  1. I always thought that I was crazy for hating canned food, and things with artificial flavors and dyes! They all taste horrible to me. I even prefer to use plastic utencils to avoid the metallic taste of regular utencils
  2. I hope that you feel better soon!
  3. Same for me (except nuts; my body hates those!).
  4. I also use Dove brand shampoo because I know that it is gluten-free.
  5. The problem with shampoo is that when you use it, it gets on your hands and if your hands touch your mouth it could cause a problem. Also, if you have long hair, your hair could touch your face or mouth, which can gluten you. Wooden cooking spoons (and most other cooking things) usually have gluten trapped in them. And since wood absorbs alot of things...
  6. I hope that tomorrow is a better day for Megan (and you). I'm saying lots of prayers for you all.
  7. I had a great time! We went to the movies, and them out for a late lunch/ early dinner. While we were looking at the menu, he asked me if I liked flour tortillas or corn, and so I used that to tell him about my intollerances. He was very interested in celiac, and wanted to know what it did to me and everything. He was awesome! Of course I didn't tell him...
  8. I knew I was forgetting one; Total Serum IgA. Thanks
  9. Some peolpe really are ignorant. A few months ago, a chef put pancake batter in my omlet. Unfortunately, I did not find out until after I had eaten everything. When I asked why it was put in there, they replied "Our pancakes are made with white flour." I took the opportunity to politely explain that white flour is made from wheat. They were very appreciative...
  10. Tomorrow's the big day! We decided to go to a 1:00 movie, so maybe we won't go out to eat afterall. I'll update tomorrow after everything.
  11. A few weeks ago, I posted about my cousins boys who I think have celiac. My cousin is in the military, and the on-base drs, refused to test her kids (didn't think they had enough symptoms). So, yesterday we took the boys to an off base dr, who said that in order to run the tests, he needed the on-base quack to send him a list of all the testing that needs...
  12. I'll continue to pray for you, Megan, and the rest of your family. Tomorrow, I will add her to our prayer list and wall at church. Megan is lucky to have such an awesome, devoted mom.
  13. That's really interesting; I never thought about there being a connection between celiac and bedwetting. I am going to pass this info along to my cousin because her 2 oldest sons (ages 4 and 3) have been potty trained during the day since they were 18 months old, but they have to wear diapers to bed because they have so many accidents. This is something else...
  14. So far, I've only had problems with soy. I hope that you feel better soon, because I know how misrable asthma attacks are.
  15. I'm not sure why it didn't go through, but I wanted to let you know that Molly said she will not be online for 4 weeks starting today, because she is going to camp. I just didn't want you to thing that you were being ignored.
  16. Small is better than nothing!
  17. This is kind of weird because those are exactly the same as the results that I got today from my tests My doc gave me a shot of furrous sulfate (which was so painful) and told me to eat lots of spinach and drink orange juice with it (I guess vitamin C helps the absorbsion of iron). Good luck with your bone density study.
  18. Whenever I'm dehydrated, I drink Pedalyte or Gatorade, because they help replace electrolytes.
  19. This is a great thread, I just wish it would have been around when I was first diagnosed because it would have helped a lot
  20. I don't really have any advice, but I hope everything goes well (I'm sure it will).
  21. I'm sending prayers your way. I hope that things start to improve for Megan soon.
  22. Both my mom and myself have had severe cat allergies all of our lives. About 6 years ago, a stray cat adopted us. I have only have only had a few reactions from her, and they were all within the first 2 months of being with her (she does stay outside to reduce the risk of reacting). However, all other cats cause me to have wheezing/asthma attacks, bumps on...
  23. Thanks everyone. I'm not as nervous as before. Now, my problem is that he hasn't called me back since our first call . He said he would call me by the end of last week, but I have not heard from him yet. I'm not going to stress aout this because if he doesn't call, it's his loss. If we do end up going out, I'll let everyone know how it goes. Danielle
