  1. Why does it matter to you what other people say about themselves?
  2. Keep in mind that you cannot fail out of med school. Once you're in, you're in. This means your doctor could have failed every class three times, but would be allowed to stay and keep taking them as long as he's paying. This means that any physician could be one of the ones that should have been thrown out. My personal assumption is that the more pompous...
  3. And thank you for joining the board. Everyone here has traveled more or less the same path you are traveling. Sharing experiences makes us all a little wiser, and your stories are now part of that.
  4. You have the perfect explanation...."I saw this new doc while in ____ and she made me realize I have a problem with gluten." You don't have to tell them that it was her lack of knowledge that helped you into this decision. Welcome to the board.
  5. Bring a snack, although I think the meatballs are gluten-free. Actually I think they aren't. Can't find verification. But the gummy fish should be ok.

    ARCHIVED Burritos!

I don't know what that is, but can you go there (if it's a restaurant) and get everything but the outside?
  7. I don't think the cost is different based on the beds. Book the room, then call and confirm your two Kings. Also double check that the price quoted is per room, not per guest.
  8. Kick some but!!! You are ten times the person you used to be which makes you 50 times better than everyone else applying.
  9. If you are willing to make the effort, teaching a doctor benefits everyone. If she's willing to learn then you may be able to create the perfect doc for you.
  10. I'd stick with the snow. We'll all get better, but the snow's questionable (here).
  11. Your doctor works for you. Don't let her push you around.
  12. I would hope so, but not all states are as progressive as Kansas.
  13. And find out what the laws are in your state. I suppose it's possible that your hubby has permission to agree to testing you against your will....
  14. Me three! Happy B! I got sump'n too PT. Shivering and sweating in turns.
  15. Consider dyeing it a lighter color with a washout dye. Maybe you can make use of your gray to seem like highlights. I have the bride-of-Frankenstein gray at the temples and I do a color rinse once a week or so in the shower. It keeps the gray from being too obviously gray.
  16. What Karen said.
  17. Send a formal letter of complaint to the office, the insurance company and try to find a medical ethics board or something that you can also report this to. Inform the office AND the insurance company that you will NOT be paying for a test you refused, and you will pursue legal recourse if the physician/office doesn't waive all costs for the test and remove...
  18. I agree with Karen. If you're an adult living in your parents' house, it's not up to you to tell them how to run their kitchen. Put your dishes, silverware, and a pot or two in your room along with all your non-refrigerated food and go with that. If you are paying rent to them and buying your own food, you have a better case for insisting on some basics...
  19. Dangit!! Currently finishing off the wine. Let's hope it holds off for a trip to Costco. chickens can eat grass. cats can eat chickens - no wait- that's my food source......I'll think on that extra boyfriend? I'm having enough trouble keeping one. (He took me out for gluten-free hamburgers yesterday  ) and anyway, he has fireplaces and...
  20. On the up side, you have a lower risk of miscarriage... Open Original Shared Link
  21. Happy to pay anything for a pre-confession (although I may already be too late  ) ah well. Listening well to Shroomie's tales since Seattle is on the 'to-do' list for THE BIG ONE. hmm scared cats...check extra blankets...check additional heat source....see item one extra food...eggs in the back yard what else?
  22. Open Original Shared Link They started getting gluten-free buns from Open Original Shared Link Not listed on their menu yet, but they have a (handwritten) sign on the door (it is Kingston, after all. Population 2800. No point in printing a new menu since everyone will tell everyone else anyway.) When I asked if they knew about not touching regular...
  23. Glad you're safe, Shroomie. It looks terrible there - take care of yourself.
