  3. Shauna, have you ever considered that you might have chemical sensitivities? It seems like the care you go through to make sure your food is free of gluten would also remove a lot of other contamination (coatings, crop acceleration, etc).
  4. I have a cotton bedspread on top to keep the cat hair off, but Butch managed to figure out that the pillows were fleecy and he slept between them looking like a cat burrito. When he finally had to get up for breakfast he had to ungracefully pull himself up one side and roll down to the bed. Very cute.
  5. Sleeping in those sheets is like sleeping in melted butter. I didn't wake up til 6:30.

  7. This paragraph makes absolutely no sense.
  8. So I'm at Target, and I've had a pretty crappy couple of weeks, so I need to buy some bedding 'cause I have this thing about bedding making the world a better place. I look through all the offering s and can't find anything I like, because, of course, I don't need bedding. I'm thinking 'dang, what I really want is a set of sheets made out of that snuggly...
  9. The different ways corn are processed makes them different. I can eat a little bit of corn chips/corn tortilla, but absolutely no whole corn (except the occasional baby corn in a salad. Other people say the exact opposite. Pick one processing and test that for a week or so, then do the other type.
  10. My problem is that I commute by bike, boat, boots, and bus. Everything I take has to be on my back. The lunch sack looks a little bulky for me.
  11. Me too. Twenty bucks.......maybe worth just having it around......
  12. Wow! What an awesome little device!
  13. Geez L'weez. So much to deal with. Stay strong and I hope everything goes smoothly and you recover quickly.
  14. Shauna, gluten is soluble in alcohol. Any tiny amounts left after washing would dissolve into the first barrel of wine. I don't believe casks are remade, so unless you were insanely sensitive AND got the first wine out of the barrel, you wouldn't have any issues with wine, or any alcohol aged in barrels.
  15. I have never had green bean casserole, or Open Original Shared Link, but I've heard of people using them in place of the fried onions.
  16. Do you need a doctor's diagnosis? If not, just stop eating gluten and see how you feel.
  17. Sounds like a lot more fun than just the kit would have been. :D
  18. me too. you really don't want to know. ....although I do have those really cute kitties If I can remember to grab the camera before yelling at him I'll get a picture of Butch doing his spider-in-the-web impression by hanging splay-legged in the middle of the window screen.

  21. Some people say hi in a meeting thread, others just launch in with their story, in whatever thread it fits. Welcome to the board!
  22. This may sound odd, but this tea tastes very sweet to me: Open Original Shared Link and I've considered trying to use it in baked goods to see if it adds sweetness without the sugar.
  23. hmmm. I never ate a lot of bread previously, and gluten-free stuff is so pricey that I only get it for a treat, and since it's a treat I always buy the cinnamon raisin, which I never bought as regular bread, so.....As far as I know, Rudi's is cinnamon toast bread, so yes, I would.
  24. Thank you Heidi. It's so much easier to follow you now.
  25. I didn't think the ataxin had anything to do with celiac disease, it was just the other nearby gene with SNPs, although it did make me wonder about the frequent ataxia issues people experience with gluten intolerance. I'm too tired to think it through, but maybe it's one of those dragged along mutations and gluten intolerance doesn't directly lead to ataxia...
