  1. I'd use it. I think it's just easier for people with celiac to have their own colander, but they are not impossible to clean. richard
  2. My ttg was higher but yours is still quite high. It will come back down on the gluten-free diet, however. richard
  3. Let me emphasize as well -- there is no gluten in any injectable!! PS, just got my flu shot 50 minutes ago. Glad to have it. richard
  4. KEEP EATING GLUTEN until after the endoscopy. richard
  5. It's my understanding that a number of doctors now consider symptoms and a positive blood test all you need for a diagnosis. And improvement on the diet would confirm it. richard
  6. I never gave up milk and had no problem. If it bothers you, don't drink it; if it doesn't, don't worry. richard
  7. I have never had this reaction to glutinous rice and have never heard of others having it. The fact that the people who have replied have not told you that they also react to glutinous rice tells you that they have not. If they had reacted like you have, believe me, they would have told you. And if they had heard of others reacting they would have told...
  8. I ALWAYS get the flu shot. The last time I didn't was the year that I started with what I think was the flu and then went into my full-blown untreated celiac reaction, which landed me in the hospital for 11 days and out of work for 10 weeks. IOW, I think the flu was what triggered my bad breakdown, although I know I had celiac disease symptoms before that...
  9. But please, please, please don't bring that baby to the movie. richard
  10. The cheese is gluten-free. And I'll join the chorus of people who buy Kraft. They were one of the first companies to say they would list all gluten and all you need do is read the ingredients. The reality is that very. very few companies have nay sort of ironclad guarantee about gluten. It's just not possible unless you control the whole chain for every single...
  11. Pepperoni is highly unlikely to have gluten. richard
  12. I have no idea what HIDA is. richard
  13. 11 years. To me, the hardest part was that wheat didn't have to be listed until 2006, and very few companies listed ingredients online or had gluten-free lists online, so I spent much more time calling companies about ingredients. Virtually no restaurants where I live had heard of being gluten free. None of my friends knew what the heck I was talking about...

    ARCHIVED Alcohol

Most people can drink distilled alcohol, even when based on wheat, rye or barley. richard
  15. If it's actually gluten that caused the reaction, Quaker would be my top and only suspect. Kinnikinnick is very dependable and the cheese is highly unlikely to come in contact with gluten. If it was something else, who knows? You'd have to figure that one out. richard
  16. Mouth sores were one of my symptoms of gluten before I went gluten-free. Itchy scalp with no rash? Don't know. If she does have celiac, I expect you'll be seeing more symptoms soon. BTW, if the sores are keeping her from eating, is that affecting the challenge? richard
  17. I don't see how it would be related to the celiac. richard

    ARCHIVED Taco Bell?

I would agree that there would probably be little gluten from that oat bran, but still that's a difference between the two. richard
  19. Hmm, looks somewhat like DH but if you think you've been pretty strict about your diet, it also could be something else. My psoriasis started after I went gluten-free. I also get little blisters like that on my hands (and nowhere else) occasionally but It is NOT DH. Anyway, a decent dermatologist should be able to tell pretty easily. richard
  20. I am not a doctor and I cannot diagnose you, but I know that my mother had some of your symptoms -- pain, relfux -- and after she had her gall bladder out, things improved immensely. Reflux isn't all gone but she hasn't returned to the hospital for gut pain in a year now. richard
  21. Not with the warnings about contamination, No way, no how. richard

    ARCHIVED Taco Bell?

The taco shell contains oat fiber, which most likely comes from contaminated sources. TACO SHELL Ground Corn treated with Lime, Water, Vegetable Oil (Contains One Or More Of The Following: Soybean Oil, Corn Oil) With TBHQ And Citric Acid Added As Preservative, Oat Fiber. Corn, Vegetable Oil (May Contain One Or All Of The Following: Soybean Oil, Corn Oil...
  23. Love2travel, you are in Canada and the person who asked the question is in the U.S. So am I. In the U.S., almost no ham has gluten (I can't actually name one that does have it but I can't say that absolutely none do). richard
  24. From a gluten perspective, I can no longer name a deli meat that does have gluten. There probably are a few somewhere, but fewer than even just five years ago. richard
  25. I've been twice. Both times were yummy and both times no reaction. I do react to bad CC but certainly not super sensitive. richard
