  2. Testing the thyroid post partum is a bit tricky. The thyroid should go a little overactive after delivery.
  3. Don't Give Up ~ Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush
  4. Good girls Don't ~ The Knack
  5. Pregnancy can trigger auto-immune diseases. Pregnancy is supposed to suppress the immune system to a certain extent so the "invader cells" of the fetus are not harmed. Some Celiacs are "silent Celiacs" and do not have noticeable symptoms. Most commonly lead to a diagnoses through anemia. You may have been a silent Celiac by the time of your 3rd pregnancy...
  6. Your son should be tested for Celiac before he starts a gluten free diet. Non-Celiacs removing gluten from the diet only to discover that ingesting gluten DOES give them problems when later trying to eat it does happen. A gluten free diet can be healthy (or unhealthy) on an individuals food choices. Most of gluten-free diet changes can cause a loss...
  7. Holy ship is right! Goooo Vincent! I am so sorry for your loss. You did what was right for the gentleman tabby. To have that compassion is one of the toughest things to do. We did not get any baby bunnies. All is not lost. There seems to be no other health issues for the bun, just a miss. We do have some lovely baby guinea pigs! They are...
  8. Has SD had a physical recently? It would be nice to know that thyroid or anemia isn't an underlying cause.
  9. I wouldn't wait a day longer without working with a ped. gastro. and getting the endoscopy appointment. (it can be a 3 month wait for finding a ped. gastro., but once your in the office the endoscopy gets scheduled right away.) To answer another one of your questions, the tonsils are very enlarged for my daughter too. It usually looks like she has strep...
  10. OK The chewing food and spitting it out can be a symptom of PICA. (*Usually* the desire to eat non-food items caused by anemia. This is the best scenario if she is just doing this with real food and not chewing drywall, dirt, and ??) Get her iron levels checked.
  11. My daughter diagnosed as "probable" Celiac when she was 16 months old and then EE when she was 6. She was too ill to be scoped for the Gold standard Celiac diagnoses. Keep a food journal and also take note of airborn allergens. Living with EE for 4 years has proven a seasonal allergen connection. (Not allergy testing) If there is an EE diagnoses you...
  12. I read the reviews on Amazon and decided not to try the Eco-Planet. Thank you for your product review.
  13. Since the age of your child is in the bracket of notorious false negatives, you should opt for a ped. gastro.
  14. One thing that is not mentioned in symptoms is bad breath and large spotted tonsils. Read up and let me know if you have any other questions I (or others here) can help you with.
  15. I hear ya! I usually do the double up on dinner plan. Double the recipe and freeze half. That worked very well untill my son got to this "teenager" growth sprurt. Holy Crap this kid eats!
  16. Desperate Lady has that right! There is also a list of illnesses/disorders that can present as severe GERD (with vomitting). You should go over these possibilities with your gastro. and ped. It can be as simple as parasite infection. (I say simple because it can be solved with medication, not a forever diet change.) Things would be going much smoother...
  17. This doctor was so ignorant about the testing in the first place. Try gluten free, eat gluten, test, go eat gluten until more such shows up on test results. Completely skipping over the fact the patient feels better not eating gluten! This is like dealing with a split personality. Or an absolute ding bat that can't keep a story straight.
  18. OK my daughter has both Celiac and Eosinophilic Esophagitus. (EE or EoE). I haven't heard of an EE kid only having 1 trigger. So a scope in the future (if problems are still going on) might diagnose EE. There is now a known connection between Celiac and EE. Newly diagnosed EE should have Celiac testing done. It is fairly common for EE patients...
  19. Just my 2 cents about EE. There is a seasonal allergy connection for some patients. If the seasonal allergen was not present for the 12 days of activation of eosinophils ~ testing would not have been accurate. Normal looking tissue needs to be biospied, because the cells can be embedded in the "normal looking" tissue.
  20. Because you were gluten free and felt better, did a gluten challenge for the testing, You lessened the total amount of damage your body could have had for a postitive test. During your gluten challenge you probably were very aware of gluten and probably ate less of it. That you did have what could be considered "early stage" damage from your situation...
  21. I opened this post to warn of the constipation. Keep drinking water and fluids. Try prune juice warmed if you can't stand the taste cold. If you have NO signs of diverticulitis you might try figs. They are nature's little colon cleansers.
  22. Maybe ditch the idea of oatmeal skincare and opt for coconut oil. I would like to take this moment to rag on doctors... How come vetranians are such better doctors? The animal can't speak, so they LISTEN to the human speaking. (This does not matter if the human looked for information on the internet or not.) They do not say the animals symptoms...
  23. top 8 allergens are wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, fish, shellfish, nuts, and tree nuts. I have known some Celiacs with Barrett's Esophagus too. Your best option for medical treatment is a gastroenterologist. First line of testing will probably be an endoscopy with biopsy. The doctor will want you on a "normal" diet to find the type of damage that is being...
  24. Yes he can still be gluten intolerant. He just doesn't have a classic "allergic" reaction. (Since my daughter truely isn't "allergic" to anything she just has an autoimmune reaction to "triggers" and diagnosed with Celiac and Eosinophilic Esophagitis I didn't research into the true allergic reactions that show up in allergy testing. One sign of allergic...
  25. I was going to point my finger at the egg! LOL The top 8 allergens earned a spot on the short list because they are a "complex" protein for the body to process. Some of the products that can be very helpful during an elimination diet. Enjoy Life (especially when you need soy free chocolate), I don't have a loaf here but Schar's sandwich bread...
