  1. Well, not as good as I had hoped, but not as bad as the other formulas. I think it may work as something to use on days when I just don't have enough milk. She choked on it a lot, but not the projectile vomiting we've seen with other formulas. The problem is that she just can't handle it as fast as she can the breast milk. B/M is so easy to digest and...
  2. Well, since you have a refrigerator (I'm still archaic and have to use the old cooler ) how about some Hormel Turkey Pepperonni. Says gluten-free right on the bag! I used to snack on these all the time. Low in fat, high in protein and deliciously spicey. If you're not worried about the fat, got for the original. I just never liked all that grease...
  3. Rileth, So glad to hear from you, sorry you're having the same issues, but glad to hear from you nonetheless. I had given up on getting an answer to this post. How old is your daughter? Megan will be 14 mos. next week. Her heart surgery was postponed because she has a pnuematocele in her lung and they wanted to give that time to shrink. It's scheduled...
  4. I was too worrieda bout being able to five my son the foods he loves, but they're all out there in gluten-free form. If you want to gluten-free before his b-day, just make a gluten-free cake. That's what we do and everyone eats them without compliant. My fav is the Cause You're Special Yellow Cake Mix. YUM! Chebe Pizza crusts are delish. the list goes...
  5. She had an awful night last night. Choking about every couple housrs. We've had to turn her rate down to about 40 ml.hr from 60. This afternoon has been the best she's felt in a while. She giggled a lot, which helps me. I think we're trying the Neocate tonight. Keep saying those prayers!!!!!! hugs, Tanya
  6. what a blessing! congrats!
  7. WooHoo! Dr. Reidel is Megan's Dr. too, or at least one of the MANY! I really like him. I think if we had found him a year ago we wouldn't be where we are now. I'm so glad Timmy is doing so good. God is good!
  8. There was a thread on this a while back. Vydorscope started it. Do a search and you'll probably see it. My dad had focal and segmental glomerulonephritis and had a transplant 22 years ago. He has a ton of other health problems too. I recenlty found out about my kids and myself having issues with gluten. I would bet money that he does too. He went to...
  9. Judy, sorry I 've been out of the loop for about a week with my daughter's illneesses. I do want you to know that I am praying earnestly for your recovery on all fronts!!!! I'll follow more closely now that I know! HUGS
  10. Chrissy, thanks so much for the advice!!! Will check on that today!!! I'm so sorry you are having so many struggles with your daughter. One of my husband's closest friend's daughter is going through this. She went to a clinic in Colorado for a few months. She will now eat her mininmum required calories in a day, but refuses to go beyond that. She...
  11. Sorr - I just asked in another thread how your daughter was doing. I know this must be sooooo hard. I will be praying for you. I've found some good crackers at Target called Sesmark Sesame Thins. At our store they're with the gourmet crackers. They are gluten-free and very good. The flavored ones aren't gluten-free. Blue Diamond Nut thins are also...
  12. Megan is on Reglan (to increase motility and reduce gagging), but I'll borrow some if it will help!!!!
  13. Since it isn't happeing daily, do you think it could be from cc issues? If my son had gotten D, I've always been able to trace it back to something that might oculd have had some cc issues. Last time it was playing with toys with a friend who had just eaten cheerios. I hope you can figure it out soon!
  14. I haven't ever heard of this. Tel me more!!!!!!! BTW - how is your daughter doing?
  15. I love being prepared. You sound like you're ready! Good luck!
  16. Nerds, sweet tarts, laffy taffy, sprees, dum dums, starkist, skittles, m&ms, reece's pieces, snickers, the list goes on and on of gluten-free candy. Be careful of different forms of candy though. For ex. Reece's cups are safe, but the eggs aren't. ALWAYS check the label!!!
  17. Y'all are the greatest. We have gotten so many cards and letters from churches we have never even heard of that have Megan on their prayer list. Thousands have been praying for her and I literally don't think she would have made it without them. She's had too many close calls. The date is set for 8/15. There's always a chance that it could be earlier...
  18. I found out by accident too. I went gluten-free for my nursing daughter who has celiac. After a couple months I started noticing how much better I feel and looking more into my symptoms and found out they could be cause by celiac. Mine was the blistery rash, joint pain, and gas. All gone unless I get gluten accidentally. I'm an Alabama girl too! I...
  19. Me and the 2 kids are all O+.
  20. Thanks so much for the prayers. That's really touching. I am truly blessed! She is on Prevacid, Reglan, and Carafate. She is on the max doses of all for her weight. When her gagging got worse I was on the same diet as usual, that's when I started eliminating foods. I would love to be able to stay on the TED for 10 days, but my milk was just falling...
  21. Don't know if it's related, but I have it too. Seemed to really get bad with my first pregnancy 4 years ago and hasn't changed much since.
  22. I think the #s are lab dependent. above 20 was positive for my son's blood work. His was only 23, I think. But he wasn't checked for IgA deficiency, so I'm not sure how accurate that is.
  23. We started off tyring to have seperate containers and such, but thought my son was still getting gluten, so we just have a gluten-free house now. It's so much less stress on me. We have a few gluten snacks that don't crumble stashed away for company, but nothing that is easy cc.
  24. I think I know the answers to my questions, but just wanted all of you to weigh in on it. My husband had severe vomiting as a baby. Was a classic failure to thrive kid. I think he weighed a little over 115 lbs at 15 and was about 5'-6". He's now about 160 and 5'-8". He developed type 1 diabetes in college. he also has what he calls a sensitive stomach...
  25. Girl Ninja -I'm pumping too. Couldn't nurse for a long time for the same reasons and when they said I could, she wouldn't any longer. We have tried EVERY formula out there. We even tried Neocate1+, but not the infant. It's the last thing to try. Probably will try that tonight or tomorrow, according to what kind of day she has. Any advice or help is...
