The 'reputation' on my profile is marked neutral, who decides this and who puts the post into this category?  I also noted it is marked (2) but I only see one post under that category.

I reread the post and don't view it as offensive.  How do I see the other post if there is indeed two posts that have been reported?

I would gladly delete the postings as I don't want to offend anyone on this site.  How do I delete a post, if that is the case?  Can anyone see the reputation category and the posts?  If the posts were deleted would it be removed from my profile?

Thanks   :)

A positive number in reputation means someone " liked" your post by pushing the up arrow. This is a function that isn't used much on here. If you have been a member for a while, The " reputation points" were different before the " Upgrade" and you could have some left- over points.

What you worry about are warning points. If you didn't follow the rules of the forum, you would get a warning. A new warning shows when you log- in or refresh your screen. You have to aknowledge it before posting again. So you would know you had one.

Neutral is just the system default. Your reputation is neither bad nor good. But, like I said, its really not a function that is used any longer. People can no longer " vote you down".

Your reputation is visible to everyone. It is zero when you first become a member.

In each post, there is a little box on the right side, under the body, but above the signature (if any). When the post is first made, the box is grey and contains the number zero (0).

Other members can also see a green square to the left of that box, with an arrow in it pointing up. If a member wishes to, they can click the box with the arrow to express their approval. Doing so will increase the number in the box, and the box will turn green showing the number of votes. A member can only vote once per post, and never on their own posts.

Each vote is counted twice. Once on the post where it is made, and once in the profile of the person who made that post.

So, in your case, two plus votes have been made. It could be one each on two different posts, or two on the same post.

I do not believe deleting a post which has received votes would affect the reputation, but deletion is rare here.

For the sake of completeness, there was originally a red down vote button. It was removed last summer, but you may still find old posts where the box is red and contains a negative number.

This is in no way related to the mechanism for reporting objectionable content. Only moderators can see reports.

I hardly ever notice that little up arrow at the bottom right of the posts.  The old system it was more noticeable I think.  But it does work.  I added a one up to your post Sisterlynr.  But I think Peter is right, in the current system it is not used much, it just isn't as noticeable as before.

Okay. . . glad I asked.   :)   So that is similar to the 'like' on Face Book. . . . that's cool.  I have read comments and wanted to like or agree, without writing a reply.

Just to note, this site led me to my diagnosis and I recommend it to to so many people.  I was desperate for a diagnosis so I could receive treatment.   I went online and found questions/replies from people on here.  Once I saw the photos and heard all the like symptoms, I knew without doubt I'd found the answer.  That led me to discussing DH and Dapsone with my PCP.   I'm now on the road to healing.  So many of you have been helpful and it's been a life saver for me!  Thank you so much.   :D

Ha! When I started I thought the green arrow meant "back to top". I couldn't figure out why that thing wouldn't work. But still.... I like you all, I really like you all! :D

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
