  1. Kimberly Sorry to hear about your wedding ring. I too have lost my ring in my gloves. I hope it turns up. The first gift my fiance gave me was this very nice diamond heart necklace. It fell off the chain at the hospital I worked at 3 years ago. I have not found it since. I cried while I searched for it. He did buy another almost alike to that for christmas...
  2. Sorry to hear you did not like the doc, nor can I blame you. He does not seem to have much information on celiac. It is hereditary. Hope all turns out well for you.
  3. I have never had a problem getting to sleep before I had celiac. I have been gluten free for about 3 years now. Since April I have noticed I have trouble falling asleep. I will toss and turn. I feel physically tired but as soon as I hit the pillow it is as if I am wide awake. Now here is the strange part, only happens during the work week. Our usual bedtime...
  4. Too Cute!
  5. I have seen this episode before. I have to say it was scary watching him have those seziures.
  6. I too feel the dietary response is one of the truest tests you can ever do. There are many on this board who have had negative blood tests but positive changes once going on the diet.
  7. I for a long thought I had IBS from being a constant worrier and my job really stressed me out. It seems as if the symptoms between celiac and IBS are very similar. I am so glad it is Celiac I have and not IBS, I can control celiac. I eat gluten free. I honestly felt as if I was taking my life back when I went gluten free.
  8. Wow!!! Sounds nice, I would love to have pancakes when I go out. Even though I don't have an IHOP around me, there are several near the shore where we vacation in NJ.
  9. I know what you mean and I use the Wegmans gluten free labels all the time. They put a letter on their website about this whole new FDA labeling. It really brings up some good points. I posted it on here the other day. Even if you don't shop at Wegmans or care for the store it is a good read, it really makes you stop and think.
  10. Thanks Patti! very informative.
  11. In North Amercia, caramel coloring is generally safe. Do a search on here and you will see it clarified.
  12. Chicken Alfredo from Olive Garden, Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust Pizza, Cookies and Cream Ice Cream in a cone!!!! maybe a waffle cone, A big cheeseburger with all the toppings, hmmm I am thinking
  13. I would just start out completely gluten free as well, it will be easier in the long run this way. I tried to do it gradually and I found myself cheating a lot in the beginning. The 2nd time I tried the diet, I did it all at once and I have not looked back since. One day I planned to do it. I had planned out meals for a few days and so when I woke up that...
  14. It does vary person to person. I know my stomach symptoms went away fairly quickly but my other symptoms lingered a bit longer.
  15. Kat- I bet you walked out of that appointment on cloud 9. I am glad to see you were finally able to get the answer you want too. Good Luck.
  16. Annie, Sorry to hear Outback was not that great for you. It's nice to see your husband stand up though. Especially for you saying he is very nonconfrontational. I hope I spelled that right. He seems very educated about celiac. Another plus.
  17. Happy Birthday!!!!! Hope you enjoyed your day!!!!!
  18. Some people do slip and no have a visible reaction, like D or stomach pains. Had you been told you had celiac prior to deciding to go gluten free on Tuesday? If you had blood tests or something, I would say do not touch gluten foods again, you are doing damage even if you do not know it by not having a reaction. If you are just trying the diet to see if will...
  19. I am in Harrisburg, I work in Hershey. So tonight I am doing my wedding guest list. It will be nice to have a weekend without wedding stuff. I have to admit I must be the worst bride, this wedding planning is not fun.
  20. Judy- I am pretty sure we will be going. Is this place close to where you live?
  21. We are trying to plan a place for our honeymoon. I am not a keen flyer, but if I can get some kind of nerve calming thing I could handle it. I was in an incident a few years back where my plane did not have a good landing, so I have been avoiding planes since long before 9/11. I am scared. Anyway, we were thinking cruise, but due to the timing of our...
  22. I think washing it very good might help. I have actually never had this problem. I don't lick stamps, I use a glue stick to do all my work mailings. As for the fruit/veggies, I would wash it very well.
  23. John is unable to drink, just a shot will throw him into a sickness that can last for days. He had high doses of potent chemo 6 years ago, and his liver took a hit. If he was to drink regularly he would need a transplant within 10 years. I was never much of a drinker. I did it in highschool on the railroad tracks, and in the woods by the river. I outgrew...
