ARCHIVED Feeling Scared...
bluejeangirl replied to Stef-Ani's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Nini, Would this be a good bread to make stuffing with? I'm still wondering what bread to use since this is my first gluten free thanksgiving. I'm thinking the most ricey type breads would turn out sticky. Not good. Gail -
ARCHIVED Herxheimer Reaction Aka Healing Crisis
bluejeangirl replied to Marlene's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Marlene, I couldn't get your web address to work but I've been through the herxheimer thing. Its not fun and I'm glad she lighten the dose because you shouldn't have to take off work going through this. Take your time healing and go slow. Our bodies are always regenerating but its the candida dieing off that is giving you that nasty feeling. Its bad... -
I had a friend who was allergic to oregano. Whenever she would have it she wouldn't sleep and be extremely agitated. But thats an herb. I don't know what your using. I would think mold could be a problem in drying certain herbs like sage. It looks and smells like mold to me, but that might just be the nature of the plant. I wonder if they use pesticides...

ARCHIVED Chemical Sensitivity
bluejeangirl replied to kbtoyssni's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'm very sensitive to chemicals. I've been through alot trying to find them and avoid them. Here are some tips that you might find interesting. Buy your drinking water in glass bottles. Try not to microwave foods as much as possible and if you do don't use plastic wraps while doing it. Try and go organic as much as possible. Avoid perfumes in... -
Another thing Hoodzmom is to keep yourself informed by reading articles, books, news anything that keeps you updated. Find out new recipes that get you excited all over again. Challenge yourself to see how close you can get new foods to taste like the old favorites. Feel yourself getting stronger and see yourself as being healed in meditation. Don't...

ARCHIVED "specific" Versus "non-specific" Celiac Disease
bluejeangirl replied to tarnalberry's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I get immediate reactions to eating bananas and potatoes. I was reading these posts and it hit me that it might be nightshades as a whole. I never considered it because I avoid tomatoes mostly because I have a tendency to get acidity with it. Same with oranges. I did allergy testing over 20 years ago and I reacted to so many things the doctor looked at... -
I can tell you what I've done. For one going to the store is no easy task, especially if your going for the whole week and your a label reader (and you have to be). I would come home from the store and be so beat my head was swimming. So I asked my husbands help. He was really good about it. We go on saturday mornings and we have quite a lot fun joking...

Budew I'm curious about how you found out about iodine and it making you sick. I just started taking kelp so you can see why. The OMG thread is so long, would you happen to know what post no. it started on or around what date it was? I'm sure glad you found this out. I can't imagine the hell you went thru. Gail -
Ursula, I'm glad your getting some more answers. I was reading in one of my husband manuals about a Iodine-skin Patch Test. I didn't do it but I'm planning on it. ****************************************************************************************** Iodone-Skin Patch Test: 1. Purchase an inexpensive 2% solution of Iodine (Lugol's Solution...

ARCHIVED My Unusual Symptoms
bluejeangirl replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I just wanted to mention what I'm reading from the book Optimal Digestive Health (a complete guide) by a list of Doctors. Here's what I read the otherday but sort of condensed so I don't know if it'll make sense but you might want to order the book. You won't be dissappointed. Messages from the nervous system communicate with cells all over our body... -
ARCHIVED My Unusual Symptoms
bluejeangirl replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Mayflower, This is a celiac board where we talk about BM's quite often. Your the first person I've read thats been offended. I think Kathy Ann did a very good job describing her problems so we can understand her fully. Anyway Kathy Ann, You also describe me! I got my first full blown panic attack in the 7th grade in health class . I ran out... -
ARCHIVED Suddenly Starving All The Time
bluejeangirl replied to emcmaster's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't think your getting enough fat either. You don't get much with the supplements. You'll lose weight when you include fats like olive oil and eat walnuts for example. If you having a had time digesting them try taking a digestive enzyme which include lipase and that should allow you to digest and assimilate the fat. You also won't get so hungry... -
ARCHIVED Brr... My Hands Are Frozen...
bluejeangirl replied to Kody's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree with all thats been said and just offer one more reason. I'll notice my hands and feet get cold during the evening when I'm watching t.v. I have to cover them with a throw blanket. I figured it's because I'm digesting the biggest meal of my day and blood gets directed to the digestive system. gail -

ARCHIVED Have Candida, Celiac And Lactose Intolerance Help With Food Ideas Please!
bluejeangirl replied to curlysue's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If you really want to get rid of the candida you would not eat wheat anyway just because candida thrive on it. What you really want to do is eat a low carb diet like the Atkins diet or Paleolithic. Its going to take alittle work with planning your meals ahead and extra time in the kitchen. You don't want to be stuck eating hashbrowns for lunch again ... -
ARCHIVED Adrenal Fatigue And Celiac Disease
bluejeangirl replied to gointribal's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Stress is a big factor in causing adrenal fatigue. Your adrenals send out cortisol and other chemicals for the fight or flight thing that happens because your body senses danger. So your heart may begin to beat faster, your brain becomes more alert, your digestion shuts off, and so much more but to make this brief. When you have that happening day after... -

ARCHIVED Thought The Scd Was Going To Cure Me
bluejeangirl replied to Mia H's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When I was on the SCD I was overcome with fatigue. I wanted to find out why because I thought I was eating enough on it. Then it hit me, no. 1.. I was cooking the fruit like they said and mixing it with yogurt. Well if I was going to go thru all that trouble of cooking fruit I made it my whole breakfast by eating a large enough portion that I didn't have... -

bluejeangirl replied to Lollie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Its funny, I too have gained weight the last month or so after being underweight for about a year. Since Jan. of last year I've been so diligent in tracking all my foods in a diary followed by symptoms and being so careful of everything then in August my son came home for 2 weeks from being on a long cruise ( the Navy) in the gulf and I hadn't seen him... -

ARCHIVED Please Support Each Other, Not Start Wars
bluejeangirl replied to Queen Serenity's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Vicki, I haven't read any shouting matches. I'm so sorry that's what you've noticed lately. You know I'm a person who has opinions like everyone else and I certainly don't expect anyone to agree with me. Do you? What do you do when you have an opinion and you see someone has a different one? Maybe you can help by telling us how to express ourselves... -
