I know I promised to be good after I did all those horrible things to my body to get a confirmed diagnosis for my pain. But I was in Wal-Mart last night to do the last of my shopping for my surgery and walked past the Easter candy, because candy, and there were all the Peeps just staring at me. And there were party cake flavored peeps!!! I suddenly had the self control of a toddler and they came home with me.

For anyone who has seen these and thought about getting them.

They.

Are.

Amazing.

Ummm. thanks for sharing.  Now, I think I have to go shopping. :D

I was thinking about trying to make something obnoxious for a desert.  This might do the trick.

kareng Grand Master

They had lots of different colors but only marshmallow flavor.

Yes. I was shocked. And I also had amazing restraint and didn't eat them all at once.

kareng Grand Master

I was at Walmart and did not find this flavor.  But they had Bubble gum, raspberry, lemonade & another flavor.

Ohhhhhhh....I love Peeps.  There should be no reason why I should because they are sugar rocket fuel BUT I just love biting their little heads off!  :P   I will have to

find these but I can't eat them until Easter......I gave up all candy for Lent.  I am in semi withdrawal from the Ghirardelli squares.  :(

Chocolate isn't candy.

I saw all these, and also a sour watermelon. My youngest loves all things sour, I think I'll get her a pack. I'll pass. I may get a pack of lemonade ones though, those sounded really good. And as usual I'm sure a few packs of the bubblegum ones will end up in the house.

In what universe is chocolate not candy?  :)   Or is this one of those, I call it tonic and you call it soda?

I think she means it's an essential to life substance.

Candy is sugary. I guess I'm weird. I don't like sugary sweet chocolate. Just... ewww! Nope, not a pop vs soda thing. I just don't think chocolate is candy. Hey, I was just trying to help you! :P If I gave up candy, I'd still be eating chocolate. And also, yes, it is essential to life. B)

Gemini Experienced

Well.......I still consider all chocolate in the candy category BUT I agree it is essential to life. No argument there........Ha, Ha!

So...I never was a peep fan  ....but....needed to restock some things at the big w today...the peep displays were impossible to miss.  Mine had the cake and blue raspberry flavors that I saw....somehow a couple packs of the extra large white bunnies ended up in my cart to make choc dipped marshmallow bunnies for my boys...lol...they are damn cute ;)

I still haven't found the Party Cake Peeps!

Can someone post a picture of them?

Adalaide Mentor

I should have taken a picture of them, I almost did a bunch of times, but I couldn't stop eating them long enough to get one. I found a good picture of them though. This site has a picture of the package and you can see them in the package. They're in blue sugar and have confetti on them. You can't see the deliciousness and awesomeness, but it's there.

The following is the email that I received from the Peep's people today:

We offer many gluten free products under the MIKE AND IKE®, HOT TAMALES®, PEEPS®, GOLDENBERG'S® PEANUT CHEWS® and TEENEE BEANEE® brands, and we are in the process of updating package labels to include gluten free statements where appropriate.  Because product formulations can change at any time, we encourage consumers to refer to our package labels for the most up-to-date ingredient and allergen information.  All of our candies that we label as gluten free meet the criteria outlined by the FDA for labeling products as gluten free, and do not contain wheat, rye, barley, oats or crossbreeds of these grains in their manufacture.  The modified food starch used in our candies is corn starch. There is some fructose in corn syrup, which we do use. We do not, however, use high fructose corn syrup. Please be aware, however, that because some of our products may be manufactured and/or packaged in a facility that may also handle non gluten free products, we encourage consumers to read the labels carefully for the most up-to-date ingredient and allergen information.

This is my current exhausting battle with the medical field. As Ive mentioned in past I was diagnosed in 1994 by colonoscopy and endoscopy and was told i was celiac and to stay away from wheat and Ill be just fine.NOPE not at all in fact im worse thanks to being disregarded and my new word that was given that fits perfectly medically gaslight for over 30 years.I was not informed by anyone about the condition other than its a food allergy. Long story short if it wasn't for this website.I would be so much worse. I have been glutenfree since 1994 and was diagnosed with many other foods in 2007. I have stayed away from those items, except dairy sometimes I'll cheat when I know I'll be home a few days.My work history is horrible thanks to my digestive issues. I had my past primary for 25 years and everything im going through, he danced around celiac disease. My last day of employment was March 08, 2023 I was a bus driver and took pride in that.I get sick easily and when covid hit me and I stopped taking tramadel to push to give my bloated body a break, I haven't " bounced " back.Though not that well before but worse now.I applied for disability because yet again I was fired solely on health, which by the way seems to be legal because no lawyer wants to help.I was denied and my primary stated let me fluff it up a bit.FLUFF IT UP A BIT?He has been my doctor for 25 years! All that Im going through was basically ignored and not put together. I switched primary doctor and seeing new gi and its EXTREMELY EXHAUSTING because they are staying all my test came back clean, good, its normal. Except THANKYOU LORD JESUS HLA DQ2 is positive that Itty bitty tiny little test of positive FINALLY VALIDATION RIGHT.No, Im still struggling and fighting its not fair

Since medical insurance is not affected directly by celiac disease on an ongoing basis (i.e. medication, medical devices, daily monitoring, home care nursing, etc), I rather doubt anyone would be denied a policy for having it as a pre-existing condition. I’ve certainly never been and I have two pre-existing conditions that are managed with diet alone and both are long-well-known by my doctors and via medical testing and procedures. Insurance is all about risk management, not health.

I got beaten so bad playing dominoes that made me realize that I was probably eating something with gluten, the culprit (Simms premium cracked pepper STEAKSTRIP). Now I can look back and see all other symptoms: irregular stools, bad sleep, desire to eat uncontrollably, bad mood, etc. Gluten really does a job on my short-term memory.
