anybody else suffer from anxiety dreams? the first one i remember having was really sad -- i was on vacation at the beach with some friends and they knew i had celiac so i'd just downed 2 heavenly biscuits at breakfast, and they were just like i remembered them-- and then it hit me: they weren't supposed to be for me, they weren't gluten-free! oh no! so i woke up all sad and mourning biscuits. the last one i had was a few days ago. i can't remember for the life of me what it was, but it was funny. anybody else want to share? hopefully they will stop soon!

Most of my gluten dreams are of eating something that I used to love, and then realizing after I'd taken a bite that I shouldn't have done that!!!! The dreams used to be rather frequent, but since joining this site and becoming more vocal and proactive about celiac disease and finally bothering to bake some of my faves in gluten-free form, the dreams have drastically decreased. I think it's your subconsious mourning the loss of your former eating style. But what's kinda of funny to me, I just realized, is that in my last dream I can't remember exactly what I was eating, because I can't remember how it was supposed to have tasted. Some kind of cookie maybe?

oh good, im not crazy  i used to have those dreams ALL THE TIME when i first went gluten-free. i think b/c i was thinking about it so much- those dreams have gone away...although occasionally if i eat something that has a low level of gluten (accidentally) and then go to sleep, ill have a dream about getting sick from it and then will wake up in the am sick. dreams can be pretty weird...

I have had dreams where I was being forced to eat gluten foods. I was crying and trying to fight them but people had me tied up and were forcing the food into my mouth.

In my dreams I will eat gluten then realize I can't have it and will try to throw up and I get so upset.

I just had one of those dreams 2 nights ago. I was at a resteraunt somewhere w/ my family. There was all kinds of deserts you could just grab...like a buffet. I kept staring at these brownies. I even picked one up...I was fighting with myself cuz I wanted to eat it SO bad! I ended up not eating it. :(

I think I had the dream because at work I saw a new kind of almond joy brownie bar..I stared at the box for awhile. The brownies in my dream looked just like the ones on the box. :)

I used to have dreams about making the gooiest, greasiest grilled cheese, eating it, then realizing what I'd done and I'd die, then wake up with a start-kind of like the dream where you walk off the edge of a cliff and wake up before you hit the ground. Weird, huh? ;)

I have a gluten anxiety dream every night! I'll realize I ate a bagel for breakfast, and it's too late. Or I'll be in the middle of eating a McDonald's cheeseburger, and think "wait, what am I doing?" But I tend to have dreams where I do things then realize later that I totally screwed up (I use to dream about abandoning my son at Wal-Mart or other horrible things). When I quit smoking, I would dream about smoking every night. I would wake up and think "oh, good, I didn't really relapse". It's like the dream where you show up at school naked. Our fears attack us in our dreams.

The other night I had a dream that I was at a dessert bar, and none of the desserts were gluten free. There was a cheesecake that looked so good, and I just decided I was going to eat it. I was worried mainly about the crust. All of a sudden, a lady came along, and started pouring the cheesecake part (without the crust) onto my plate, and saved me from my near cheat.

I do have dreams where I've had something to eat (usually mac n cheese!) and I get SO mad at myself in the dream, and then I wake up and I'm all 'oh - ha ha, just a dream..."

But last weekend I had one of those dreams where I dreamt that this whole thing has been a bad dream, and that I am in fact healthy and can eat what I want when I want, where I want... then I woke up and WHAM - it was like someone punched me into reality. I was so sad all day.

But then the other night I was having some hot dreams about me and a young Kevin Costner... guess they're not all bad, eh? ;)

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding

I think I found a huge culprit for severe reactions to create worsening of my c symptoms. Do people with celiac have sensitivity and /or have opposite reaction to certain medications Where can I find a list ?  I'm new here I'm.wondering why I am getting worse when I take certain medicine...the burning feet.  Rebound muscle pain so intense  How many people get opposite effects or have a horrible attack after these meds

Does anyone know if that includes scrambled eggs and healthy smart butter (,gluten free) I add a very tiny amount of margarine less than a teaspoon.  I did no't have any bread    It just seems like no matter what I eat my stomach and nerves over fire and here comes a host of horrible symptoms. My lower abdomen feels horrible, my right leg thigh muscle.. very odd. Jaw pain. Burning feet , joint pain , you name it  The anxiety just creeps up into brain fog. I don't think I could explain this to anyone who is unfamiliar.  Also,  I most likely will not remember posting this until I check it.  This is highly unusual for me because I have an excellent memory.  One weekend before I knew anything about celiac I lost an entire weekend from severe brain fog, confusion, pain, etc.  I honestly thought I was losing my mind. When I think back I recall eating a lot of PBJ sandwiches and turkey sandwiches.  Once again did not know about gluten.  I was just too sick to cook. Do people fast during attacks ?? It seems horrible to keep going through this. I hope I'm not causing my own problems... I wonder if I should fast because I'm not eating gluten .  Chicken ,  scrambled eggs no milk , canned carrots,  gluten free low sugar low fat Greek yogurt which I already posted about 😞 Any suggestions I am open... I am bedridden when this happens to me.  Thank you Celiac community. 🙏🏻❤️
