Well i don't know where to post this but, i just found out a month ago my sister has ovarian cancer. In doing research about it really seems to me that ovarian cancer and gluten-free symptoms seem eerily similar. I have a lot of the symptoms of ovarian cancer myself. As i am sure, a lot of us do. Anyone have any thoughts about this? I apologize if i am being intrusive. caterina

I don't know what the symptoms are for ovarian cancer so I don't know. Do you have a link or a website?

sorry, i don't know how to paste and copy, but if you go to the national cancer institute website and type in ovarian cancer symptoms in the search box, you will find a list of symptoms.

Yes, the symptoms are very similar (gastro).  I'm sorry to hear about your sister. :(  Be sure to get checked yourself!

I do worry about that when I get glutened.  It seems like the only way to check is to get a biopsy which seems pretty invasive.  Then my glutening gets better and I can stop worrying.  Phew!

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
