  1. I have the exact same thing - that's actually what led me to see a GI dr. (finally) and my diagnosis. I've been having large bowel movements every morning that hurt worse than having a baby (which I recently had also)! I would cry every morning and bleed, etc. and several times it clogged up the toilet before I even wiped! My regular dr. told me to take...
  2. On the pizza thing - can you put parchment paper on a regular pizza pan (the metal kind with holes in it)? My 2 pizza pans have both been used for gluten pizza and I don't want to buy new ones, but I'm afraid they mind still hold some gluten in them....
  3. I emailed them this morning - I was thinking about the same thing (the more people that contact them, the more chance we'll have of getting them to listen).

    ARCHIVED Probiotics

What kind (brand) do you recommend and do you have to get them at a health store like GNC, or can you just get them at the drug/grocery store? I've been thinking about taking these myself. Been eating the Activa yogurt but I think dairy is a problem....
  5. Where in the south do you live? If you are near Atlanta, there are several local groups arond metro Atlanta that will give you great information. Also, Kroger and Publix have started carrying gluten free foods (in the organic section), but make sure it says GLUTEN FREE, not WHEAT FREE (wheat free can still have barely, oats, or rye). I'm new to this also...

    ARCHIVED Neck Pain

It's really weird. I didn't have it all weekend, but then I went running today and it started during my run and continued for several hours after. I can't feel any swelling or anything (like the endo feels for when I go), but I think I might go to the nurse in my office and have my thyroid levels checked again just to be safe. Even though I just had them...
  7. That sucks! I just discovered them
  8. I'm confused - I just got this list from Loreal of the ingredients in their products that contain gluten - maltodextrin being one of them. I thought maltodextrin was one of the "safe" things we could eat (I remember thinking it was not safe b/c of the word "malt" but then being corrected that it WAS safe) - what's the deal? The following list of ingredients...
  9. I've started taking a B12 supplement, so hopefully with that and the other vitamins and (eventuallY) my gut healing, the dizzyness will stop. Don't know if I'll ever be able to use the heart rate monitors though
  10. Yes, I think reitterating number 1 is important - I am one of those people who has to have things done her way and done NOW, but I've come to realize after (trying to) be gluten-free for a month now, with no improvement, that this is a very slow learning process. I jsut now realized I've been using lipstick with wheat in it every day, not realizing I was...
  11. Just wanted to share what I received from Clinique on the lipstick/lip liner question I had - guess I'll be getting some new lipsticks! Thank you for taking the time to contact us and for your interest in Clinique. With regard to your question see below the requested information regarding gluten in our lipsticks. Once again, thank you for contacting...
  12. I use Clinique skin care and lipsticks - go to clinique's website and contact customer service (I did it via email) with the products you have questions for and they will get back to you in a few days (mine was the next day) as to whether they have gluten in them. They will need the exact name of the product though - can't just say "lipstick" like I first...

    ARCHIVED Neck Pain

Yeah, yours sounds more like a muscle strain or something like that. I can't find any particular spot by feeling around, and it actually feels better when I press on my neck. It is just to the left of my larynx or whatever that's called in the center of your throat (adams apple for men). It comes and goes, but seems fine when I'm sleeping.
  14. Funny, I have been eating a lot of pickles lately since going gluten-free (one month now) and haven't had any leg/foot cramps in that time - coincidence maybe, but that's funny you mentioned that. My husband (who has the RLS) LOVES to drink the juice out of the pickle jar - yuck! I'll have to encourage him to do that more now
  15. For the past 2 days I've had extreme neck pain in the front left side of my neck, near the base. It is like sharp pain but it is constant, and it is definitely not a muscle - I was wondering if this could be my thyroid (I have hypothyroidism) - does anyone else ever have this pain? I don't notice any swelling or anything, just the internal pain.

    ARCHIVED Introduction

Robb, you mentioned glutamine in one of your posts - I have a question in another post on "energy drinks", but thought you might be able to help me. I was wondering if the new energy drink XS, which contains L glutamine and a bunch of B vitamins, would be good for a celiac to drink, or harmful. My boss (non-celiac and a runner) drinks these every day and...
  17. Does anyone know if these new energy drinks are ok? My boss gave me one that is full of B vitamins, no cafeine or sugar, and has only 8 calories. It is called XS Energy - the only suspect ingredient I see is L Glutamine - what is that?
  18. Just curious - do any of you "dizzy people" also have problems getting heart rate readings on machines? My blood pressure has always been extremely low, and I can never get a reading on the heart rate monitors (on exercise equipment, at grocery store, etc. - I know it's not the machine b/c I've had my husband come along behind me and it works for him!)....
  19. I've always had dizzy spells and occassional black outs. The dr's said it was b/c of my anemia, even when I was taking 3 iron pills a day! I think it is the celiac, although I haven't been gluten-free long enough for it to get any better.....

    ARCHIVED Pf Changs

I just went to PF Changs last night - Singapore Noodles are wonderful! Does anyone know if the brown rice is also gluten-free? I thought I had read somewhere that only their white rice was gluten-free, not the brown, so I didn't order it, but I'd prefer brown if I could..... On the dessert thing, the gluten-free menu that they gave me did not have any...
  21. I eat the baked cheetos (taste the same for me) and don't have a problem. Also try dill pickles wrapped in a slice of turkey or ham lunchmeat w/cream cheese spread on it. Sounds funny but it's good! Or when I don't have the cream cheese I just take a slice of turkey, a slice of regular kraft cheese, and wrap it around a pickle - my "sandwhich". Also...
  22. I know the regular cider is ok, but I've heard that the pear (not sure if WoodChuck has that or if it is WoodPecker brand) is NOT ok. I've had a couple of WoodChucks since being gluten-free and did not notice any discomfort, so enjoy
  23. I was recently dx through a biopsy and blood tests - been gluten-free for almost a month now and no improvement (I actually feel worse - same old symptoms plus now I have constant headache and sinus problems, but that could just be a sinus infection nonrelated - I get those anyway). I would not give up. I am assuming I won't feel better for at least 3 months...
  24. you can buy them on amazon .com - just type in Triumph dining in the search and they will come up. I haven't bought mine yet (waiting to order with a few other things), but I've heard they are wonderful.
  25. yes, I can't use that line either - give me little blister things on my tongue (canker soar like things). Any cinnamon toothpaste does that too to me (any brand), so not sure what it is. I use Colgate Total or Crest regular whitening (not the new flavor blaster kinds) and am fine with those.
