  1. I've yet in 8 years to find a theater popcorn that has gluten. That's not a guarantee to anybody, but I don't worry about theater popcorn. richard
  2. On the contrary, in the U.S. most don't. In fact, I can't name one that does have gluten. Canada is different. richard
  3. "McCormick Dark Chili Powder -This is suspect as many seasonings especially commercial ones use flour to keep them easy to dispense or pour." It's not suspect. McCormick will clearly list any gluten. Their chili powder is gluten-free. In fact, the warning that many seasonings use flour to ease pouring is pretty much a celiac urban myth. "Kirkland Minced...
  4. Come on folks, let's at least pay attention to what the company says. The fries do NOT have a wheat coating. Check put the ingredients. They are definitely fried in a dedicated fryer separate from the onion rings. However, as with any fast food place, watch out for CC. richard
  5. Find a different GI. This guy sounds like a disaster. richard
  6. Nothing rude meant at all. By "problem" I meant the physical difficulties she was having. richard
  7. I agree about Roben Ryberg. richard
  8. My wife still drinks beer and eats all forms of gluten. Not a problem with me. IMO, you're being too paranoid. The gluten in beer is miniscule to begin with. richard
  9. Yes, you can name brands here. My experience with canned or frozen plain veggies is that they are almost universally gluten-free. I can't tell you as to cross contamination, but would think the chances would be much lower in this type of product. ricahrd
  10. It all looks gluten-free to me. McCormick clearly lists any gluten, so if the chili powder didn't list gluten, it's gluten-free. Kroger sour cream (in fact, all sour cream that I know of) is gluten-free. richard
  11. I can't diagnose you but if you are gluten intolerant or have celiac, you should immediately have your children tested. If they are negative, you should let them eat wheat, IMO. richard
  12. Folks, this original information is more than 2 years old now. Who knows whether it still applies. richard
  13. If you didn't check on soy sauce, that's your problem. Caramel color is NOT a problem. richard
  14. You're not going to hear back from Smithfield over the holidays. They're off. I've never known of a smoke flavor to contain gluten. And the vast majority of sausages are gluten-free. Given what you've just said, I'd eat it without hesitation. Wheat would have to be listed and it's EXTREMELY unlikely to contain barley unless there's malt listed. richard
  15. Another thing you can do with corn tortillas is make mini pizzas. Bake them a little in the oven, brush with olive oil, add a sauce and whatever toppings you like, then bake again until done. Yummy. richard
  16. Traffic fatalities in Thailand? GOOD GOLLY, I'll never eat MSG again!!!! Drug abuse, preventable illnesses, possible coup -- gosh, MSG must automatically be a terrible danger!!!!! There is still nothing here showing us that MSG is a danger or has caused damage. Ravenwoodglass wanted me to prove there's never been damage, which is, of course, an absolute...
  17. Prove there isn't harm going on, ravenwoodglass? That, of course, is impossible. As you well know (or should know anyway), I can't prove there's no harm going on anywhere in the world. Nice try. richard
  18. I figured it would be, but didn't want to say so without confirmation. richard
  19. Nice reply gfp, and one of the rudest ever. I see you still refuse to show us where there's any harm going on. richard
  20. Boy did you go off the rails there gfp. Please provide your evidence that MSG is improperly labeled. Reality. We really don't need to worry about MSG. richard
  21. If powdered sugar had wheat, the law would require it to be listed. Nothing in the ingredients you listed would seem to have gluten. In addition, you mention McCormick in your title. McCormick clearly lists any gluten in its products.
  22. I can't guarantee ALL sauerkrauts are gluten-free, but in 8 years I've never seen one that isn't. Enjoy. richard
  23. Good suggestion lucedith. Actually, all first-degree relatives should be tested. My dad had what were incredibly minor symptoms, but at age 70 his blood tests and endoscopy were highly positive. richard
  24. You find most nuts are contaminated? Please provide more details. Thanks. richard
  25. If there is indeed MSG that has wheat, the wheat still must be listed in the U.S. In the end, MSG is just not something to worry much about.
