IL-2 (Cytokines) Found to Trigger Gut Reaction Research

To All,

This is in response to the new research that found IL-2 (Cytokines) can trigger a gut reaction in Celiac's.

It was quoted by Scott Adams in the reaction to grapes thread but I thought it needed it's own thread.

After a little researching on the current research on IL-2 Cytokines I found old research that confirmed the current day findings.

Which I was kind of surprised to find...30 years to the month...the medical community found and promptly forget this research.

entitled "Serum interleukin-2-receptor in coeliac disease: response to treatment and gluten challenge."

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1542053/

But I also found research on B-Vitamins that helps us regulate Cytokines in the body...which I didn't know existed???

Entitled "Oxidative Folding of Interleukin-2 Is Impaired in Flavin-Deficient Jurkat Cells, Causing Intracellular Accumulation of Interleukin-2 and Increased Expression of Stress Response Genes"

https://academic.oup.com/jn/article/133/3/668/4688038

I was wondering what the Celiac community thought of this...the same connection to cytokines and depression have also been noted.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0378512216302997

this would make sense if the depression some one who develops Celiac disease also is triggered by low B-Vitamin status.

What do you think is there a connection??? IN the research thread and related disorders is where this newly discovered research makes most sense to discuss it.

I hope this is helpful but it is not medical advise.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
