  1. i think we do try and keep this one just for fun! That experience was not fun! Some internet advise was to use peanut butter to mix with the peroxide. (that would have been such a mess, not saying that it wasn't messy
  2. warning this is a hijack post! So I have been warning my dog that one day he would eat something and it would be the death of him. Well the dog is going to live another day because of pure LUCK. A project caused some rearrangement of junk in the garage. This caused a small bait bag of mouse poison to be exposed enough for the dog to get to....
  3. I was ordering flours on-line and mixing up my gluten-free flour mix and adding xanthan gum. It can work great until you have a hard time locating that third flour needed for your mix. Sometimes a big bag of gluten-free flour mix with added gums can be more cost effective. If you are just gluten free, consider how lucky you are! We had to do an...
  4. There could be an associated pain with eating issue. There are proffessional eating coaches. Patients who have been on feeding tubes sometimes need to learn how to eat again. My daughter was diagnosed at 16-17 months. She was later diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitus when she was 6. From what I remember she was so sick (hospitalized for dehydration...
  5. Ok if you have to be gluten free, dairy free, and egg free you can find a way to grill it. Grilling adds some flavor and texture to it. It's the only bread the kids like grilled cheese sandwiches with. i personally don't like any gluten free breads, because i never really liked bread before going gluten free.
  6. Thoughts and prayers for you through your testing. Some peeps are here with other health issues that a gluten free diet help. There is emotional support here for medical testing, no matter what the outcome is.
  7. There are so many illnesses that can present with the same symptoms. There are a growing number of illnesses that have a connection to Celiac disease. It is probably best if there is an endoscopy with biopsy done to diagnose Celiac and rule out any other possible coexisting condition(s). Yes this advice is from a parent of "probable" diagnosed Celiac...
  8. When you stop to think about it, we are a closer group online than when we talk to our peers face to face. Seriously. I wouldn't really participate in a poop topic in person. Or I would only have it with a mom. celiac, or some one ill trying to find out if they should get tested for celiac. On-line I even clicked on a link to see what "normal poop" is...
  9. I had an extreme break out that started on my chin and then started to wrap around my mouth. I went to the dermatologist and was put on a antibiotic prescription. The prescription did nothing execpt make my stomach upset. At least it was proven to be acne. (I started freaking it was impetigo or something I never heard of before.) ACNE BREAKOUTS (ESPECIALLY...
  10. He seems to be a bitter individual. i believe he was spurned by a gluten free individual. he has now chosen to lash out at others. Does he expect every gluten free person to whip out doctor's notes to prove diagnoses? humans have free will to reject amorous advances and eat what we choose. LOL
  11. We talk poop here all the time!
  12. I've read medical reports on gallbladder removals relating to Celiac. I have even herad of a 12 year-old having hers removed when she was trying to get diagnosed. My gallbladder was removed a few years ago too. (I was gluten free for about 6 years before surgery)
  13. The right steps are for the endoscopy with biopsies to be first. You need enough damage to show up during the scoping. The type of damage can lead to a diagnoses and baseline for healing. (once the "allergens"/triggers have been narrowed down) In young patients the symptoms for various things present the same symptoms. symptoms of reflux, "D", and...
  14. EoE, can be a different experience per patient. Something triggers the production of eosinophils (white blood cells that have a spearlike attack, usually reserved for parasite infection) once the eosonophils are activated, they are actively damaging (normal healthy tissue) for 12 days. in the case of EoE the eosinophils damage the tissue of the esophagus...
  15. Perhaps you should google Eosinophilic Esophagitus and be referred to a gastroenterologist
  16. Some other disorders can mimic Celiac. Can even have gluten as a "trigger" like Celiac. Are even more likely for you to have both disorders. i.e. Eosinophilic Esophagitus. Do not change your diet before the endoscopy with biopsy.
  17. uh oh... We have the almost same post running. The other post is from sage, it was posted just before yours and has @5 replies already. Everyone's post is important but i have to run out for a family emergency ~ and don't have time to retype my reply.
  18. you should not limit anything before the endoscopy with biopsy. This is your chance to see what damage is happening. You should even being eating gluten to fully diagnose Celiac.
  19. Hi kiddo, We had to be on a gluten free, all top 8 allergen, and pea free diet for about 2 years. This is frustrating, but managable. Pricey but an awesome treat, www.lizlovely.com has gluten free vegan cookies Enjoy Life specialty products (the Best chocolate chips!) Namaste meal mixes Craving place baking mixes (haven't been able to find...
  20. Hi Sally, You have to consume gluten and show enough damage to get diagnosed through medical testing to get diagnosed. Some doctors use their brain and decide they can diagnose you gluten intolerant from the fact ~ it makes you sick when you eat it. It sounds like you have your answer ~ gluten makes you sick. You have to know yourself, do you need...
  21. An endoscopy done before starting the gluten free diet could have given a clear picture of the amount of damage that has been done and needs to heal. It could have also diagnosed or ruled out any other disorder(s). It could rule out congenital deformity of the upper GI track. I would think a gluten challenge is too risky for your child's health right...
  22. my daughter seems to have a sensitivity to BHT. her reaction is Eosinophilic Esophagitus though. you can double check by looking through some of the generic brands of Chex type cereal. if you eat the same cereal sans BHT and everything is fine (for at least 12 days) and then have a reaction to the cereal with BHT then you will know it is the preservative...
  23. if there is a lot of damage to heal, two weeks isn't long enough to show a 'full' improvement. my guess, you will have an accidental "glutening' and then you will know for sure. (if they are symptomatic)
  24. I went to the mr. sips website and they are trying to expand gluten free lunch offerings. now is the time to plug some of our favorite gluten free products that may have a small local start! I wrote an e-mail to mr. sips, and then contacted the businesses I suggested. Lizlovely.com sent me a message back that they would look into joining mr. sips...
  25. OK If you are going gluten free... It's all or nothing. "gluten lite' is a complete waste of time. imo I did have some symptoms like that after taking an allergy medication just before a serious gall bladder attack. i have had my gall bladder removed for about 3 years and haven't had problems since. Go back to a doctor and have your blood pressure...
