Costco now sells a product called Angie's A Holidrizzle Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Kettle Corn - which is certified gluten-free. AMAZING!! It's popcorn with a chocolate drizzle - and delicious!! Even though the name says "holidrizzle" - I went through half the bag last night!

I missed seeing this last week! I'm going back this week though because they supposedly have Rudi's stuffing by now. I tried that popcorn at the Expo last month and O...M...G...!!!! I could eat my weight in popcorn and still want more.

Thanks for letting us know they brought it back this year for the holidays. I picked this up at Whole Foods last year before I was diagnosed and didn't even know it was gluten free. It is so delicious! They also make a White Chocolate Peppermint version and I was able to buy both versions at my local grocery store today. Next time I am near a Costco I will buy it there because I'm sure it's a bigger bag and a better deal.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
