  1. I saw my dr today and he argeed with you Richard. He thought it looked like dh, but he said that he thinks something else is causing this. Anyways, he put me on prednisone to help it go away. Hopefully it helps.
  2. Thanks everyone. My drs office just called and said they have an opening this morning, so I'm going to go in and talk to him about all of this. Danielle
  3. I am going to try everything that you listed. Thanks so much! On Friday, I am going to have my mineral and vitamin level checked again, so I'll talk to my dr about everything then. Thanks for the advice and links. I'll check those out.
  4. Thanks everyone! You guys seem to know so much more than Drs about all of this stuff. I am going to eliminate soy from my diet for a few weeks and see how I feel. I'm still not sure about meat, but I think I might start eating some chicken. Thanks again for all of the advice. Danielle
  5. Yesterday, my face broke out in these burning red bumps that are incredibly itchy. I went to the doctor on my college campus and all that he could tell me is that they are little blisters. I tried to ask him about celiac and dh, but he had not idea what either of them were (he thought celiac caused shock and I got a blank stare when I mentioned dh). So needless...
  6. I have been a vegetarian for about 7-8 years, and before my celiac diagnosis, I relied heavily on meat substitutes. I cut out the fake meats after my diagnosis because almost all of them contain gluten as a filler. Since then I have been eating tofu and drinking soy milk about 3 times a week. Last week, I also found out that I am lactose and casien intollerant...
  7. That's awesome! I wish all schools were that thoughtful!
  8. (((((((HUGS))))))) I am so sorry about what you have been going through. I can't even imagine what it would be like to watch you're own child go through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Kevin, Tianna, Kassie, and the rest of your family.
  9. Me too! I didn't think that they contained gluten ( I spoke to a rep from Hall's who told be that they were gluten-free), so I took one and within 30 minutes, I was so sick that I thought I was going to die. It was awful.

Welcome to the boards here! Everyone is awesome and really helpful, so as everyone else has said, don't be afraid to ask questions or join in on the discussions. You've joined a great group here! Danielle
  11. Unfortunately, it takes longer than 4 days to start absorbing things normally again. Even though you may not have any gluten in your intestines, the damage that has been done in the past could take months to heal (the healing time depends on how badly damaged the vili are). I've been gluten-free for over 4 months, and I'm still not absorbing foods well, and...
  12. I love toffutti! So far, that's the best brand that I've found (wildberry is the best).
  13. Awesome!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Thanks in advance!!!!

    ARCHIVED Subway

Too much bread in that place, so I wouldn't chance it.
  15. I had a really dumb surver this afternoon. I went to lunch at a place that serves breakfast all day long. I ordered a veggie omlet without cheese and I explained my food limitations to the waitress. I went through everything like;no milk in the eggs, no toast, no seasonings, check for cc, and I gave her one of my triumph dining cards to show the chef. She...
  16. Poor little guy I was glutened today, and I had the worst leg cramps ever. This was my first experience with anything like that happening as a result of consuming gluten. Rubbing and massaging my legs helped the best, and I really don't know that anything else would have helped. Hopefully someone else on here will have a pain remedy, because I could use...
  17. I have no idea, sorry
  18. Thanks. I'll order some.
  19. Thanks for the info. I've been thinking about getting that book, and now I think I will. Danielle
  20. I'd give anything for flour tortilla's, the corn ones just don't measure up. Right now, I'm really craving spinach ravioli and homemade chocolate chip cookies, oh I'm so hungry! I was never a fan of bread before, but after tasting all of the gluten-free premade stuff, I really starting to appreciate how good the gluten filled stuff really was! Danielle
  21. Where do you get the packets of Annie's dressings? I've been looking everywhere, but I can only find bottles. Danielle
  22. I'm sending big HUGS to everyone. I'm so sorry about what this horrible disease has done to you. Chelsea, that's awesome news about your Grandpa!!!! Miracles do happen! Happy Birthday Michael! -Danielle
  23. I'm pretty new at this too, so I don't know too much (sorry). I have been eating lots of rice and veggies (I'm also a vegetarian). I also like rice patsa and tapioca bread. Have you found any stores that sell gluten-free free foods? That's where I'd start (I go to Raleys and a local health foods store. I know that Trader Joe's and Whole Foods also have gluten...
  24. I'm so sorry that you were treated so horribly . It appears as if this so-called expert doesn't know much (if anything) about celiac. I would find another dr asap. Danielle
  25. I'm sure that my dad has celiac, but at this point he is not willing to be tested or go gluten-free (although I think he's getting closer to going gluten-free). Danielle
