  1. The palm software is a little bit more, and it doesn't come in the trial version. So worth it though, especially if you're out or at someone else's house and you want to check something real quick. Also, the trial version doesn't have all the products listed. They're a good company, I'm glad I got it.
  2. Personally, I have 3 different kinds of bad days: Type 1: Not that bad, just generally sleepy, foggy, and a burning stomach with waves of nausea, not quite d Type 2: Bad, very sleepy, barely functional, in and out of the bathroom all day Type 3: Very bad, stomach spasms, nausea, sleepyness, extreme pain, not functional AT ALL I manage to work...
  3. Personally, I feel that if you eat anything that's come out of a grocery store, it's impossible to be completely gluten-free. The point of the diet is to eliminate all gluten that can be known. I'm sure we still get minute amounts that don't affect us, but we need to be as gluten-free as possible, if that makes sense. Unfortunately, all food is "grown...
  4. I just use a liner and burt's bees beeswax lip balm, doesn't really have a shine to it though, if that's what you're looking for.
  5. All gluten in my house is prepackaged in the form of Kraft dinners, cheerios, and saltine crackers. I don't keep bread in the house (we just don't use it) so that eliminates all the cc condiment issues. I also don't make anything or handle anything that isn't gluten-free. Since I do all the shopping, everything I buy is gluten-free. DH has his own pot...
  6. Good luck, Morgan! Try not to get lost on campus, the older students will laugh at you (even though everyone gets lost as a freshman )
  7. Both citric acid and dextrin are safe. I've never seen a can of tomatoes (that wasn't meat flavored) that wasn't gluten-free.
  8. Karen - LOL Celia - I'm sure it won't be so bad, it's not even a hurricane anymore! (nevermind the reports that it will strengthen, they're lying!) Leah - I'm so sorry for your friend, but I am glad you were blessed with the opportunity to say goodbye. I can't imagine how heartening and heartbreaking that was. I'm glad that her son has a better...
  9. I'm not any help either... But I've thought the same thing! Nothing like a teenaged immortal chained to a cliff to signal good health
  10. Yes, but the literature says that most people that react to soy don't react to lethicin. I'm not sure if you would, though. The only soy-free chocolate I know of is enjoy life chocolate chips.
  11. It takes me about a week to two weeks to get back to normal.
  12. I was a newbie when I bought it, and for me, yeah, it was worth it. The palm is great since I'm doing weight watchers too and I can use my palm for that. When you buy the clan thompson software, you get it on your computer too so that you can look up things before you leave to go shopping. It's also updated quarterly and you get a subscription for a year...
  13. From what I've read, the Clan Thompson Smart List is better than Gluten Guard. I have never used gluten guard, but I have the clan thompson one for my palm and it's really handy when shopping. I bought the palm just for that purpose, actually, lol.
  14. I don't have much to add food wise than other people have, but I can offer support! I was put on a GERD diet a few years ago when they thought I had GERD, and it did suck, but hey, it works. You do get used to not having those things, and I actually developed a fear of orange juice and tomatoes. Turns out that I don't have GERD and never did, but can tolerate...
  15. I don't think it's scare tactics, more like people's experience and wanting to help others. That doesn't make your points any less valid, however. It's been my experience that being around flour and sharing toasters makes me sick. Therefore, by my experience, I would suggest seperate toasters. But yes, everyone has to "get with the program" so to speak, in...
  16. Is there a lot of iodide in candy? DH requires iodide to react, right? Or it aggrivates it anyway.
  17. Pesto is a good pizza sauce...excellent, actually
  18. LIAR The celebutante we love to hate
  19. Thanks, Momma Goose, but I did a search and it only turned up the stuff about their gluten-free baking recipes, and regular butter...nothing on the light butter. Actually, I take that back, there was the Delphi reference, but that was dated march 05... I already knew about their regular butters, but I saw that the light butter has modified food starch...
  20. The board won't allow Lame Advertisement to be posted anymore. I wonder if it's the same for enterolab? (obviously not)
  21. Ouch, Tiff! You couldn't get me to get a tat on 6th street if my life depended on it! YIKES!!! Yep, probably faded because of the location. It probably faded unevenly, right? Because some of it was closer to the bottom of the foot and some was closer to the ankle. And ouch. I'd bet $20 your reaction was because of the location (both on 6th street and...
  22. I feel your pain. I started weight watchers this week, and I actually like it! I've already lost 5 and a half pounds! (OK, so that was probably water weight, but still ) Try to "front load" your day so you don't get the munchies later on, and try to drink a lot of water, as that will keep the cravings down, too. Make sure to get enough protein, it...
  23. La Choy soy sauce is indeed gluten-free. Is there anything else you could have reacted to?
  24. You know what...good call! They also said in their confusing gluten statement that the label would have the most up to date information...hmm... Also, the Clan Thompson info for them was from last November I'll have to look more closely at the label when I'm at wally world tomorrow...
  25. I'm not sure I believe you, clan thompson!!! How could there be gluten in butter?!?! Oh well, I'll get whipped butter (it's gluten-free), at least that cuts down the pointage a little bit
