  1. For me, the more gluten= a bigger reaction.
  2. OMG I'm so glad Tianna's home now where you can make sure that she eats gluten-free.
  3. I have never been rude or impatient with a server. It's just frusterating that I take the time to explain things to people, give them my restaurant card to look over, only to have them not listen or act indifferent. They should care enough to listen to what I'm telling them and to take me seriously. I posted on here a few months ago because I was frusterated...
  4. When I was first diagnosed, a lady at Trader Joes told me that their spelt bread was gluten-free (it actually said gluten-free on the package). So I ate some, and avout died (okay, not really- but I felt like I was going to). I should have known that she didn't know what she was talking about when she asked if sugar had gluten in it . I...
  5. Thanks for the info stellal. On Sat, my friend and I went to hang out with some of her friends (who I had never met before), and I was kind of nervous about my celiac. I had nothing to worry about. The guys asked a few questions, and left it at that. We decided to go out to dinner at the Elephant Bar, so I called and spoke to the manager and he assured...
  6. Seriously. I don't know how she does it all.
  7. What an amazing and miraclous story! Thanks for posting it Vincent. I'm sure your story will give hope to parents who are going through similar things with their children. btw, I love your avatar picture of him. That curly red hair of his is beautiful.
  8. Welcome Kate!
  9. Tiffany had some great ideas. I haven't backpacked since going gluten-free, so I can't think of anything to add. I am really sorry about your cat; I know how hard it is to lose a pet. Since I'm only 21, and not married, my baby is my puppy. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to him (I've only had him 2 weeks, and I don't know what I did before...
  10. I'm so happy that she's doing well. She is a beautiful little girl, and she looks so happy. Good luck with the food trials.
  11. Well, I don't have any experience with this, so I really don't have any advice. It really sounds like there is something more going on with Nathan, and that his problem is not that he doesn't know how to self soothe. Unfortunately, I don't know what else you can do. Sending you lots of (((HUGS))).
  12. Glad Meg's doing better! I hope her gagging improves soon.
  13. Hey Kassie, Hopefully your nick name will change, but I know from personal experience that sometimes they can stick for years. So far, I have not gotten any nick names because of my celiac, but for years I was called Johnny Crash because of my not so impressive version of a Johnny Cash song during a school talent show. I was 10 years old, and I was...
  14. I can just picture all that in my head. Lynne, I'm sending you lots of cyber (((((HUGS)))))).
  15. WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!!! I will be saying lots of prayers for Will and his family. I just found this on Megan's site: Tanya asked me to do an update... they are going home today!!!! Praise God. She said it will most likely be later on before they are released but they are going home today. Cotrena
  16. Do you know what company it was? I just want to make sure that I stay away from them. Unfortunately, many "gluten free" foods are produced in facilities that also produce gluten foods.
  17. Yay!!!!! Way to go Megan! I'm so glad that she's doing well, and I hope she'll get to come home in 48 hrs. How exciting!
  18. Wow. My skin is crawling because I'm so outraged. I feel so bad for you and your family. I agree with the people who said that the media needs to be involved; the public will be as outraged as we all are. What has happened to you and your children is horrible and uncalled for. I am so sorry that you had had to go through this. I just hope that it all ends...
  19. For me, the nausea, bloating, "d", and other severe symptoms last 5-7 days; but the brain fog, fatigue, muscle aches and pains, etc, last another 5-7 days. So , ususally it takes me 10-14 days to feel "normal" again.
  20. Skittles are my favorite candy!
  21. Awesome! I'm so glad that she'll be move to a regular room soon.
  22. I'm so glad that Tianna is home! What a relief that must be. I hope that she continues to do well.
  23. I'm so glad that Megan's doing well. I just hope and pray that there will not be any infections and that her fever will remain in control. Danielle
  24. God is so good! I am so happy that everything went well. Megan will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope that things continue to go smoothly.
