  1. Well said Ravenwood. I haven't seen ads for the gluten stick tests lately. They do exist, but I can't tell you how reliable they are. Good Luck!
  2. My test results were all negative. That doesn't change the fact that 15 minutes after I eat some it makes me sick, sick, sick! Have you ruled out any other food intloerance?
  3. Have you made sure she has no nutritional defiencies? i.e. vitamin B 12 defiency can cause nuerologic problems. I would suggest she have some further tests with a sleep study. My nephew was just diagnosed with 2 sleep disorders. He has suffered for the last 5 years until he was just diagnosed weeks ago. Just my thoughts....
  4. Hello, I have a few questions, because my daughter has eosinophilic Esophagitis. Dysphagia can be a symptom of EE. Eosinophils are usually the bodies defense against parasites, and would be associated with H. Ployri. Have you been tested for for any other medical conditions that cause dysphagia? In Eosinophilic involvement with the gastro. system...
  5. I have heard of a case or two where a Celiac diagnoses was made but later found out to be a bad reaction to a medication. (I'm not a doctor and I have no proof of this other than a parents word.) Are you on any madications for the Addison's? Do any of these meds have any severe side effects? Gluten withdrawal is real and I would say it lasted for me...
  6. Yes, your family should be screened for Celiac. Some Celiacs do not have symptoms.
  7. A biopsy can be done to luck for other conditions as well. You should discuss this with your doctor so you can make an informed decision. Other conditions that are known to have the same symptoms or can be present in addition to Celiac. H. Ployri parasites (could be tested for in stool samples) cogenital defect Eosinophils Barret's Esophagus amount...
  8. Just a few notes from my research... EE finally was given a standardized medical code in October of 2008. This is going to start the information and data collection of connected disorders/diseases. This should start to show a wider range of patients. EE and the other Eosinophilics digestive disorders are still considered a mystery. It does seem that...
  9. It sounds like your child might have some results from allergy testing. There is a skin reaction for the scratch test or the delayed reaction test were the food sources are taped to the back.
  10. I believe the second "trigger" can bring on the symptoms after years of the "unsymptomatic" suffering. i.e. the anemia, lethargy, weight changes to full out "D" after every meal. I was always anemic for every blood test and did not grow to the expected height (genetic tested) but after giving birth I was sick after every (gluten) meal.
  11. If I could just a a license to write her a prescription for an EXTRA large suppository of Prosac!!
  12. You should get your thyroid checked. Do you have any other symptoms going on? An excellent vitamin supplement for hair and nails is Biotin. It also helps with metabolism.
  13. I was gluten free and much better for 5 years. Started feeling bad in October after a sinus infection and major life stresses. I had major tightening/pressure of the upper stomach area, loss of appetite, queasy with some light vomiiting, pain in the lower ribs on my right side that went through my back, and had some type of attack. Went through every stupid...
  14. Oh thank you so much! I can't believe I am sick of chocolate cake. All these birthdays and parties are just too much right now. I just ran out to the store and bought 3 birthday gifts and I realize I need to get 2 more by Sunday! and make our meals on the go and birthday cupcakes too! More gallbladder surgery is set for Tuesday.
  15. This is just to bump your post for more viewings. I don't have your answer, but I hope someone else does.
  16. Please describe your back pain and symptoms in more detail. (You did describe the gas well enough ) I'm having my gall bladder removed on Tuesday. The worst problem while waiting is the back pain! Lower ribs on my right side. The pain after eating is "tightening" In my guts under my ribs. More like being crushed. By any chance have you lost weight...
  17. I started making double batches of everything and freezing the extra meal. (Bonus if somethings on sale!) Freezing some extra cookies or brownies in single serving sizes for school lunches. Definately cupcakes for birthday parties.
  18. Not all Celiacs are IGA deficient! Some statistics say only 30% of Celiacs are IGA deficient.
  19. I've always considered this my hotline.
  20. I have always wondered about Celiac blood antibodies helping heal others. I'm going to call because I've had many of the listed viral illnesses. Chicken Pox, Mono/Epstein Bar, CMV, and I have also had meningitis. Maybe I've had too many things, for them to use my plasma. I've never had the "official gold standard diagnoses of Cleiac". Thanks for...
  21. Where exactly is the back pain?
  22. I know of a few places here in Michigan that can do gluten free cakes. Keep looking closer to your home. Check with any local Celiac support groups. I would do the smaller cake, seperate like a groom's cake for saving some money and no cross contamination. You are too busy on your wedding day to really sit and enjoy eating cake. Congratulations!
  23. It is also possible you are reacting to eating garbanza and fava beans in the gluten free flour mix. Keep a food journal to see which ingredient might be the problem for you.
  24. As much I have daydreamed about eating gluten in front of the doc and having the projectile vomit shower on him. It just makes it harder on you to hold on to the baggage of anger. Lucky that you have the brain cells to stop dealing with this yutz of a doctor. I had a friend who told me, "you went to bed, you woke up the next morning, you got over it....
