them thru foods. I also got nauseated drinking half a beer thinking...

ARCHIVED Irish Heritage And Celiac's
bluejeangirl replied to Queen Serenity's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yes I am. My dad's father came over to the states from Yugoslavia. He's the puzzle in my family tree though because he was killed when my dad was just three. He had a brother but I don't know anything about him. So I don't know what kind of diseases he had or would of had. My grandma would never talk about him because as far as I know it there was a...
