Sublingual Vit. B12

I currently take Vit. B12 in a tablet form. Its a slow release tablet. I understand that the body absorbs the sublingual form better than a pill. Could anyone point me to a gluten-free sublingual B12? Thanks.

I use the GNC ones.

I use Enzymatic Therapy ones and they are gluten free-say it right on the bottle and taste pretty good too(not to mention very small) :)

I use Source Naturals. It tastes fine and is small.

Mine is from "The Vitamin Shoppe"---many CVS vitamins are gluten free too and it says it on the package. Nature Made may have one too. Nature Made always states on the container if they are gluten free. Deb

i use country life -- says on the bottle "NO: yeast, wheat, soy, gluten, milk, salt, sugar, starch, preservatives or artificial color." it also has folic acid in it, and it tastes like cherry! :D

Is anyone familiar with the Trader Joes B6/B12/folic acid sublingual? It has stevia in it, says no corn or starch in it, but has natural flavors. I had one yesterday (I had gotten them for my husband and he gave me one, and I wasn't really thinking so I took it) and maybe 8-10 hours later I started feeling nauseated, then my stomach has just been really gassy ever since and I've had no appetite. It doesn't say anywhere on it that it's wheat or gluten free, but the only place that could sneak in is the natural flavors.

Just curious. I'm kind of mad because just YESTERDAY I posted here it's been a couple of months or so since I've been glutened. I'm pretty sure by the stomach noise I'm getting and the weird appetite that might be what happened to me. Bummer.

Stephanie,

In my experience, natural flavor has always been problematical as far as gluten is concerned.  “Natural flavor” can mean an extract. Extracts are normally made using alcohol distilled from wheat.

Natural flavorings are not considered a Celiac issue.  ON the rare occasion they are made from wheat it must say that on the label.  And distilled alcohol is gluten free no matter what grain it is made from.

The topic has come up in the forum a lot: https://www.celiac.com/search/?q=lymphocytic colitis&quick=1&type=forums_topic and here are discussions with "colitis": https://www.celiac.com/search/?&q=colitis&type=forums_topic&quick=1&search_and_or=and&sortby=relevancy

I’m in a flare up with rib pain. I read where others have experienced this after exposure to gluten.  Has anyone found something that eases the pain.

Scott Adams/Trents - Thanks!  I will definitely do some more research.  I welcome any and all advice.

Yes, I've read that online but I was just surprised that no one has mentioned it on this forum specifically.  We have not had our follow up meeting with the Dr where I'm sure she will advise as to how he needs to deal with this ailment.  I have learned from past health issues - if you want to find the REAL truth - talk to someone living with the disease.  THEY will know way more than any doctor ever could.    Thanks for responding.
