I keep going in chat and not finding anyone but me to talk to. So, tomorrow at 3 pm central, be there if you can.

Subject:  Coping with Celiac Disease.   Whatever about it.

Edited, because I need to take the children to gym at 1, although, if I can I will check at 1 since I made the error.  I also can't change the subject.

Is that central time US? Are you serving tea and snacks? :)

mushroom Proficient

I won't be there but will send a cream and raspberry cupcake from where I am having "tea".

I don't do well with the chat feature....but someone save me a cupcake -- which I will carefully freeze for when I get such treats back...hmmm.. i wonder how those freshly baked bagels from mariposa bakery in sf are doing in deep freeze?

Sorry Diana - Shroomie and Karen mentioned sweet treats and my mind went wandering.....

I better just have water  and there isn't too much chance of cross contamination?  Go ahead and make your favorite cupcakes, though and (Barring discussion about it) I will never have to know!  I just got a recipe for cupcakes, I printed it off, and expect that I will be able to use it one day.

Lisa, and whoever else is having thoughts about sweet treats.  It is okay mentioning it just now.  Sweet treats aren't even sounding good.

If anyone cares to talk by Skype some day.  I have it, but need my children to help me with it!  I hope it wouldn't be urgent.

I have some strawberries Perhaps we could share those?

That's 1 pm on the west coast!  Your title is still right.   :D

I got out of the gym.  I will plan to be there at both 1 and 3 pm central time.  If nobody is there, I will leave after 15 minutes.

And yes 1pm Pacific.

I'm in class all day ... take care!

It is less then 10 minutes.  I am getting ready.

Whoops, I meant to be there and forgot.  Did anyone show up?

1desperateladysaved Proficient

Yes, four of us did.  I recommend the idea of posting a "meeting" like this in the future.  Having a certain topic could be a good thing.  Having a super-sensitive group, or decades undiagnosed group, or possibly a group of people home during the day could be fun.  A  question time for Newbies, perhaps?  I am not volunteering for that one.  I think I would scare everyone away with my current can't eat list.    My personal favorite might be a group that comes from an alternative medicine group!

I am still looking for Dr. Phil, in order for him to tell me that my symptoms are all in my head and I can return to normal diet.  After all, I have only had 3 doctors confirm my celiac!  Somehow, I doubt that will happen for me.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?
    • Francis M
We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
