2kids4me replied to jesscarmel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
it is a dewormer and is effective against giardia as well. Now it makes sense - and yes it is for 3 days, just a diffeernt type of medication and it is for roundworms too. see: Open Original Shared Link ** also dont freak if you see worms in the poop. ... it means the meds are working - but it can be quite gross -
ARCHIVED Round Worm In Puppy
2kids4me replied to jesscarmel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
antibiotics?? The dog needs a dose of dewormer - pyrantel pamoate is best for pups. Usually one dose now and repeat in 10 days. I have never heard of antibiotics used for roundworms. (and I am an AHT and hubby is a vet). metronoidazole is used for giardia and an antibiotic is used for coccidia (slips my mind which one right now - I am at home and we... -
ARCHIVED Round Worm In Puppy
2kids4me replied to jesscarmel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Roundworms are a very common finding in puppies. You will only get it if you get eggs from the feces in your mouth. The vet will have given you a dewormer - I am sure. Follow the directions as you will have to repeat it in 10 days due to the life cycle of the roundworm. Clean up all feces in the yard as the pup can reinfect himself - wash the pups butt with... -
ARCHIVED Calgary Restaurant
2kids4me replied to 2kids4me's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
The bigger dog is our "rescue" - Katie -the little one is one of her pups that looked like a "minnie me" of her. Katie was found dumped in a snowbank ..... whelping... with my work in clinics, I definitely wanted a dog I could make a difference with, her pups would easily find homes, but Katie had boobs down to her knees, was skinny, had warts on her face... -
ARCHIVED Calgary Restaurant
2kids4me replied to 2kids4me's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thanks for the replies, I will consider Splitt in the future - we live an hour south of calgary so was trying to find a resaturant in the south end. I heard Chianti's is good but its really not the place for a 12 and 13yr old... I just remember it as romantic getaway for adults. dd is much better since late this afternoon, her smile is back and she felt... -
My in laws have been wanthing to take our family out for dinner, so I convince the kids we could safely eat out......After calling ahead to the restaurant, letting them know we had 2 kids with celiac and then ordering - it seemed like we might be safe. They offered gluten-free pasta and plain roast potatoes and steamed veges. We could get chicken breast with...

ARCHIVED Is There Such A Thing As Mild celiac disease
2kids4me replied to jacobsmom44's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Each person will have different outward symptoms, some mild, some horrible and immediate. BUT all celiacs suffer the same internal damage - flattening of the villi, inflammation, and impaired absorbtion. I have 2 children - one may experience some joint pain or mild stomach ache if he gets a big "gluten oopsie" (oopsie poopsie ) the other child... -
There is a condition called euthyroid sick syndrome - where your thyroid is technically fine but cant keep up with severe stress or illness. See: Open Original Shared Link The article is quite technical but you can google euthyroid sick syndrome for other info Autoimmune illness can run in families and certainly the symptoms you describe...

Stavely has a weather sation (just south of us)..but we are very close to the foothills and when it rains everywhere else - they get snow "out west" -which is 5 miles away. Its funny when you see snow on vehicles ..........you know - they live west of town. On Monday, I scraped snow and frost off the car so I could drive.. Kids that are bussed to school...

ARCHIVED When Will It Finally Sink It?
2kids4me replied to prinsessa's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Took me a while too. Kids have been gluten-free since 2004 and just this spring I bought them skittles littles (after all the regular skittles are gluten-free, right?). It was my son that noticed the wheat in the ingredients - after they ate some. They didnt get sick and now I may know why - just noticed the thread about wheat starch....hmm still wont... -
I like the snow until about the end of January, then I cant wait for spring. I love walking in light fluffy snowfalls...and sledding down a hill, the kids laugh their heads off when I wipe out cause of all the snow my big butt kicks up ........ "Mom, it looked like a whiteout!! "

ARCHIVED Frustrated That Nothing Is Working
2kids4me replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I would stick with what you have done so far. Celiac or any malabsorbtion issue may result in low B12. Low B12 can cause ataxia and nervous system issues (like neuropathy). I need B12 injections cause oral didnt help, but that is something you can ask either the conventional or naturopath doctor about - taking additional B12 either orally or by injection... -

2kids4me replied to Kibbie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

its probably too late and your girlfriend has seen the kitchen...but you could say that you were momentarily distracted by a photo of her and got lost in thought about how beautiful she was ..then poof the oil caught on fire or you could tell her you were conductinga science experiment..........

the "bad boy" term was used in the humorous sense- for those that know Steve - it looks like he loves to get teased a bit. None of the posts implied he was bad man... although his girlfriend may think differently after the "oil fire" comes to light (couldn't resist the pun ) Say Steve, if she reacts - with a few expletives - would she say them in...

The only connection is that it is an immune mediated disease and it is not uncommon to develop other autoimmune conditions. With any skin disorder (autoimmune or not), diet can play a role is the severity of the outbreak, and supplements with Omega fatty acids and avoiding refined prodcuts can help some people.

maybe he has brain fog from inhaling the smoke for his recent kitchen fire and then his girlfriend saw the kitchen ......... he is too busy googling TSP.. I enjoy reading his posts too..

Sudsy ammonia or spic and span work well cleaning greasy smoke damage from walls/ceilings. Special primers are available for use after a fire. The soot and grease penetrate the surface. My suggestion would be to contact a comapny specializing in fire restoration, they would be able to tell you what kind of prodcuts to use - cleaners, type of paint etc., after...

ARCHIVED E-coli On Raw Bagged Spinach
2kids4me replied to GFBetsy's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Found this bit of info -
I second all the other posters. Welcome to the world of gluten-free.. it is daunting initially. I often felt lost in the grocery store when I first started and found myself near tears as every soup I checked had gluten. Had some old ladies wondering about my sanity when I found Campbels chicken and rice soup was gluten-free - I let out a "yipee!"... then...

ARCHIVED I Understand That "tailz" Has Been Banned From This Site.
2kids4me replied to Lymetoo's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I didnt see many of the posts that became an issue. I have participated on other public forums and my understanding is that difficulties arise when a poster or the info in a post becomes offensive to some readers and they complain to the forum administrator. Up until the complaints come in. ....many threads continue on about many topics - often unrelated...
