ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Green12 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi Charlie, glad you popped in. I haven't had barium come up for me either, so I don't really know what it could be. I did a quick search, and you are right not much comes up. I found stuff about elevated blood pressure in connection with elevated barium and also elevated barium levels in public drinking water sources but that's about it. Can you... -
ARCHIVED The American Idol Thread...2008
Green12 replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
This week I loved David Cook, Michael Johns, Jason Castro, Syesha and Brooke. There's a lot of talent but the song choices are bringing a lot of them down I think. Lots of repeat song choices from past seasons too, so it's not new and fresh (i.e. Total Eclipse of the Heart, Heart's Alone, anything Whitney Houston) I also think David Archuletta has... -

I think so, yes. I read somewhere the Feingold diet has phases, so I assumed there were lists to follow for the each phases. Maybe that is what you have to buy? Thanks for this info Rachel, it's a good place to start. I think it is easy to fingd the salicylate sites with those lists. -
ARCHIVED Everyday Minerals - Great gluten-free Mineral Make-up!
Green12 replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I think there are a couple of changes, of course I haven't been paying attention so they may have been up there for a while, but I noticed- Face and Blush colors: New Car Smell (made the regular line up) and Wet Sand (that is new isn't it?) -
The first few editions I read I don't think Donna was doing the young coconut water kefir at that point, I think that was introduced into her plan a little later. When I was following the diet the kefir culture starter was for cow's milk or a milk substitute. You can also buy Rejuvinative foods products found at most health food stores (if Donna still...

I found the bath ball at Vitamin Cottage, do you have one down there? You will definitely need one to filter out the extra chlorine. I hope you don't have to go without water for too long. -

Sorry you haven't been feeling well either Birdy. Yes, oil of lavender has wonderful healing properties. It's anti-bacterial as well as calming and soothing to the skin and senses, so it's good stuff. -

I don't blame you for going crazy Paula. I have a hard time dealing with no water for a few hours when it is shut down, I couldn't imagine for days and days. It's in those times we realize how much we take for granted water. I guess that makes sense about the chlorine being present in small doses, hence the need for a bath ball. Speaking of, I... -

I don't know Paula, I guess it could be possible. But is chlorine used routinely, or just in the cases when bacteia is found in the water supplies? I guess I was under the impression that chlorine is used after the fact, to desinfect the water supply in emergency situations, such as the salmonella outbreak you guys are having. How are you holding up... -

Ok, thanks. I'll keep searching too, this morning I came across quite a few sites where you have to purchase a book, or educational material about the diet, and a few "samples of what not to eat" lists. As far as the epsom salt baths, the sulfate component of the epsom salt has mostly been covered here, but my ART practitioner is focusing on... -
ARCHIVED Everyday Minerals - Great gluten-free Mineral Make-up!
Green12 replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We had the same thought Paula. Donna told me to tell all of you hello, she's come down with a bad cold or sinus infection and she'll be back when she's feeling a little better. I am not sure about the gluten-free status of Bare Minerals mascara and lip colors. -

Hope you are feeling better Shannon. Sounds like you learned a lot, I think it's good to have a demo on applying mineral make-up if you haven't worked with it before because the techniques are different. Now that you know the basics you can mix and match your products to find what best works for you. Have you been able to recreate what she did... -

I use FlowerColor Natural Mascara from Ecco Bella. You can find it at most health food stores where they carry natural cosmetics or online: Open Original Shared Link From the website FAQ's: "There is no gluten or wheat protein in any FlowerColor cosmetic product." -

All of it is very encouraging, but this especially. I have to agree that you are onto something, like you and Scott both experienced when I think back phenols always came up for me in my energetic testing, and things just wouldn't hold in general once cleared. There's got to be something to that and once the key is found that unlocks everything everything... -
ARCHIVED My Mom Gave Me A Jar Of Peanut Satay Sauce
Green12 replied to Ridgewalker's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Sarah, I don't know what the ingredients are in the peanut satay sauce, but I made a sesame noodle dish with Tinkayada fettucini, peanut butter, tahini, sesame oil, fresh ginger, garlic. The peanut sauce might have alot of these flavors in it, so you could try just tossing it with the rice noodles, and some bell pepper strips, serve with chicken or... -

Birdy, I was working on the th1/th2 immune system recently with one of my practitioners. There is some info I posted that I can't find now......there is a test you can take to see if your immune system th1 or th2 dominant and then you treat accordingly. The things that build and strengthen the th1 side are detrimental to the th2 side, and vise versa.... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Green12 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I see what the problem is Birdy, it won't let you search for anything less than 4 letters, so th1 or th2 doesn't register. Lisa, all the research points to the epsom salt baths being very beneficial, but your Dr obviously has something specific in mind with you since he advised you not to do them. Are you able to contact his office through... -
I pre-soak the quinoa in a pot for 30 minutes or so, then drain and refill the water and repeat the process and soak again. Then I drain them and cook with fresh water. The soaking removes the saponins, which is bitter tasting and that soapy froth you see when you run water over them. I use a finer strainer to drain them, the holes are very small and...

Donna has been really sick with a cold or sinus infection and unable to sit at the computer for any length of time, so she hasn't been keeping up with any of the posts. She says hello to everyone and she'll be back when she is feeling better. -

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Green12 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel, I went back about 20 pages looking for a informative quote you posted about how epsom salt baths work. It was quite a lengthy quote with a scientificness explanation of the whole process, but I couldn't find it (at least in the last 20 pages). Do you happen to still have that info on hand, or a link?? If not I will keep searching. -
I have read this book, 2 different editions of it actually. It's been about 4 years or so, but I followed the diet for a few months. IMO it was a little unrealistic for me to stay on for a lifetime. The diet is largely based on eating cultured foods like kefir and making your own cultured veggies and cultured coconut milk. I can't eat dairy so...

There's also egg protein powder, I'm not sure on specific brands though.
