  1. Everybody has there favorite mixer I am sure. Like said above some mixers can not handle the breads. My grandma blew the moter out of her Oaster mixer a few months back making buns. Therefor I wanted to get a mixer for our family that would last for years to come and hopefully never need to be replaced. I did some research first and diceded to get the...
  2. I was wondering the same thing with my daughter. She has been gluten-free for a couple of months now and I am amazed at how often she is needing her bangs cut. She has gone from about every 2 to 3 months to every ohter week. So I would say it is possible.
  3. I was sick allot with both my babies....more so with the second one. One of the things we figured out was that I had to drink allot.....and I mean allot to help. Turns out being dehydrated makes you queezy. I ended up drinking allot of gateraid.
  4. Thanks for your replys. Makes sense about the toxin thing. My grandma throws up now when getting glutened. We didn't have a fever, chills, sweating, or muscle aches. Just a headache, knee ache, vomiting, then I got direah a few days later along with itchy bumbs under my chin and my daughter had slept for an entire day a few days after (wich if it was...
  5. Congradulations! My first was born very healthy. My second was born at 29 weeks due to celiac but I had not been diagnosed or gluten free. As you can see many celiacs have had very healthy babies. Chances are you and your baby will be just fine as you have been gluten-free for awhile. Just make sure you are taking all the viatimans that you should be...
  6. How do you tell the difference between having the flu or being glutened. Both my daughter and myself may have been glutened at two different times. Both of us had a chance for cross contamination. I am more convinced that my daughters was from being glutened because she ended up with mouth sores and a couple of itchy blisters on her face. Myself I am...
  7. You can make your own cramb crackers and then make a crust from them.
  8. We buy ours from HyVee. We use them in apple crisp.
  9. We make chicken noodle soup using tinkyada pasta, boulion cubes, seasoning, and cut up cooked chicken. Turns out gret and my daugher loves it.
  10. I usually don't use a mix. I use a frozen juice concentrate, crushed ice and vodka. I also take frozen strawberries, bananas, sugar, orange juice, and vodka. I use Smirnoff vodka....to the best of my knowledge it is gluten-free.
  11. Our whole house is gluten-free besides our cat. We would now like to make him gluten free as well being he eats and then licks himself followed by our duaghter petting him. We are on a tight budget and have been buying fairly cheap cat food but am willing to spend a bit more for gluten-free. Does anyone know of some gluten-free brands. We do have some...
  12. That is a good question and guess I never thought about it. I can not garuntee that they are gluten-free. I know myself and my daughter eat them allot in many different dishes and have had no problems with them.
  13. I am not a fan of velveta cheese especially in macaroni so I was estatic when I found this kraft cheese. It is in a blue thin tube. It is labled kraft Mac & Cheese and also says popcorn cheese on the pkg. I have found it with the parmasion cheese in a shaker as well as by the popcorn depending on the store. I use about 1/2 a tube per pkg of tinkyada...
  14. Now she is complaining about her knees hurting....is this related to being glutened? I am unsure if I should send her back to grandma's if she is going to continue to get glutened. She wants to see her for a few days over Christmas break. Any advice would be helpfull. Thanks.
  15. Our daughter spent Friday and Saturday night at her grandparents. They are not gluten free and a farely clueless about all of it. We did take her to the store to pick up what our daughter could eat and had her use paper plates and what not. Told her not to use nonstick pans or the same wash clothes etc. The problem is she threw up Friday night and complained...
  16. It sounds like there are some different views out there. I guess I would be asking your doctor (not that they always know much). My doctor is a celiac himself and so are two of his children. He told us when myself and my oldest daughter were diagnosed for the whole house to be gluten free. It is to hard to compleatly prevent cross contamanation. Our...
  17. I love the stainless steel look and wish all of our stuff could be. It does take some maintenence to keep them spot free. The ones we have mostly show water marks and finger prints. There are special cleaners and wipes for them though. If the marks bother you and you don't like to clean it may not be ideal for you but if you clean your kitchen like I...

  19. I am sorry to hear that you are having sinus problems. It can be very irritating and painfull. I have had sinus problems most of my life. I had sinus surgry done back in 8th grade to clear out a year long infections and they scrape some bone away to help it drain better but I still have major problems. One thing that Mayo clinic perscribed me was life...
  20. I am so glad that you guys found out that this is her problem so it can be taken care of. I think the people above have made some great suggestions. I am glad to hear that she has made the disicion to go gluten free. I don't want to scare you but at the same time want your wife to know how serious it is that she stay gluten free while pregnant. I did...
  21. Here are the ingredients as shown on the box.....I didn't see anything obvious like wheat or malt and it is a kraft product. Rice, sugar, polydectrose (source of fiber), hydrogenated vegatable oil (coconut and palm kernel oils), salt, contains less than 0.5% of natural and artificial flavor, acetic acid, red 40, blue 1.
  22. These appear to be ok but maybe I am missing somthing or maybe somthing else in them is making us sick. Both my daughter and I have experienced tummy aches and cramps when eating these on a few occasions over the past couple of months. They are a kraft product so I thought it would be obviously stated in the ingrediants list if they contained gluten. But...
  23. I saw Ice Berry Pebbles at our local grocery store yesterday. It says new on the box. I was wondering if this cereal is gluten free or not? It appears to be but I am not sure.
  24. I am sorry to hear that your little girl isn't feeling well. Gingerale can be dehydrating itself because of it's sugar content. I know you said she doesn't like pedialite but maybe you could try the popcycles they make. My doc had me drink gaterade when I was preg and dehydrated and it helped allot!
  25. That is great news! You're little guy will catch up at his own pace. I bet you are soooo proud of him right now. I to have a preemie due to celiac. Our daughter was a 29 weeker now only wieghing 14 lbs at 1 yr...she has just started crawling. She is feeding herself some finger foods but still doesn't eat anything out of a bottle so she has a tube in...
