    Not only are the corn tortillas/taco shells not gluten-free because they've been dipped in oil where flour things have been cooked, but the beef in the tacos also is not safe.     I don't have an answer to your question but most everything I've ever read indicates that 15 months is too young to test poositive on the blood tests. Something about not forming the antibodies yet. richard

When you combine positive blood tests, a parent who has it, and symptoms, you're talking about nearlry a 100 percent certainty he has celiac disease. Either ge the biopsy if you need more proof, or take him gluten-free and see if the symptoms resolve. richard

    With ham you're pretty much all right as long as you stay away from honeybaked or commercially glazed. The glaze always has wheat. I've used Kroger, Gwaltney, Thornapple Valley and Smithfield. richard

    I've made my own chicken broth. Some chicken, bones, old vegetable parts that I froze, instead of throwing away, onion, garlic, and various spices to taste. Salt, pepper, oregano, basil. Cook for a long time and then strain. Very tasty. I have not done beef broth but think the procedure would be similar. richard

    One thing I'd ask the doctor about if you haven't already is bacterial overgrowth. This is very frequently the cause of lack of improvement in people with celiac.     Children younger than yours get biopsies all the time. I support your decision not to have it done, but I've heard of kids as young as 2 having biopsies. richard

    Progresso mushroom soup is gluten-free, or was last time I looked. It is not a concentrate so is not as thick as Campbell. But you could thicken it. richard

    Wheat-fed animals are not a problem. The gluten does not become a part of the meat. This has been addressed by numerous scientists (including some veterinary reseachers here at the university where I work). If it did somehow become a part of the meat, all of us celiacs would be getting ill from meat all the time. richard

    Lipton onion soup mix is gluten-free. In addition, Lipton is a Unilever company. Unilever's policy is to always clearly list in any gluten in the ingredients. In other words, wheat or barley won't be hidden in something like natural flavors. richard

    Brach's says it doesn't consider any of its candies gluten-free. The reality is that most of their candies probably ARE gluten-free, but they're either too lazy or too afraid of lawsuits to find out which ones. Candy corn is one of their candies I probably wouldn't be afraid to eat, but I refuse to give them any of my money. richard
