  1. Can't stay away very long...it'll take a day to catch up. Tony can just help you along. Who said we'd be patient. Those are your words, not mine. Hurry up Rachel...it's not even 3:30 yet and they'll probably be running late...maybe we'll hear in a couple hours. Chelsea is right.
  2. That's sweet Patti. Now if I just had a cell phone....
  3. My DH is also good about buying whatever it is that I may need. We usually by the ground beef which is still very pricey but we bought it on sale. I had to call my mom to find out how to do pot roast. I'll still probably have to call her back tomorrow when I make it. Of course I have to adjust ingredients as I can't use wheat flour to...
  4. It would be even more for me....I just bought an organic 100% grass fed 3 pound chuck roast for $27.
  5. I did weight watchers in college when they didn't have all this stuff. I lost 20 odd pounds but went beserk after the program because of all the food restrictions...I gained back 40. The thing you have to remember if you do the program is to develop a lifestyle change you can live with so you don't gain it all back. I haven't done any weight loss program...
  6. Welcome to the party Cissie! We've got to keep the guys on their toes. My daughters learning how to read, have to use regular words and not ones like gotta. She's reading over my shoulder, or trying anway.
  7. Uh oh, I had a whole bag of potato chips yesterday. I get the unsalted. The kids also had some. Hopefully everyone is ok...the little one hasn't broken out yet and he's pretty sensitive to what I eat.
  8. Does that go for their potato chips too?
  9. coconut oil would also work. Spectrum has a good refined coconut oil. They also have vegetable shortening the non-hydrogenated, it's palm oil I think. We are also soy free and dairy free except for butter at this point. We stocked up on some...once it's gone I'll be figuring this stuff out too.
  10. I think my hubby read some of garden of eatin (maybe kettle, he forgets) that has some gluten in them. We usually have kettle with no problems but we didn't have obvious symptoms to begin with.
  11. My hubby had gas pains afterwords.
  12. Even though he's not a celebrity...he would certainly have some pull. Thanks.
  13. I'd say 50 or so actually. Wasn't the average age 120 then. That's about 35-40 years beyond ours..so don't give up.
  14. Who needs a chat room......we have Rachel's thread. How's it feel to be so popular Rachel.
  15. Blame Rachel..she took an extended lunch for us. We've just been a chatty group this morning and glad to have a few guys on board...if they stay.
  16. Never give up. Sarah was 90. You could also adopt if nothing else...I know it's not the same as having your own, but still a precious child.
  17. I had an enlarged thyroid before my last pregnancy along with elevated AST and ALT. Had all sorts of bloodwork done..they chalked it up to fatty liver since they couldn't figure anything else out. Levels were normal again last year (Sept). Wouldn't surprise me if it was soy or gluten that increased them. Maybe the pregnancy just threw everything off because...
  18. Makes perfectly good sense to me. As much as I hate the monthly cycle I would like to keep all my parts too...unless they turn cancerous on me or something.
  19. Don't they want you to go on hormones after a hysterectomy? I wouldn't want that either.

    ARCHIVED Sulfites

Rhonda, Thank you so much for posting this info. We don't have reactions to sulfites that I know of but like to avoid as much harmful stuff as possible. It really angers me about the msg also. We have a farmers market about 1/2 hour south of us I may have to check out so I can talk to the farmers.
  21. OOPS...bye Rachel. Hope you don't get into too much trouble. It was nice having you here for so long during the day.
  22. eleep, I agree with everyone else. It is very difficult to adjust to a breakup on top of celiac but not impossible. Your visit with your stepmom could be just what you and she need. We are all here for you. Even though cyber friends aren't the same as having a real live person on your couch visiting with you, we love you and support you.
  23. By the way...my appt. with the OBGYN is tommorrow at 3:30.....hopefully I get something out of that appt. since I've waited a lifetime for it....well, at least 30 pages or so. I found it!!! That's 6:30 your time Celia.
  24. Her appointment is at 3:30 Pacific Time if I remember correctly.
  25. I was never a big drinker and after going through a program with my brother (they required a sig. other and my parents were to busy at the time), I quit drinking the little bit that I did. Never seemed to bother anyone if I had a non alcoholic drink.
