Brown Rice Bread? Anyone Had It?

I went to Trader Joe's last night and GASP, they were out of the Udi's white bread. All they had was brown rice bread, and I have to say, I picked it up and it felt like two bricks, so I didn't buy it. I figured I'd ask here if anyone's tried it before I buy it.

Anyone?
Thanks :)

What brand was it?  There are many gluten-free breads.

Unfortunately I can't remember the brand name for the life of me. It was a clear bag with pink and white design on it. I've tried to google to find the logo, but no luck so far. I'm still looking.

Found it! (finally!)

It was Food For Life Brown Rice Bread.

It IS a rock!  Our family won't eat it.  Get that UDI's or Rudis!  When it's not on sale, our local store can purchase a case (6 loaves) for me at a 15% discount.  That way I never out of bread.   I buy my bread at TJ's only when I'm out of state.

Thank you! I'm glad I didn't buy it. I was temped which is why I picked it up, and I almost dropped it b/c it was so hard and heavy!

I will stick to Udi's which I happen to like very much.

Our Trader Joe's was out of EVERYTHING Udi's today...I hope that's not a hint that they're going to stop carrying it. No signs were up, only gluten-free bread was the FFL Brown Rice Bread and TJ's Ryeless Rye.

I've had it and it's definitely not a great all around bread, but it certainly has its place. It's also almost all made from whole grain, so what you give up in taste, you make up for in nutrition.

I'm so glad I didn't buy that bread!

I haven't been back to Trader Joe's yet. I ended up getting some Schar bread from Fairway Market. (They didn't have the Canyon one that everyone seems to really like) I too hope Trader Joe's empty shelves weren't a sign of anything. Maybe there was just a delivery problem.

I wish I could get into making my own bread, but so far I haven't had much success.

I haven't tried the Canyon Bakehouse bread but the hamburger buns were REALLY good. The best gluten-free one I've had. Our Walmart has recently started carrying the CB breads on a wire rack next to the gluten-free section in the baking aisle.

Maybe start with an easier bread such as focaccia.  Have you tried making that?

I haven't tried it - but I'm certainly willing. If anyone has a good recipe I'm game :)

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
