    My daughter was just shy of her 6th birthday when she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Our hospital does routine celiac screening in newly diagnosed diabetics on intake (3-5% of people with JD also have celiac disease). Her tTg levels were through the roof.     Good point Carla, about being a role model in terms of food. But no can do. I haven't eaten meat in 20 years and really can't do it now. However, we do not "preach" about moral issues and have even gone so far as to explain to her that chickens are so dumb that they want to be eaten.     here's another idea . . . (yeah, I'm getting a lot done today, NOT) Take a look at that incredibly yummy NY pizza dough recipe.
